this is the first video in a 2 part series about the eeriness and mystery of k-pop group NewJeans' music videos and concept.
If you want to know more about Min Hee-Jin's latest controversy and feud with Hybe Corporation, these are the best videos I could find on the matter in English:

Thank you for watching!!! :)
The subtle creepiness is definitely intentional, their presentation feels like an indie art project that is definitely deeper in meaning than it appears.
Remember that their influences mainly came from Japan, and Japanese aesthetics are endearingly creepy as well.
Yes their whole style is Y2K Japan
@@paxeey yeah, which is more impressive because they actually managed to capture the zeitgeist of that era BUT still made it their own, that's very rare for artists to do.
You can clearly tell they have major influences but they embodied it and made it "Newjeans" if I can put it that way.
yes!! compared to the rest of Kpop groups I've seen (and bear in mind that I don't consume much Kpop outside of NewJeans, so I could be totally wrong), NewJeans sometimes feels a bit like the Korean version of indie-pop artists in the west. they have "indie" vibes in that their songs are a lot more chill than the usual Kpop song, especially now in their latest 2 comebacks. and their visuals are a lot more toned down as well, with many videos (not all, ofc) being filmed in location instead of in front of a green screen. they are still unequivocally Kpop and VERY pop and colorful, but in the videos especially you can see hints of an "indie art project" vibe. I think that's what draws me personally to them the most
@@nichepeach im not a kpop fan but I heard A LOT in passing and know a lot of groups and its history just because I'm a music nerd...and i have many friends and girlfriends who liked kpop so I'm really exposed to it.
Most of KPop honestly just sound the same, they only have several formulas that are rotating in the entire industry (like if you dive into it long enough, you would mostly hear and see either cutesy or "fierce"---which is what they like coin as "girl crush concept", and most groups sounds utterly manufactured and factory products.
Thats why I love Newjeans, they really feel like a deconstruction of KPop that I'm used to...they don't really feel too much like idols that just happen to do some performance.
they actually come off to me as musicians and artists who just happened to be idols...and that's why they bring in so much "outside fans" who cant really ride with the "overpolished" and "overproduced" feeling of most kpop groups.
I always describe Newjeans as "standing out by speaking softly in a room full of shouting"...and oh boy, Kpop fans love their belters and their rappers, and the bombastic productions...its just not for me though.
@@nichepeach Indie vibes? You calling New Jack Swing, Miami Bass, and all the sub-genres of hip-hop, R&B, and dance music as indie sounding is such a facepalm moment. Indie music is low budget production and cursive singing is the hallmark most indie music. Kpop is just stagnant music that recycles music trends from the late 2000s and 2010s. You just explained that you don't know music beyond pop.
the "creepiness" of newjeans is definitely intentional esp. if you know anything abt their creative director. she's a lover of vintage films, books, & fashion. if you've seen her works with red velvet, f(x), & shinee - whether it's music videos or photoshoots - you'll see very similar themes/aesthetics take place. especially themes involving teenagehood.
as a casual tokki who prefers their brighter y2k aesthetics it's very interesting seeing the switch between aesthetics. i did say it's intentional, but the switch feels almost coincidental.
yes!! that's what I'm trying to say. the switches feel coincidental, but everything in Kpop is so meticulously thought out that there just has to be a deeper meaning lol
@@nichepeach yea i think mhj just likes that side of newjeans more than their y2k side which is why now we get this weird combination of aesthetics in their projects rn.
i also don’t know if this feeling i get is bc ador hasn’t found a way to balance both aesthetics OR bc i feel like other groups have already done this OR bc i want something like their debut again lol
I just wish mhj wasn't such a shitty person because she has so much talent and decides to throw it away 😭 She couldve done a whole LOONA type concept, She couldve made such good lore
asap creeped me OUTT and no one was talking abt it
Wait now I see it... I don't think I can look at their content the same again.
Yess its a whole reference of midsommar
@@casswithmywholeheart5524 RLLY??
