How to play your Xbox One in another room / multi room WITHOUT streaming to Windows 10

  • Hi, this videos shows you a full install on how to get your Xbox One working in another room (or multiple rooms) using HDMI splitters/amplifier and USB Extenders. The end result is perfect picture and control with no lag and full operation of the Xbox One using Cortana speech commands to control the Xbox. This is ideal if your Xbox One is in the main room and other people want to watch TV, you can carry on gaming in another room. Also if you live with other people in an apartment/house and you only have the one Xbox then you can share it and also play split screen with each other in different rooms.
    Many thanks Vince.

    I understand your plight. I find myself doing things like this just for the convenience of being able to press one button and seeing the product of all of your hard work just for that one single purpose. so satisfying when it pays off even if you find yourself being the only person who appreciates it. definitely worth the while.

    Excelent Video Vince
    I also watched how you created your own USB to RJ45 adaptor, using only 4 wires. In theory if you use two pair of cables (blue and blue with white stripes) to send the signal of one usb terminal, the resistance through the ethernet cable drops in half, so the voltage drop should have dropped in half too. I haven't tried but in theory that may also help to improve the signal if you dont have a signal booster

    Which essentially all you need to do is run the USB along with HDMI to another room utilizing splitters.
    Regardless great vid I think I learned a lot of how I can extend cables.

      He used USB to RJ45 extenders, you plug a usb device into a usb socket that has a ethernet socket. Then you plug in your ethernet cable and on the opposite end you terminate it with the other USB RJ45 connector. They are sold in pairs you can look em up on ali express.

    Just a idea mate around 43 minute you start talking about swapping the xbox usb ethernet cable mod in the wall to another socket in the wall so you can have it in another room
    could you not just use a old router plug the xbox out into routers in and then all the other plugs can plug into the outs of the router and then into each socket you require the usb extention
    then you dont have to swap out the cables and remober which room is which socket lol

    • @Mymatevince
      @Mymatevince  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, no unfortunately not.. because the USB extenders are just using the wires in the cat5e/cat6 Ethernet cables. The USB signal will not be able to be split in the router to the other router ports so the USB signal will not travel through the router. Hope that makes sense.

      Ok incase anyone wants to do this with two rooms next door - I am going to buy an HDMI Splitter as stated, usb extender 10m (although once I drill a hole from one room to another (luckily Tv's are only separated with a wall prob won't need as much cable) and a hub, fingers crossed this will work. That's my theory, only thing need to check if usb on xbox one is 2.0 or 3.0

    problem is vince you using the bt/ir/wireles of the the tv as the throughput connection for controller unless there is an issue with hdmi cec of your tv not supporting it
    though past 1 additional tv likely pointless
    to be honest for all the time wastage and paying yourself a wage to do it you could of brought `2 xbox one s and did the same thing at half the cost

    • @Rizzalp
      @Rizzalp 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +My Mate VINCE using splitscreen? so when using splitscreen would it show both splitscreens on each tv or do the screens get separated on to different TVs?

    • @Mymatevince
      @Mymatevince  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, no unfortunately it shows split screen on each TV. All the HDMI splitter/amplifier does is do a copy of your main TV (where the Xbox is plugged in) to all the other TVs. There is a way you can watch TV/set top box/sky etc. through the Xbox to another TV while playing a game but you can't play separate games at the same time. My latest video shows you how to watch whatever you connected to your HDMI input in another room while still playing a game using windows 10 and Miracast.
      Cheers Vince.

    Hey Vince did get your message through email but its not showing here.
    do you think connecting the adapter to a windows 10 laptop getting it up and running then trying it on the xbox would work?
    Bit confused that the other fella got it to work and you didn't

    • @Mymatevince
      @Mymatevince  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, it definitely will not work. As far as I know the drivers are already built into Windows 10 that is why it is recognised when you plug it in. I have tried it on 2 runs using those USB extenders and it does nothing even after using it on a PC. I have looked at AV forums and others have confirmed that it does not work. The only other option is using those fake Xbox controllers from China, now they might well work because the cheapest ones definitely have a little USB dongle that you have to plug into the Xbox to send the wireless signal so it shouldn't make a difference if it is extended BUT....I have not tried this as the controllers look nasty. Maybe someone reading this has used them and can confirm if they work.
      Cheers Vince

    • @Captain-Chats
      @Captain-Chats 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      My Mate VINCE hi again thanks for the reply, I went a head and bought the adapter this morning, you are correct it doesn't work.
      I'm not sure why the other guy is claiming it does in the comments below as you and I have both tried and it doesn't work.
      I really don't want the wired route and would rather use my Xbox controller than a knock off. So for the time being I'll have to do with the streaming to my laptop which I can connect to my tv and Ethernet power line adapter while using my newer controller with Bluetooth.

    I have a huge problem that me or my dad cant figure out, We have a 10+ Meter Ethernet Cable that refuses to work, I recently made a bridge from my pc to my xbox one using a Ethernet Cable, I used a short Ethernet Cable (0.5 Meter) and it works but the 10+ Meter refuses to work but it conects and my laptop can detect the cable is working and conected.... I dont understand whats the problem so i ghese i need a booster of some sort.

    • @Mymatevince
      @Mymatevince  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Can you not plug in the Ethernet cable from your Router to your Xbox instead?

    • @raymondvanwyk8615

      My Mate VINCE I can but same thing it wont work

    • @Mymatevince
      @Mymatevince  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      It sounds like the 10m cable might be faulty or have something wrong with the gold pin (contacts). They should work up to 100m so you will not need any booster. Maybe try cleaning the gold pins with a damp cloth (might be a dirty contact) and when it is dry plug it in again and make sure it clicks nicely into place. If the 50cm works from the Xbox to the router and the 10m doesn't then you would suspect the cable but it is strange that the 10m is working in your laptop!!!
