I love this video!!! I have been carrying my entire collection of watercolors, pencils, sketchbooks, markers, anything I can think of in a really big bag. My paintbrushes have been in random bags, not the best. I love your invention to carry watercolor brushes!!!! I am going to look for some cardboard and a t-shirt. I love that you can paint on the go and I love your the legged seat, what a cool idea. I am in Texas, so happy you are on TH-cam, thank you for wonderful video!!!
I love you and it's the first video I see of you. A tip can use, instead of a towel you can use a wrist band (the sporty bands people use for running), so you can put it in your wrist and clean your brushes! And there are invented for sweat so it can hold good amount of water. I hope it can help and thank you for the great video
I love your energy, your talent, your inventiveness and this video-and look forward to more to come! I have one little trick that I use and find very, very handy! I bought a package of stretchy (terrycloth-type fabric) headbands that I use to wipe my brush on (HOTER Sportline Head Band, Terry Cloth Headband, Sweat Band (2Pcs/3Pcs Pack - on Amazon). They are very absorbent; I just wrap one twice around my wrist (in my case left wrist because I'm right-handed) and dab/wipe your brush to remove excess water. It's always there, is easily washed, takes up virtually no space and you can carry several of them easily for when one gets too wet! I even wrap it right over my watch and the watch never has been damaged, but is still handy when you have time constraits!
Hi Artist Elaine Thank you so much for sharing your tip! I always have been wanting to try this headband at the wrist tip and never did so thanks for reminding me. I definitely have to try!! 😀 Thanks for your compliments about the video as well, I am happy you liked it! ☺️😘
As soon as I saw your bags I started searching online for anything similar...it’s such a great idea having those front pockets for your water containers to be in reach. Also I imagine that the leather will age really nicely, with little splashes of water and color on it from your travels 🙂 Creativity is not just about creating but also in finding ingenious ways that help us TO create!
I just found your channel. Watching you sketch Notre Dame led to a whole day of architectural and gesture sketching that wouldn't have happened if I hadn't found you. Thank you!
Magnets on the legs of your stool: genius. I have the same stool and the straps, ARE very stupid! My tip is to use a super thin sponge cloth (intended for counters) instead of paper towels or cloth to wipe your brushes. In the states they are like a," sham-wow" but i buy them cheaply at "trader joes" and cut them up to 2x4" rectangles. I carry them w a reusable plastic bag 3 or 4 each outing; when one gets too wet or dirty i stow it in the bag and take out another strip. Once home i rinse them w a bit of soap, air dry them and they are ready to go again in no time. Saving money and the earth at one time.
Hi Suzala! 👋 Ha ha, It made me laugh that your had the same problem with closing your stool! 😅🤣 So that was not just me or the stools I buy!!!! 🤪 Thank you for sharing your tip with the sponge cloth! 😊👍 Is it drying rather fast if you keep it in the open air? See you!!
You have a contagious smile! I smiled with you for 24 min! I loved this video. This is the first time I watched a video by You or to know you. You have amazing tips and your face tells how much You love what you do!
Thank you for this informative video. So many good things to consider. I can't imagine the time and energy that went into this video and then filling in the description box with links. You are soooo good to us! :) One thing I use for wiping my brush is the tube part (what fits around your leg) of a sock. use an old sock with holes in the foot part that cannot be darned even one more time and cut off the tube part. it works great. Thanks again for all your efforts Anne-Laure we truly appreciate it! :)
Thanks a lot, Evangeline. 😊 Yeah, extremely time consuming but I like it!! 😅🤨😁 Thanks for sharing your sock tip!! 👍😊 I have yet to try the wiping thing at my wrist. 😌
Love the bag and water in the pocket idea! Best urban sketching set up I've seen! Also I appreciate the text you show in the video to help us understand names and brands. I wish other youtubers would do this! So helpful. Thanks for posting!!
I love this setup. It's very creative, especially when it comes to the floating palette. I'm going to implement your idea for sure. Thank you very much for sharing!
I love your videos! You are so inspiring! I use a metal palette too. To keep my pans in place I glued flat magnets to the bottom of each pan for easy removal and cleaning. You can buy a sheet of flat magnetic material on amazon that is adhesive on one side and cut it to the size of each pan and then stick it to the bottom!