Samee, my younger sister just shrugged me off as being oversensitive 🫤
If one of my classmates pulled out a camera and just started silently recording us for no reason I’d be creeped out too, especially in the lighting and atmosphere of the classroom shown in the mv so I can see how some people might be creeped out. The recordings lowkey remind me of true crime recordings too lol 😭
What's creepy about NewJeans is that they don't seem like real people. The way MHJ has marketed them makes the members themselves seem like fictional characters. It's strange because they are one of the top girl groups out right now, but unlike other top girl groups, I don't know much about them. She's created an air of exclusivity to the point that you don't even know if the members are real people.
i kind of felt this way too, but i realize that’s just because i don’t engage with their content outside of the music. they regularly post on youtube and are always on live. they’re real people you just gotta be willing to get to know them ig
@moonbootz5499 After I watched this video, I went and looked up the Virigin Su*cides that was mentioned here. I was reading about the movies reception, and someone described the characters as seeming more like an entity and not real people. That's how I would describe the members of New Jeans. They come off more like an entity due to the dreamlike atmosphere MHJ creates around them.
@@miyamuni I feel like in their videos it definitely feels like they're out of reach. They're portrayed as normal girls having fun, but at the same time they're wearing designer clothes, colored contacts and perfect hair and makeup. I do think though that in their TH-cam videos and vlogs their real personalities shine through a bit more, to me especially Hanni and danielle, but that just might be me because i don't understand Korean and they're the ones who speak English most often
i think ppl misunderstand their marketing strategy because they always compare it to blackpink’s strategy i mean they might do it in the same way but the intentions are different their CEO once said that Kpop suffers from overdoing things and brings fatigue not only to their audience but also the members they dont do a alot of variety show and dance challenges because they wanted their music and art to be the main focus bcuz nowadays most kpop fans are more into the personality aspect of the idols and care less abt their music
I was here before anyone else. Remember this when you become famous.
how would I ever forget
Same I was here! ❤
Me too
I’m a huge fan of red velvet and new jeans. The reason why I bring up RV is because they also have a creepy or uncanny element of many of their music videos, and it’s their signature almost nowadays. However it’s also usually a little more forward than with NewJeans, as their videos with creepy elements have a more insidious/itchy/crawly feeling. I’m not sure how to describe it. But I really like both groups and just wanted to bring that up because this reminded me of RV a bit, even though they are extremely different still; the types of “creepy” in both groups’ work is also different.
Both groups were worked on by MHJ, and if I remember right Cookie was apparently supposed to be a RV song, and considering how well some of newjeans songs go w rvs discography I wouldn't be surprised for some of newjeans songs to be scrapped RV songs.
I also think the reason newjeans is less forward about their creepy concept is because mhj isn't sure of which concept she'd actually like to go with, but she also hasn't found the balance between the two exactly like red velvet has, They could have a "New" concept and a "Jeans" concept (Could even be referred to as Gene's) New could be their fresh new bubbly y2k songs, Jeans/Gene's could be their creepy songs. For example, Supershy is a New song, Ditto is a Jeans/Gene's song, Attention is a New song, OMG is a Jeans/Gene's song. Ykwim?
Same
Surely, the unnerving atmosphere is intentional. They always have a dream-like vibe to their projects - like the calm before a storm and it's definitely a purposeful element as it is recurring in literally all of their work.
When you take a look at Min Hee Jin's other works, it's made clear that she's a fan of this particular aesthetic - Ice Cream Cake by Red Velvet and Shadow/Red Light by f(x) for example.
I personally think that this is what adds to their uniqueness. They draw you in with their performance to the point where it starts to feel creepy. When it's over, it's as if you're awaking from a trance. That's probably what the appeal is, whether the majority of the audience recognizes it or not.
Really glad that other people see it though!! :D
Talking about Cookie, I don't know why people only focus on the lyrics, but not the "atmosphere" surrounding it. Don't get me wrong, the lyrics in itself IS a problem, but when you group it with other elements, things got worse.
1) The way the members sing the song. The song starts with Danielle "yEAahh~", plus the way they drag the word "cooookiiiee" creeps the heck out of me. Not only that, the way they zoom in Danielle face while she sings "looking at my cookie" with a slight smirk on her face, remember that weird lollipop sence in Hype boy that also involved Danielle? Like??? What kind of feelings do they want to invoke in the audience there?
