It is a real pleasure watching you work. I've been repairing knives and selling them for over 30 years now and I learn something new from you every time. Thank you kindly.
Great repair job. I am just getting started in pocket knife repairs and you are my go to guy! Thanks for the way you took the time to explain each process. It takes years to repair them as easily as you make it look. I make custom full tang knives so I do have experience with the process but pocket knives is a different ball game. God has blessed you with this talent and you are paying it forward. Thank you and may God continue to bless you.
Thank you so much for the encouragement! I know a lot of people who are better at this than I am, but I am just out here having fun. It is an enjoyable way for me to clear my mind and relax from a stressful job. Thanks for watching, and may God bless you and yours!
Morning just stumbled across you channel and what a pleasure to watch from London UK , just tried this method on a beautiful antique Joseph Rodgers Sheffield knife I own that has lost all its snap and it's worked perfectly thank you so so much honestly 👍🙏🍻
Thanks for the video. Interesting to to see you work on folding knives, they have always been a puzzle for me. Seeing that blade spinning on the drill bit did make me nervous though.
@@richardhutchinson4016 me too! If you notice, I was no longer holding the blade but just kept pressure on it with one finger and kept the drill speed slow. As soon as that blade moved, so did I!
@@cliffordmaynard6559 I used to use disposable razor blades. It took two of them, but they were so thin that sometimes I could not remove them without breaking them!
Don't have to do that the blades are always 1,000 of an inch wider than the rocker spring, all you havre to do after peening is just rack the blade a little at a time till it loosens to the desired closure.
@@GregWilmoth I have made a set of prices, based on the repair. Email me pictures of a knife and details on what you want, and I will gladly let you know the cost.
Thank you! I usually order from Jantz Supply, but I got a good price on silver nickel pins from the Bear and Son knife factory, at their annual sale a few weeks ago.
I have a schrade cut co knife with this issue I’d love to fix. I would ruin it tho. Sucks though because it is such a nice old knife. Thanks for the video sir
Great work.. probably takes years to get a blade tang to wear that deep. Glad you brought us along to see it brought back. Thank you sir 👍

You can use a single edge blade in the knife to get the tightness right.

I have a question about where do you get your replacement pins from ? Love your channel !

@@ebertcombs6610 Thank you! Get an old junk knife or two and practice on it first. You could do this!
I enjoy your work also. I don't know what kind of buffer you use in your drill press, is it cloth or a brush?
When new it looks like a cylindrical ball of wool. At the price, I assume it is synthetic fibers though.
Removing the bolster pin is where I always get frustrated. Someone could carry that knife for decades now
@@randyblackburn9765 I hope they do carry it for decades!
I like to take electrician knives and make single blade folding knives out of them