About the magnets on the stool leg, maybe you can stick them to the leg using a wide masking tape. That shall still allow them to stick together but won’t let them to move :) Loved this video! So different from your other videos I’ve watched! Thank you for this! :)
I know I’m 2 years late to this party BUT You should really check into squirrel travel brushes, I have sizes 10,12 AND 14 squirrel mop brushes with fantastic points on them, and they have the wonderful caps that protect the bristles and the brushes are half the size when capped for storage. They also have holes in them to allow air flow to prevent mildew or mold of you put the brush away wet. The squirrel and sable you actually want to have damp to keep bristles at a point to be able to safely cap them. They are just amazing brushes and I fear you are really missing out!! Especially how they save space and you can store 4 brushes in the same space as 2 normal brushes!!! I personally purchase the Art Secret brand they are affordable and well made and available in Sable, Squirrel, Full Synthetic and Synthetic Blends but I also own ones from Richerson,Grey Matters, Eval, and a few Chinese made ones as well....I have MANY MANY MANY in all shapes and sizes, flats, rounds, pointed rounds, filberts, rigger/liner, dagger, angle, pointed filbert, oval wash(similar to filbert really) Just about every single kind of brush made of available in Travel/Pocket Brush versions. The ONLY kind I have been unable to find in travel versions is a fan brush and I’m actually working on making one for myself as I love a good fan brush for nature scenes!! I personally cannot get enough of these kinds of brushes!!You are really missing out!! Do you have a PO BOX? I’d be happy to send you one just to show you what your missing!!
Perhaps these weren’t available 2 years ago but they are now and I just want everyone to experience how wonderful they are for painting on the go or even at home!!
Hi Lindsay and welcome!! 😃 Thanks a lot for your compliments about my video. I am really happy you liked the content and the energy. Do you also paint on location ?! ☺️ Funnily, I came upon you channel yesterday through your video about Patreon. I still have to discover more about your videos. 😊😉 See yooooou!!!! 👋
Wonderful! 😀 I can picture it from here. People talk about Maine as the paradise of painters so.... 😃😍😌 Seems a lovely plan.. I have yet to paint in a canoe 😉 (although I already painted in a lot of quite weird places!! 😅). I was thinking... I am quite new at TH-cam but I saw some people doing some collab, which seemed to me quite nice as a community thing, sharing ideas and working together along with encouraging growth. 😊 Do you sometimes do these kind of things?! 😌 You and I have really different styles so maybe it could be fun to paint the same scene each with her own personal style and approach! Would you be interested to do so?! 😃 I am well aware that you have a successful channel with a lot of subs and everything so I would totally understand if this doesn't seem suitable or fair, or whatever, to you. If it's the case, I might ask you again in a few months or next year but if you don't care about it, let's paint "together"!! 🎨 It would be quite fun! 😛😁 See you!! 😘
I love this video so much! You are so bubbly and full of life! Such a great idea for a sketching kit too. I'm a newbie to art but would love one of these. I often go for walks in nature and wish I had my art supplies with me. I"ll have to try to make something like this. THank you.
I love that you've found a practical way to have everything so accessible! Such a comfy setup. The magnets to keep the palette is so simple and GENIUS. Also, your enthusiasm is very contagious 😊 Glad I found your channel and thanks for sharing!
I love how compact your kit is! I made myself an art bag out of an old army shirt (I thought all the pockets on it would be good) but I ended up making it quite big and I have to put a handbag organiser in it to stop everything just falling to a heap in the bottom. I’ll have to take a leaf from your book and try and downsize!
Lili Merci !!!!! I am happy you liked this tip for the palette! I hope you will able to use it! 😊 Yes, probably, having 20 pans in such a small lightweight palette is a record!! 😝✌️😁
I love how you made most of your kit. I wish there were more advice videos showing things like this. It's convenient to buy bags and such, but so expensive! You're awesome!
I can't wait to try this set up! I've made a little palette from an Altoids tin that sits well on the magnet clips. And I found a secondhand cross body faux leather bag that has 2 perfect front pockets! They hold either my Airborne containers of water or slightly wider prescription bottles for water. Today I found a pencil case that will hold my pens/pencils/brushes upright and easily reachable. Hoping to test it all out next week! Thanks for sharing your tips and tricks!
Iris, thank you very much for so many wonderful great compliments!! 🙏 I am so glad I can bring a bit of my optimism, enthusiasm and creativity through the channel. 😊
I absolutely love your energy and this channel. The detailed explanation of the watercolor paints were very informative and your watercolor bag setup blew my mind! Thank you for sharing!
I just bought the Llbean field canvas messenger bag. It’s probably a little bigger than I need, but if I decide to bring a tripod, or invest in a portable stool, those things will fit inside of it. It’s also very stylish and durable, and comfortable to carry.
Loved the video - so many solutions to every-painter problems (I love the magnet ideas!). Unfortunately, the links for your product recommendations do not work here in the States (they take me to a medical testing company.) Do you have an Amazon affiliate link, maybe? Thank you for posting - love your energy and creativity.