2) The outfits. This is the only Mv where the member's outfits look like they're inspired by office clothings, 3 out of 5 members wear suits... Uhm,... but why???
3) The setting of the Mv. They film it in an encapsulate room with nothing but chairs. Not to mention the dim lightning that is used for the most part of the Mv.
Now, if you look at the elements I listed above individually, you could reason to yourself that it's just a coincidence. But if you look at them as a whole final product, and that includes the lyrics, you would have to do a whole mental gymnastics routine to not recognize that something is off about it.
I saw only one reaction of a grown up adult that wa a native English speaker completely confused about the lyrics, the aesthetic and the age of the members and that was all I need.
tbf the lollipop scene between danielle and haerin was symbolism of her choosing to stay friends with haerin after finding out they liked the same boy in the mv
Are you a Puritan or burka wearingMuslim?
@@tokkibambi Things have double meanings and innuendos. I mean they could’ve portrayed this simple matter in any other way than having friend 1 take out a lollipop from their own mouth and shoving it in friend 2’s mouth, and it literally doesn’t even make much sense🤣
That part in hybe, like people wanted to talk about cookie but how about the intentional “kinkyness” they showed in hype with them sharing a lollipop and the looks they gave. 💀 I share food with my friends too, it’s not really weird but it is weird in the context of the song when it’s about love and just Danielle’s look in general , it was obviously trying to invoke a feeling and not an appropriate one
this is a great analisys, honestly something that I feel was lacking as I haven't seen anyone talk about the strangeness in New Jeans' MVs
THANK YOU :')
The super shy mv when the bus literally ran someone over but they just continued singing and dancing was so weird and I was so confused as to why nobody was pointing it out
ikr 😭😭
What’s the timestamp?
prob cause they were too focused on the members
Its probably because new jeans is known for bring up emotional distresses and mental issues, literally it's a reoccurring theme that New Jeans isn't actually there but instead a illusion of the main character in the MV.
As for the EP ‘Get Up’, just a year after its release I’ve come to the realization of its presumable ‘purpose’.
I use to be so caught up in the music that I hadn’t even realized that the whole EP is named after a 35 sec song which btw use to be my only skip in their discography so far. Then it came to mind MHJ’s intention with debuting NewJeans and the nuances revolving their concept as music that is easy to listen to anywhere, anytime, regardless of deep and existential lyrics, at least at first glance.
Same as any other of their official releases, the songs in their ‘EP-Get Up’ mostly cover themes of love and heartbreaks, and for such matter it is easy to have it fly over your head. Super Shy was the first MV released after quite a time with no much NewJeans content, and I remember it popping up in my feed out of nowhere while I was having my breakfast in the morning, getting ready to face what was gonna be just another tiring day. Before me, I had a music video with no apparent deep message, striking visual effects nor engineering, but quite the opposite, plus repetitive lyrics, dance and a kitsch mundane-ish cinematic overall vibe -how can a piece of media so simply put make you feel so uplifted and underwhelming nostalgic after a first listen? I really don’t know.
Then it goes all back to my first question -why would they even name an EP after a 35 sec song about a lover that is seemingly emotionally elusive? And there kicks the metaphor! The genius analogy, that as least I held on too. The song ‘Get Up’ could indeed reflect such troubling love relationship of two mutuals, but… isn’t that the same with one self? How in moments of despair we should ‘get up’ and just face ourselves, just as I was left with no choice but to do that very morning after listening so Super Shy for the fist time. The invitation of not dwelling in your own thoughts too much for they can be easily deceiving and self destructive; to meet up with your own self ‘in five’ with a clearer mind and face things with a different view for you DO ‘matter’.
Everything about NewJeans is inviting to look at with a different perspectives regardless of the time in life you might be. There’s always some new viewpoint to unlock with their craft and I believe that’s what will cement them as remarkable artists in music history.
