I recycle plastic drinking straws, to protect my brushes. You can also widen the straws, by lightly heating them to go soft then push a pencil in the hole, this gives it a trumpet look, and makes it easier to put over the brush.
I'm working overnights and want to put together a basic kit for grab and go, to toss in with my knitting and a book... this along with all the coffee in the world I have to keep my brain engaged thus awake and alert. As long as I'm breathing and alive the bosses are happy. Thanks for the video.
Try a vitamin C + B complex supplement too! It won't make you super energetic but it will make you feel a bit better and clearer if you're using caffeine. I also use a mushroom powder mix of Lion's Mane and Cordyceps with some Maca and it works wonders for alertness and clarity!
Loving the wood palettes and Stablo! I have a set of beam paint stones wrapped in waxed paper. Love them. Thank you for sharing all these great products. Lots here that are new to me.
Good tips i upcycle my toothpaste tops and put it in a upcycle altoids tins i also use upcycle pop tops and add my paint in or my inktense pieces in...👩🎨🎨✍
I save blisterpacks that hold medication or Vitamins. The little wells make great light-weight travel palettes. It's a little fiddly though - nothing if one is a little more heavy handed. But they are great for miniatures on the go. Oh, and silicone mats cut to size keep things from sliding around.
My waterbrushes came with a set of metallic watercolour paints. I just bought a watercolour brush the day before. So if you are on a supply hunt, make sure you don't accidentally get doubles.
did you say the 12 walls wooden palette came from Korea? if it is can you give me a little more information? because I am ordering some art supplies through my friend in Korea.
Ignoring the pronoun police 👮♀️- enjoyed the video. Stablo on order with an extra cup ring. I like having 2 cups for 💦. Totally unrelated to plein air- keep pencil ✏️ shavings - they are great fire 🔥 starters 🙂
Lol. Right? Ha. You’ll have to let me know how you like the Stabilo. You’re wise to get the additional ring. Thanks for the tip about the pencil shavings! I did not know that. Happy painting!
@@Ihavegumption yes, many people also pronounce " en plein air" as " en plain air" ; when it is pronounced "on plen air" (french) but I usually try to ignore it ; )
I received my Stablo. Your review was spot on. I am happy I ordered an extra cup holder and the two collapsible silicone cups. The Stablo is so lightweight and compact . It is surprising how it makes ✍️/ 🎨 so easy and comfortable. I added a thin metal sheet ( extra magnetic metal phone plate I had) with adhesive to the bottom of my Cotman plastic palette so it would adhere to the magnetic area. Any flat magnetic metal plate that can be adhered to the bottom of a plastic palette will work for the various plastic palettes. No need to run out and purchase metal palettes. I place the brush holder and cup holders in my Rite In The Rain case that I use for my travel watercolor setup. Thank you for the review.
I haven't been plein air painting in the last year or so. I have mostly been doing studio work. I have some issues with my neck so mostly I am in front of an easel or elevated these days.
I enjoyed your video read some pior comments wow the people were way toooo harsh I say like alot due to geographically area ,my friends in canada say ahye..and my other friends in uk say right alot so it's too bad that some people have to comment on such little idosnychsizies ... I just use my daughters old slimhard shell pencilschool box I put my watercolor brushes in a soft sided glass case with another s.s. glasscase on top then pop it into the pencil holder...seems to work well.. on the inner top of pencil case concave area I attached four pen holders thingy that stick so I try to utlize that area two on each top side that way the pencils or pens I use get clicked in dont roll around...the hard thing is my sketch book I always want to grab a few of them I like different sizes and shapes of sketch books along with different color tone like gray tan black ...so many choices..many art blessings to you today...saying prayers for the artists in Ukraine may they find peace and safety during the war..💛💙🙏🕊✍👩🎨🎨mikelle art mom...
Many art blessings to you too! Thank you for sharing what tools you use on your painting journey. And, thanks for your kind words. I can see where making a decision on which sketchbook to take is a hard one. I'd take them all. ha! :)
Very useful video. I am an avid Urban sketcher and a lightweight kit that is accessible for my tools is very handy. I use a bag that has a zipper at the top and many compartments so I can store my fountain pens, pencils and travel brushes upright. So as I sketch I can see the top of everything and pull out what I need. I recently made an aluminum sketch board, similar to the Stable easel, but half size so I can slip it inside my Fearless Felt Watercolor Sketchbook ( that I create). There is a hole for a naglene water bottle, magnets for my tiny arttool kit palette and a hole for my brush. So I can hold my book, and sketch board in one hand and everything is right where I need it. Also just a suggestion, since you are a woman you might want to consider shifting your language from calling everything “guy”.. we are not guys and neither are our tools. Using that word disappears WOMEN! You are very smart and I am sure you would be able to use “gals”, “artists”, “people” etc instead, thanks very much.
I like the first part of your comment and the second part is really Not necessary. This is not an an English class, and it is not N Korea last I checked. You do t need to comment on how people talk if it is not offensive. Thanks

You have some really interesting palettes there, especially those Beam products! I also love porcelain palettes and Fabriano paper! 😊
Great minds! ;)

This is how I ordered it- www.etsy.com/shop/CharlieUSKFactory
What are the beam paint pans made from? I have trouble sourcing non plastic pans.
They have a fabric-coated beeswax pan. If you would like to learn more about Beam you can do it here: www.beampaints.com/pages/safe-painting

After 2 years do you still use the Stablo?

Stablo overpriced, thin wood? better options, in my opinion. Jeanne

Wow all of your tools are “guys”?????? That is strange..
So glad you took the time to comment. Hope you enjoyed the video. ;)
How many times did you say "guy"? I lost count.