That leather bag has such an ideal construction! I love the pockets and the proportions!! I'm super picky about bags, so of course I fall in love with one I can't get 😂 One day I'll have to have one made for me... A perfect art bag ❤️
Thank you for sharing this it was very amazing to watch and you gave a lot of helpful and amazing tips for urban sketching i love this very much plus your very wonderful thank you so so much ☺️💓☺️💓💓
Love your ingenuity! I will try and follow your example and make my own! I especially love the magnets on bulldog clips! That is genius. Thank you so much for sharing with us! Your paintings are beautiful!
Thanks a lot for these lovey compliments, Kelly! I hope you will have fun and enjoy making your own version! 😃👍 Please keep me in touch!! 😘 Happy sketching!
I like this tips and every of your videos for the information but your personality is what i love the most. You just have natural good vibes, all the time!!! i wonder if did you ever got angry!!!Cheers and thank you for what you share with us (btw i followed your recommendation of the sword medium pro-arte brush, is taking for ever to arrive for obvious reasons but i'm eager to try it). Cheers, take care!
Thank you for sharing your painting supplies! You've given me some great ideas. Loving your bag.....I seem to have to dig thru mine to get to my supplies. Hmmm, guess I'll either have to look around or maybe make some changes to my bag.. Great video...
Thanks a lot!! Yes, that's something I like with creativity, it's not always needed that it's complicated to be great and life changing. 🧡 Thank you for these lovely compliments! 😊
You are so talented and you are really funny too. I love your enthusiasm for art. I have to admit, being unemployed right now has bummed me out and I am trying to find some inspiration to start painting again and your video really cheered me up. So thank you! Also, I never thought about making a palette out of those metal pencil tins. That is genius! I bought cheap eye shadow palettes and removed the makeup to add the watercolor from tubes, but then you can't move the paints around if you get new colors, and you can't easily change the colors out. I am going to try that with an old daler-rowney pencil tin!
Teresa Thanks a lot, I am very touched that you look forward to watching my videos like that. I always think I will be able to upload the next sooner but it takes so much work!.... 😅🤪 See you!! 😘
Hi Ephemeral!! Thank you so much!! 😃 I remembered your comment but couldn't seem to find it again. Here it is, haha, so that I can thank you for your lovely message and your sub. 😌 🙏 Thanks a lot, this really touched me that you just subscribed for the good vibes. 😊 And I am really interested about having your feedback on the videos because, yes, I would like that anybody can watch them, even if they are not practicing some of the crafts (some might practice painting, some photography...). So please tell me, if you have time, if the demo excerpts in the VLOG videos for example (like the one with the strawberries or with the umbrella), went a bit boring at some point for you, or if I managed to keep them sweet and short enough so that anybody can watch and be inspired and entertained. 😊 Thank you ! 😘 See you!!
Following the White Rabbit Awww. This is the most thoughtful reply I have ever received from any youtuber. ❤ You seem like a lovely person, and I will gladly give feedback. First, none of your videos have seemed boring to me. In fact, you have inspired me to try my hand at using watercolor paints. Videos like the strawberry one make the process seem therapeutic. Perhaps it's only therapeutic if I don't have high hopes for a beautiful outcome at first? Lol! We'll see how it goes. 😬
Thanks for sharing.. I found an Eagle creek bag that is very similar and my pencils brushes and pens can all stand up. My sketchbook fits in the back pocket. The best ,thing is to be able to grab this bag and I know I have everything to quickly go out urban sketching!, Thanks for great ideas and the video!
I don’t know,, it does convert to a fanny pack.. check their site. The bag is about 6” high by 9” it opens at the top with zippers. A great sketching bag!
Hi Eileen, thanks for sharing! All the bag I can see from these brands are enormous and look more like a suitcase but that's nice that you found one you can put your art stuff in it and it's handy!! 😊 Yeah, having everything you need in a bag is the best!! 😝
Your videos lift my spirit !!! You are a genuine artist , the willingness of sharing the knowledge & tips you accumulate during your trips make me be thankful for 😌 ..... Health, peace and kind people always on your way Anne Laure .
Your personality could bring sunshine to the darkest day. I am watching plein air videos to learn both painting and set ups. Your bag is genius.
I love ur hair it looks like mine
Yes and I agree with your cheerful personality! Wonderfully uplifting!

Yes. I second the genius involved. I had to show my friends. Mind blown. Thank you so much.

Nice DIY you have done to make your travelling painting gears.
About the magnets on the stool leg, maybe you can stick them to the leg using a wide masking tape. That shall still allow them to stick together but won’t let them to move :)

You are soooo wonderful!Magnifique!! Thank you so much for sharing. Happy Travels!! KR❤️😆
I love this kind of do it yourself approach to your kit! Very inspiring.
Omg! You are adorable! Your obvious enjoyment of watercoloring is contagious!