Girl this video deserves more than just 4k views… one of the best Video Essays on NewJeans I’ve seen.
The fact that you only have 3videos up and you’re making videos of this quality already is so impressive.
the way I'm turning red right now I'm a tomato
Fr though! I loved this!!! I'm on the edge of my seat for part 2!!!
off topic but the video was so soothing to eyes
loved the light blue theme with white fonts🤍
I thought a deer in Kpop means rebirth like blue flowers mean love not being fulfilled. I thought the videos looked creepy, not nostalgic.
Great video! Looking forward to seeing more of your content.
@@MyHandle4455 thank you so much 🥺
I think a common theme seen in there music videos is how it always feels like they’re unfortunate victims of circumstances outside of their control. For example ETA to me is so eerie because it feels like they’re bystanders and they can’t do anything about the circumstances. ETA always felt like someone is running out of time and they can’t do anything to help them. Same thing with Ditto. OMG is similar to the theme of being victims to strange circumstances, most recently Supernatural, and How Sweet. Idk how else to describe it tbh lol
how sweet mv is lowkey creepy bro, but I like it
Fascinating video: my personal interpretation of the ending of OMG was that they were calling out the people who criticized their "Hurt" MV and "Cookie" songs. During their debut era, MHJ received a lot of backlash from international K-pop stans for the pictures she had on her wall and was called a pedophile. It left a bad taste in my mouth, but I agree with your OMG and Ditto MV interpretation. I also find the "Cookie" MV disturbing, and it's not only the lyrics, so an analysis of that would be interesting as well. I would also like a part 2 with interpreting "ASAP" & "Cool With You" MVs! I heard ASAP was inspired by the film "Valerie and Her Week of Wonders".
I'm almost finished writing the second part! I had no idea about that film that inspired ASAP, I wrote it down so I'll watch it!! Thank you so much
@@nichepeach You’re welcome! I subscribed and I’ll be looking forward to viewing your second part!
Ive never seen any lolita movies nor do I plan to. I also have no knowledge of any "pedophilic symbolisms" so I cannot really say they pander to that, at least from my own perspective. What I can infer from experience tho as a long time kpop fan is that Kpop MVs are either very flamboyant or intentionally made creepy, but NJ is neither or in between at all once, if that makes sense. I dont necessarily feel uneasy watching their NJ debut project but I do feel a sense of misplacement and it's probably becos my brain is expecting a flamboyant/intentionally creepy scenes. For all it's worth, I personally believe theyre one of the artists that have the best music videos.
i 100% agree with you Maya!🤝
The biggest factor about why their MVs are so creepy at times is PURELY because of the glorification of Lolita is written all over every single one of them. Even the “harmless” mvs have touches of Lolita sprinkled all in it. I fear I can see the same in Illit too that’s why as a 22 woman, I stay far the fuck away from younger groups when it comes to their music. I only care if those kids are being treated right and are protected (which seems like they’re not given that a lot of them wear outfits that women my age would wear now, but wouldn’t at their young ages). I’m terrified cause a majority of these groups coming out with low age ranges have been primarily girl groups. A few boy groups too but they aren’t being talked about as much. Either way it goes- the sexualization of Lolita & coquette as trends are starting to go way too far when it involves these kids. The problem is there shouldn’t be so much to read into but there IS!!! I shouldn’t be able to hear or read OBVIOUS innuendos when listening to these songs or watching the mvs. It’s perverse what HYBE & Adore are doing with those girls.
I think u might just be a weirdo
@@beanshoi561way to dodge an intelligent conversation. If I’m a “weirdo” by your standards then that means you tuned in watching this video being written & narrated by this creator who you should also consider as one. As her & my own thought processes on this topic aren’t different whatsoever.
