Also, you get awesome angel summons late game, and recruitable holy 3 to divine blessing your flagellants, for whom twist fate will actually work really well.
GeneralConfusion going for that back-to-back Accidental Ascenscion World Championship, WOOOO!!! ^Watches Video^ Well, winning gold once is good enough! :D
GeneralConfusionPlays if you gear them they are nasty, I like to give them coral blade, frost brand and shambler skins if they are intended for underwater, you trade out frost brand and give them posion immunity ring. basically gives you under water presence as long as you fighting independance
Awake 5f 4s 4b Baphomet with awe/twist fate/bloodsurge bless, 6 dominion, and your 3 favorite scales (probably at least some production for those chalice knights).
Teakwondo Chest Awe and Twist fate are incarnate blesses. Just made this guy to try him out with 2 order, 3 productivity, 1 misfortune, 1 drain scales. End of year 1 results: 19 provinces, 1 palisade with temple and lab, 1 palisade 2 months until completion, 4 expansion parties murdering everything not a throne.
Marignon can have insane expansion with an awake Virtue and a non-shit starting location, but they fall off mid-game but if you manage to keep your Virtue decently healthy you can have her hop around with insane map-move and flight to help defend critical territory. Survive into late game, they have literally awesome astral summons. Thugs and SC chassis (respectively) with awe, invulnerability, flight and a ton of item slots. Decent hero or two, too, if I remember correctly. You are right though, Marignon is an average to low strength nation.
Knights of the Chalice can be recruited out of every FORT that has a temple- flagellants can be recruited out of every PROVINCE with a temple. Slight difference to be honest- even if you could recruit knights literally everywhere, you would never get the resources to do it effectively.
GeneralConfusionPlays I suppose discussion over Discord or lessons or something or other. You explain very well and getting into a game such as Dominions 5 is incredibly intimidating. For example with me, I get the core mechanics of the game, however there are clearly certain elements within the game, like weapon types, magic spell quality, specific troop positioning and tactics, and so on that are difficult for me to learn, unless I put hundreds of hours into the game. (Tho I suppose I shud be doing that if I do wanna learn the game right?) I suppose I feel walking into the dark not knowing what to aim for because of so many different choices and so much information. Hope this makes sense.
@@MasterOfCybertron Thst certainly does make sense! Dominions 5 is a huge, intimidating game with a ton of interlocking systems. My strategy videos (hopefully) help you out a little, but there really is a huge amount of exploring to do.
I highly recommend checking out the discord channels. The reddit discord (Reddit Dominions) has mentor games regularly, the bigger channels (Dominions and Clockwork Hounds) always have veterans chatting in them, and forget what Pencil's discord is but he is sorta the new newb channel. Pretty sure they all have perma links here. www.reddit.com/r/Dominions5/
if you have enough paths with 3 you will get the bless point, makes raindom mage bless possible without completly tanking your scales. just pile all those weapon enchants on your scared and watch as solar weapons, magic weapons, posion weapons and decay weapons on most attacks
Specifically, if you have all the elemental paths at lvl3 or higher you will have access to their bless points (Air, Earth, Fire, Water) and/or if you have all the sorcery paths at lvl 3 or higher (Nature, Astral, Death, Blood) you will have access to their bless points. Has to be one set or the other, no mixing and matching elemental or sorcery paths. It was added to make rainbow mages more viable, however rainbow mages are still pretty awful 99% of the time so... yeah.
Oh, and I almost forgot the second part of your question- how can Marignon access Twist Fate with only 4 Astral? Marignon is special in that they get a bonus 2 astral bless points and 2 fire bless points, assuming you have enough fire/astral magic to actually have any bless points at all. So if you have S4F4, you effectively have S6F6 bless points. Other nations have their own special affinities, like how EA Agartha has +2 earth points and MA Agartha has +1 earth points, but Marignon takes the cake for having the most bonus bless points. The nation description will tell you if this applies, so don't worry about not getting the most out of your nation because you didn't happen to know about a specific nation's bonus bless points.
60 undead Command for Marignon
hail Undead Marignon Army
1. Spam crossbows
2. Research Flaming arrows
3. ???
4. PROFIT

We need to go deeper. Nationgen with random pretenders or riot.

Your best bet is expanding with your assassins, since you can churn out so many per turn.
Alexa De Los Rios yep, 3 of them can take 1 province every 2 turns
Marignon assassins are very unreliable without gear, is the problem.

You've got a LA Marignon god in a MA Marignon game there :P
So..... About that strategy video on MA Mari that you've done.
Shhhh - it's coming!

Teakwondo Chest because Awe and Twist Fate

Hopefully you run into some blood/death indies so your pretender can summon some magic diversity when he comes out in year 3.
Just pointing out since you didn't mention it but knights of the chalice can also be recruited anywhere with a temple.
Knights of the Chalice can be recruited out of every FORT that has a temple- flagellants can be recruited out of every PROVINCE with a temple. Slight difference to be honest- even if you could recruit knights literally everywhere, you would never get the resources to do it effectively.
They I play Marignon, I make my Troubadour to be my Prophet and spam crossbows for expansion.
Hey that's a pretty damn decent god as ma marri goes. Those scales are real nice, even if drain does hurt
Let madness rule!
Electric boogaloo
Hoo boy, this is going to be _good._
So, just out of curiosity, how exactly were the Pretender Gods randomly generated?
In the Pretender creation screen you can hit R to random gen a pretender.
Astral 10?! that will hurt!
hype
Thanks for the spoiler warning.
Do you coach Dominions 5 at all?
Coach? As in give lessons? Not at the moment, though I suppose if there's demand I could.

Only 3 points in nature and death and you still have a bless? Only 4 into astral and you have twist fate? What am I even looking at
