Hello to a very old comment. I think we left London in the afternoon, got on the 11pm or so ferry, then arrived in France in the dark in the morning, then arrived in Paris in the afternoon. So about 21 hours travel time.

The most basic of Google routing. Which had pros and cons. I've learned better since.