That’s not even what Lolita means it’s when you have sexual content or lyrics but you look like a baby and act like one and
i didn’t get a single sexual innuendo from any song except Cookie. & then, it seemed obvious & almost campy. like a commentary on the truth & real problem, that the girls are going to get sexualized regardless of what they do. they could be in moo moos, no makeup, singing about ice cream sandwiches & ppl will find a way to make it sexual. THAT is the problem but you can’t change society, you can only support talented artists when you see them instead of trying to tear down & invalidate entire careers bc something wasn’t handled exactly the way you would have done it.
eta: i’m biased towards supporting NJ & i’ll admit that. bc in all honesty, they’re the first kpop group where i’ve felt the teenagers are able to be teenagers & weren’t forced into concepts that were too mature for them or making them appear younger than they are in order to fetishize them. so it’s extremely ironic that your perception is that they’re no better than groups like Babymonster. what would you like? bc you can’t change Korean culture. you can’t change the age that they debut idols bc that will require societal change. so what’s the goal here?
@@OGseoulite explain how you see lolita then
Oh "saudade" 🥰🇧🇷 It's a word in Portuguese when we miss something or someone and remembering that brings us good memories and emotions.

thank you so much the support means everything
This was so well made I was shocked when I saw the views😭
thank you so much aaaaaaa
get up felt scattered all over the place for me; there were so many different and "unrelated" topics in the various songs. and yeah no one is talking about it 😭😭😭 excited how u will interpret the ep in part 2!
Thank you so much for this video, it's as if you made it right on time to catch onto my train of over-thinking 😂. I wanted to investigate more about the art and lore behind NewJeans and pinpoint exactly why they peak my interest and draw my curiousity so much. As an aspiring artist, I think getting into NewJeans has helped me understand concepts and putting complex thoughts/meanings into art to a higher level, because I won't stop over-thinking about each crazy scene that catches my eye.
@@annieguo6569 girl i'm the same way. I was going into such a deep dive on newjeans that I thought I might as well just make a video. glad you liked it 🥺🥺
despite omg being a gorgeous & thought provoking video, it's my least favorite of theirs purely due to the lack of self-awareness.
to me, rather than being a continuation of ditto, it feels like a response to the criticism newjeans & ador received during their debut. everything they criticize in "omg" is exactly what they do as a group & what ador does & still continues to do as a company. i also find it a bit insensitive due to how young the girls are. like they could actually suffer from these things when they're adult adults.
you've definitely got a point there
only 2 of them are minors? y’all talk about them like their toddlers
Interesting video, I've never seen anyone else put to words why their concepts make me a bit uncomfortable. Looking forward to part too 🙂

I'm so happy you enjoyed it 🥹
with get up the whole album talks about time, "get up" "wait a minute while i mean u mine" "asap", "eta", the songs length being short, fast paced.
theres a feeling of urgency
also theres themes of the effect spreading rumors has
for example in eta, the guy didnt kiss the other girl, newjeans just started spreading stuff, and then it backfired horribly as eva kills both her ex and the girl, and then newjeans' own audience turns on them
then in cwy newjeans snitch on hoyeons character
Wait when did they snitch in cwy

I'm so happy I clicked on this video- with OMG and Ditto it was clear that there was supposed to be an uneasiness around those music videos but I never thought too deeply beyond the surface. This was such an interesting video- Can't wait for part 2 !!
Attention newjeans MV is nwjns creepiest (&disgusting) MV actually as the whole starting sequence of the MV is a copy & paste of scenes that occurred in Christine F (a movie made in 1981 based on a true story of a 14 yr old taking on dr4gs & prostitution after her father’s d3ath) So yh, this is my MAIN reason why I don’t support min hee jin. (I support nwjns tho) I could care less abt all the other BS I feel like all dat stuff is to distract us, bunnies into ignoring min hee nin’s strange actions. (There was this time Min hee Jin was spotted to have movie posters in her apartment that storylines were of what I mentioned earlier. ) Danielle also dressed as a girl named ‘Matilda Leon’ during cookie era (A lil girl that was gr00med in one of those types of movies) Not to mention how we’ve heard b4 that either Danielle or Hyein had ‘sleepovers’ with min hee jin. That’s the “creepiest” things for me.