I know I’m 2 years late to this party BUT
You should really check into squirrel travel brushes, I have sizes 10,12 AND 14 squirrel mop brushes with fantastic points on them, and they have the wonderful caps that protect the bristles and the brushes are half the size when capped for storage.

Thanks for sharing your set up! I love your energy! So fun:)
See yooooou!!!! 👋
Following the White Rabbit I do! I love to paint here in Maine in the spring, summer and fall:) I really love to paint in my canoe or kayak.
It would be quite fun! 😛😁 See you!! 😘
Following the White Rabbit that would be gun. Email me at artstudiosofbangor@yahoo.com and we can try to figure something out😎
Thank you again, Lindsay, for agreeing with it! 😘 I am very excited about it. 😌
You're a genius! Thank you for sharing!
The clip magnates are inspired! Innovative!
Thank you so much Ana!!!! 😃 I am so happy you found the channel and thought this video was helpful! ❤️
Wow! I love your video! You are so enthusiastic it's contagious. You make me want to grab a bag and go paint. Thank you :)
Very enjoyable and very useful too, thankyou!
So smart idea for the lovely paint bag
I love how compact your kit is! I made myself an art bag out of an old army shirt (I thought all the pockets on it would be good) but I ended up making it quite big and I have to put a handbag organiser in it to stop everything just falling to a heap in the bottom. I’ll have to take a leaf from your book and try and downsize!
You make me want to paint. Your paintings are beautiful!
❤😊 Thank you for sharing.
Thank so much for all of your handy ideas. Now I must go paint.
Brilliant. Thank you for all that information.
Wonderful, thank you!
Love the magnet ideas, and especially the metal pencil case as a palette. You can fit 20 pans!😍😗
You are so ingenious.😃
Merci mon amie!
Lili Merci !!!!! I am happy you liked this tip for the palette! I hope you will able to use it! 😊
Yes, probably, having 20 pans in such a small lightweight palette is a record!! 😝✌️😁
I love how you made most of your kit. I wish there were more advice videos showing things like this. It's convenient to buy bags and such, but so expensive! You're awesome!
These are some awesome ideas! Thanks for sharing 😁
Thank you for such innovative and creative videos. I really enjoyed watching all of your videos.
Thks for the great tips!
I can't wait to try this set up! I've made a little palette from an Altoids tin that sits well on the magnet clips. Iris, thank you very much for so many wonderful great compliments!! 🙏
I am so glad I can bring a bit of my optimism, enthusiasm and creativity through the channel. 😊
I would use a sponge in palette but all I would change, you had me hooked from the off!!!
I absolutely love your energy and this channel. The detailed explanation of the watercolor paints were very informative and your watercolor bag setup blew my mind! Thank you for sharing!
My best bag ever, with several large pockets inside and out,is a camera bag.The ones made for larger cameras with extra lenses.
Yeah, it seems quite a good plan! You may not be able to put the sketchbook in it though?! ☺️
I just bought the Llbean field canvas messenger bag. It’s probably a little bigger than I need, but if I decide to bring a tripod, or invest in a portable stool, those things will fit inside of it. It’s also very stylish and durable, and comfortable to carry.

Thank you for sharing your painting supplies! You've given me some great ideas. Loving your bag.....I seem to have to dig thru mine to get to my supplies. Hmmm, guess I'll either have to look around or maybe make some changes to my bag.. Great video...
I like your enthusiasm and your ideas are so creative, yet quite simple. Thanks!
Thanks a lot!! Yes, that's something I like with creativity, it's not always needed that it's complicated to be great and life changing. 🧡 Thank you for these lovely compliments! 😊
Like it very much. Recently just want to organise my sketch bag. Your advice really get my target, small, light, get most of things. Thanks.
This was amazing... très intéressant nyo!!!💖
You are a very creative lady to come up with all those great ideas.
Thank you very much Mary ❤️
Thank you for another great video! I am always look forward to watching them!
Teresa Thanks a lot, I am very touched that you look forward to watching my videos like that.
I always think I will be able to upload the next sooner but it takes so much work!.... 😅🤪
See you!! 😘
I'm not even an artist but I have to subscribe because your energy is so wonderful!
Hi Ephemeral!! Thank you so much!! 😃 I remembered your comment but couldn't seem to find it again.
Here it is, haha, so that I can thank you for your lovely message and your sub. 😌 🙏
Thanks a lot, this really touched me that you just subscribed for the good vibes. 😊
And I am really interested about having your feedback on the videos because, yes, I would like that anybody can watch them, even if they are not practicing some of the crafts (some might practice painting, some photography...). 😘
See you!!
The best ,thing is to be able to grab this bag and I know I have everything to quickly go out urban sketching!,
Thanks for great ideas and the video!
Eileen Goldenberg May I ask the full name of the Eagle Bag?
Thank you,
Jeanne Marie
