3 am TH-cam always reveals hidden gems to me. I’ve recently gotten more into figuring out emulation and Roms, well just getting them to work and play them, this one seems very very interesting and I definitely wanna check it out at some point. The first Rom that wasn’t just emulating an old game was Illusory Dungeon and I think this might be a good second non randomizer related rom to try out. Very well detailed, good job.
Technically embrace of the fog runs on the Lex Talionis engine(GBA Fire emblem recoded in python to be free from gba rom limits) so it’s a solo downloadable file that doesn’t require to run an emulator

As Thomas said, this is a fangame rather than a ROM (hence the potential series name lol, because I'm trying to play more Lex Talionis games especially). But yeah, there are a ton of different cool FE fangames out there (including a bunch of ROMhacks) that aren't just rebalances that I'd like to play and/or review on the channel, so hopefully I'll be able to show you more stuff that you'd like to give a go!
@@akirasou idk what Lex Talionis is, but yeah might check out more of your videos to see what else there is. My only concern with Roms and these games is the fact I don’t have ways of knowing when they get updated or how to apply an update. I’m assuming when it comes to roms I just use the patcher and patch it over the game. But if this is a fan gam separate download, do I have to actively check for updates on a website and then do some digging inside of files and have to install the update that way?
@@oomsou5018 that's totally fair yeah, I try to avoid playing games on the channel that don't have an established beta or v1.0 for this reason. I haven't yet made the LT video, but for Lex Talionis games that you play the Git rather than executable versions of, you can just run a few lines of code on your system to perform any updates right before you start playing it. For executables, you would need to download a whole new thing and then copy your save data across
So not only you know about embrace of the fog but also hetja’s quest and illusory dungeon Ngl you really did your research and I have no doubt you love roguelites, that’s pretty much all of them (also great video) If you take recommendations Fire Emblem Storge is my personal favorite, it’s a very short hack and yet it succeeds at everything fire emblem would want to succeed be it story, gameplay, or characters and even music because this hack isn’t just good at music it’s imo the best hack on that point. And that’s with a unique concept to boast with, you play merchant that starts with fonds to recruit and equip mercenaries in the prologue then go through the game with them. You even get score at the end with how much money you have from (both money and items) then start a new game + loop

Shorter fangames in particular I'm trying to play some more of, since they're the mix of (I think) less intimidating to get into and also more convenient to stream. Good content! The font of the thumbnail has a tiny connection between the “o” and the “g”, which really REALLY looks like it says “Embrace the [homophobic slur]”. I had a solid chuckle when I read the title and realized what it actually said.

I don't believe that fullscreening the game is an option that's put into the Lex Talionis engine, unfortunately