I am a bunny so don’t come at me for spreading awareness pls & ty. I can recommend a video for references but I won’t as I find it disrespectful to redirect this creator’s audience to another video. Ty for whoever’s time reading this.
yeah I've seen a lot of this creepy stuff, I just really hope the members are safe :(
@@nichepeach i really hope so too! i could careless abt all the drama just once they're healthy & safe 🙏🏻
holy shit this is biggest reach I ever saw
@@mav3_Yup. It’s truly amazing just how stupid some K-Pop stans can be.😂
"matilda leon" girl. you dont know what youre talking about.
Also I love that you mention liminal spaces. My boyfriend is a photographer and loved these videos because of their inclusion of them, as well as the cinematography.
Wow. i typically try not to think much about things because it ends up absorbing the reason of why I love the thing in the first place. But, When I listen to Newjeans, there’s just a feeling of sweetness, but something is always just off but I’ve never dived into it further. Watching this analysis really made me appreciate the more deeper and symbolic meanings of Newjean’s MV. “Saudade” really perfectly encapsulates it. I feel a longing for memories and an era I was never apart of. This was a beautiful analysis, I’m looking forward for more to come!
Looking forward to part 2. Can’t get enough NWJNS analysis!!!
Okay sounds crazy but perhaps there is a uncanny resemblance to the movie Donnie darko, kinda a theory I’ve had recently, check it out! Bunnies! 🐰🐇
Yeeees I've been wanting to watch that movie since I saw everyone saying it reminds them of the Supernatural video!! Gonna watch it soon hehe
Your pronounciation of "saudade" wasn't that bad! As a native Portuguese speaker, I found it really interesting that you decide to use it. Portuguese culture, aka my home country, Saudade and it's different interpretations are very often used in songs themes and it's considered a key feeling in our people. I've never thought of using it that way, but it really does fit with their concept.
Honestly, I feel like the best way to explain Saudade is to simply compare it to the expression "I miss you".
I miss my grandparents because they live away. Eu tenho saudades dos meus avós porque eles moram longe. I miss being young and having less responsabilities. I miss that one trip that made me feel really alive. I miss my great-great-grandma that I never met because my mom was close to her that has told me so much stories about her. I miss being in a New Jeans music video even though I've never been in one, but their sets (specially Hype Boy because of the schools, and Super Shy was literally filmed here) remind of places I've been in.
This was very interesting to write and you enjoyed reading it. Obviously English isn't my first language, so please tell me if I wrote something wrong or it doesn't make sense.
oh so "saudade" is a Portuguese term?? I had no idea! thank you for explaining it so well
Also ; during Hanni’s IPhone scene, the is a point where she writes on paper to symbolise a text message with the words “ban heesoo, please pick up.”
nice analysis! i really enjoyed that one, can’t wait for the next part 💌
p.s. it would be very very cool if you could bring more literary sources on media, i would loooove to listen about it ! i was very intrigued by “The Age of Magical Overthinking”, hope you can include something like this again 💋
aw thank you :''''') honestly I'd love to do that. like choose a specific topic for a video and actually read a bunch of books related to it to write a more informed essay with literary references. one youtuber I've seen do that is finalgirlstudios and she recommends the best videos, definitely go check her out
Now I’m watching this as supernatural drops 😭😭
wait i just realised something the way danielle laughed at a static screen is as if shes delusional, and like shes the most cheery and happy person in the group, i thought about how in the new inside out anger calls joy delusional and joy says of course shes delusional and how hard it was to stay happy all the time. so in a way i think the static screen that danielle was laughing at a static screen might be a similar idea like its not necessarily like a reflection of the entertainment industry or like accusing danielle of being fake i just thought of this comparison
People like horror movies because it creates tension whe we know we are safe. That kind of emotional high is.incredible adictive, I have the impression that is the idea here, to have people crave for more.
They are too early on their careers and lives to talk about parasocial relations. They might be touching interesting concepts at a wrong moment and for adiferent public. They were teens being marketed for grown adults in adults settings.
As teens they should be talking about love, friendship, hardwork, maybe the loneliness but from another perspective, maybe nostalgic but from another point of view. That is the real creepy view from my perspective, they are impulsing an agenda that is clearly trying to erase the teenager years of actual teens and make them adults to early for the pleasure of adults.
This video deserves more views, it was very well put together!! I subscribed to see future content and I hope you continue to grow 🙂
We NEED part 2!!
hii this was a pretty fun video :) i know you said you don’t really listen to kpop but since you liked omg and ditto i think you might also enjoy the stuff from girlgroup Billlie (with three L) ! they tend to have this eerie feeling in their mvs and have a really interesting lore as well!

I love this, glad I’m not the only one who thought it was a bit creepy I mean the asap mv…!?
to me theres also a slighty eeriness to their first music videos too, but that i really can only connect to the concept of being twenty something or older and consuming those mvs. i think about the girl next door trope and how newjeans were presented to us first as this regular group of girls dressing up, hanging out, taking baths and dancing at home, not as a detached and unreachable superstar group. the way we're intruding on those private moments is sort of voyeuristic (but again, this sentiment only applies to older viewers).
love love love ur channel 💖
GREAT VIDEO... with regards to GET UP... (cool with you has a great story but its not really new jeans lore nor is it creepy or anything)... but ETA has the same para-social relationship going as ditto and omg but on a MUCH more sinister level... main girl Eva sees newjeans in the same way as Ban Heesoo... but Eva's conditions leads her to murder.... i can explain more if you want lol... also latest tune 'supernatural' is all a metaphor for idol life... even 'how sweet' is metaphorically about their situation with hybe... i dont want to go on a long explanation if you dont want to read.. but if you do.. le me know.. i will explain :P
Can you pls explain abt the murder thing? I dont remember that in the mv
@@talishagalow8885 sure ban heesoo uses her imaginary friends newjeans to cope with loneliness but in ETA Eva uses them to fuel her paranoia... i think the boy may not even be her boyfriend but someones shes become obsessed with.. or possibly an ex .. she sees newjeans through the phone and also sitting with her in her car... there one second and gone the next... newjeans wear angel wings in the video and most of the time when they perform ETA on stage.. suggesting they may in fact be the voices in her head.. the good and bad angels on her shoulder the good side telling her she 'needs a boy on her arm' and the bad the bad side telling her to 'lose the boy on her arm'... in the end she chooses the bad side.. runs over the boy and the girl... puts them in her trunk and the ending suggests shes about to push the car off the cliff. NewJeans appear to her in the car at the end but arent really there as the next scene shows only Eva actually in the car
I've always thought that some NewJeans MV's were creepy lol
Newjeans Concept is like a Iceberg
Newjeans Y2K - Tip of the iceberg

On the topic of Cookie, I cant help but be mad and upset whenever i hear that song. Its not because its bad, But its because this happens so much. Taemin, Hyuna, Sunmi, Tzuyu, Jungkook, etc have all been sexualised as children, Its happening again and theres almost nothing we can do. We're going to have to watch newjeans, especially Hyein & Haerin, Who grew up in this envoirment, Age and slowly realise what happened wasnt right, and then the cycle will repeat itself. Its so frustrsting.
ditto and omgs stories are so deep
Need part 2 asap
@@WBRamsesIII coming!! I just need more time to edit because my job is killing me right now lol
Sorry to hear about your job! Take your time the first part was great!
New Jeans are super stars now, they don’t have to worry about what someone says about them, for those who want to complain well get a hobby, the girls are musicians
They dont produce the majority of their songs so wouldn't call them musicians
Yea Ditto is scary as hell 😭 OMG is just dark comedy which was very brave of the company
My boyfriend and I were really impressed at the TH-cam channel. He thought it was actually an ARG and tried to solve it. 😂 Thought maybe that’s a bit too much for Ador to do.
amazing video 🎉
So, it's been a month so i dont know if u will see this comment, but, the weird term 'saudade' is a portuguese word, which actually doesn't have a translation to english. 'Saudade' could be translated into longing or yearning. However, these word doesn't match perfectly with the meaning in portuguese of the word saudade. I didn't explain the meaning, because the person who wrote it already gave a very good explanation of the meaning of saudade. (sorry for any mistakes)
Yeah I thought you'd get into the dahn world stuff. Knetizens have kind of very thoroughly deconstructed omg, eta, and even super shy as mhj's cryptic way of exposing dahn world (omg), eta (forceful disbanding of gfriend and the nasty personality of ceo pjw) etc. Many many references to dahn world in the imagery too
wait what is Dahn world?
@@nichepeach The cvlt behind h y b e allegedly. It's what the "dahn shi" in omg is supposedly referring to. Ador is allegedly the only label not involved with them and it's very very deep
i need part 2!!!
IT WORKED, " BILLBOARD MAGAZINE's GROUP OF THE YEAR " " FASTEST GG TO PERFORM IN THE TOKYO DOME " South Korea's TOURST AMBASSADORS
Not even blandpink has done that
I think MHJ loved Red Velvet's scary concept I mean she worked on Ice Cream cake so it makes sense she made her own concept incorporating a bit of that!! I hope New Jeans stays scary ❤
part 2 pls!
ETA soo nice.
ending soo dark😅😅
why is no one talking about ASAP
it scared the shit out of me
one thing though they i wouldnt class them as Y2K.. every genre and every visualisation.. is peak early to late 90s.. they are a 90s urban throwback group.
NewJeans MV are always dark....even Supernatural is abt Bunnies invading Earth with NewJack Swing 90s beat😅
Can you make another analysis about othee group also?
I could probably do some western artists. I just don't listen to Kpop much besides NewJeans :(
The creppy thing that u say its not something that they try to hide and its kinda obvious (and other groups also put "secret things" in their music videos)
Also every song that they made is completely different from others of their discography (for example ASAP is from the same album as Cool With You and they are literally nothing alike) so its normal that in every mv there are diferent directors for diferent concepts and also different meanings (in Attention the true/seccret meaning of the song is that they are seaking for attention for their debut).
"Saudade" is a Portuguese word. In a Brazilian accent, you pronounce it as:
sah-ooh (sau)
dah (da)
gee (de)
thank you so much for explaining!!
@@nichepeach no problem :)
I really liked the video by the way ❤️
watchers are meant to chase the bunny
hey the video was too short!!!
second part coming soon!!! I would upload a lot more if it wasn't for my full time job lol but hey a girl's gotta make her coins
i think you'd love the loonaverse if you haven't gotten into it already
@@lemondrop5 Nope! Is it about girls generation??
@@nichepeach no it's loona's lore !! there's so many different elements to it and i'm sure you'll love it. i'd recommend the channel loominosity's videos on it
just as a small introduction, there's twelve members (their korean name is idaluisonyeo which means girls of the moon/month). each girl had a solo debut as well as being part of one of three subunits before the group's full debut, and all their music videos are connected and lore heavy (especially the predebut ones).

I wonder what happens to New Jeans when MHJ is out of the picture 🤔
if you paint something as black then you will see that as black.
this whole video could just be a reach but sometimes reaching is fun
It's because they copy pasted their music videos, let's not forget that.

hybe stans should really put a disclaimer on their new jeans’s videos bc i’m tired of giving y’all a view every time you have a tired take. 🙄 if this isn’t a commentary on the creepiness of the entire kpop industry, than you’re a hypocrite. have a nice day.
no, but actually they talk about the creepiness of the industry in the end. the video is mostly about the eerie visuals in newjeans mvs, but i really enjoyed it (i stan nj)
What?
the video is mostly about the creepiness in their music videos, but I just wanted to add some stuff about the controversies too because I feel like it's relevant to the theme of this video
It's all about LSD
I have never found anything creepy or eerie about newjeans
you wanna know what creeps me out?

these people who constantly smile for no reason
they're worse than nightmares for me
imagine if someone was laughing 24/7
or imagine if someone was crying 24/7
it would make no sense cause you need a cause and effect for anything
so if someone is smiling 24/7
either there is something seriously wrong with them mentally OR
they're professional liars to the point of psychopathy
and I'm not entirely sure which one is worse
newjeans are just a bunch of girls enjoying the concept of peace and quiet
until danielle says something.. and then we're back to loud noises
it obvious that they thing
