- That’s right, save your saves is back for FM22. I will be doing these more often but I wanted to give everyone the opportunity to really dig into their saves on the new Football Manager before I came in at the 11th hour to save the day. Or, let’s be honest, maybe I’m just coming in to see you brag about how well you’re doing in FM22. I get the feeling that is why some of you have submitted your saves to which I say how dare you clog up the helpline for those who actually have no idea which way the tactic screen is meant to be facing.
Honestly, though, I don’t care that much. It is cool to look at FM saves of all kinds to provide a wide range of advice from small tips or tricks to massive save overhauls with new tactics, scouting, and squad philosophy. Everyone gets to their own spot in their game and might need guidance from someone who plays it as a job, so I am happy to put on my lucky sweatpants and a fancy shirt to be the guide. I’ll see you all on stream because we have some serious work to do there too.

I feel it would be more interesting if people submitted more actual "disaster" saves where things are going poorly.
Most of these saves are really "I'm doing great but I'd like to do even better." It's still fun, but doesn't feel like there's much to "save" in most of these.
To be fair, most people probably give up on those disaster saves to start over with a new save instead of trying to save them.
@@loonyloser1733 True, I suspect that's what happens. But I recall earlier on when he first did these videos some people had submitted some actual relegation battle type saves. Which to me was way more interesting. A lot of these ones now are basically "look at my great wonderkids, but there are these other wonderkids who are even better who won't join me!" It that really a situation that needs to be "saved"?

Tbf if you are subscribed to Z then you really shouldn’t have a disaster save… the game is literally too easy. Having said that we have seen a few like the genius who loaned in reguillon at Barcelona to mentor dest with a monthly playing fee of like $50 million or something ridiculous.
@@SimersFM The other save that comes to mind was the one where a newly promoted side in one of the English lower leagues was the worst team in the league in 41 of 48 key attributes.
In my save Sanogo is a unemployed scout with judging ability at 3 and judging potential at 4....
In mine he’s one of the best players in Ireland, with a wage of 67K per year

Appreciate the help with Lommel Z! By the end of that season I lost my starting ST to a cheap release clause which opened a spot up for that 16 year old in the rotation and ended up winning the league after playoffs by 4 points. Will focus on more loans out and converting what potential I have at the club to try and crack past group stage. Thank you!

I managed to sign Andy Carroll on a free after winning the Vanarama, who is basically Sanogo's final form!

I love how a good amount of the advice in this was “you’re actually doing fine, you’re just in a rough patch/experiencing some growing pains, it will get better”
At this point I'm more and more convinced that Zealand should just replace Dr. Phil and save everyone. Instead of sending people to "the ranch" he sends people to play for IFK Mariehamn.
I lead Wrexham also, and I see that this guy have similar team like me. I'm first in League One now, and I have Sanogo god damn 105 games and 130 goals just in the league, 170 goals in three season. At my save he has 5.5k weekly so he is grateful player overall, and crazy goalscorer (and you get him for free in first season).
Wrexham is just easy mode they rich with super good players of like league 1 quality.
@@xazarl3381 Ok, I got what you are saying. I mean you have Jones and Mullin, Hayden is a beast in next few seasons. And you get 100k of starting budget (like no other team in VNL). So VNL is in the bag usually easy. But there are still problems, you are in VNL most of the "good" players won't come near you. You have Tozer with huge wage eating you budget and he is on downhill of career (yes he has a great long throw), also few other useless players that you can't dispose of (if you don't want to loose a huge chunk of money), and if you can keep Jones and Mullin after one good season (it will be the first season), you are loosing that league one quality players no way in hell for them to stay when for instance Hiberdian is offering money for Jones, and league one teams offering for Mullin. To cut the story short, yes on start you are "rich" and have "good" players, but what after season one and you are in league two? Budget little bigger (300-500k), wage little bigger (from 35k to 40k) and you lost the "good" players, then it starts to be fun. I am on the other hand in season three like I said, I'm first in league one (and my budget is like 500k still, yes I have bigger wage but still) and Yaya Sanogo rocks! And Tovide, Jaskalianen (great goalkeeper), Sitti and Westbrooke etc...
@@gamers4gamers260 What are you paying Sanogo? He's on 5k / week for me (in VNL) and I missed that his agent added a match higher earner clause so now I have to be careful whenever I sign someone!
@@WelshSscouser He is on 5.5k / w in my save. Third season, two more left. I don't know on what period did you sign him (years), but if you added highest earner (which I remember he also asked when I was singing him but it was negotiable for me so I removed it) you should negotiate as soon as possible for the new contract, especially if you are on the promotion run. You probably gave him crazy goal bonus also (in VNL he is going to score 70-80 goals in season with good set pieces) you should renegotiate that also. Better to give a little bit of a bigger wage then highest earner or crazy bonuses.

I have a save in the Welsh Premier League, Yaya Sanogo ended up signing for TNS (my main rivals) and dominated the league. He's been moving around clubs just banging in goals at this division, he's a cheat code.
this brought up so many memories.. like the serie A victory with Vicenza in 2019, or the Euroleague cup in 2020 with Rapid Vienna.. probably i'll give fm23 a try

Worth mentioning that there's a couple of discussion threads at the SI forums showing that the dynamic youth rating is very hard to move, the performance of individual teams has no effect at all, and the only thing that does anything is the performance of the national team. And even then, a lot of the most important variables are fixed, so the tiny movements in youth ratings have basically no effect.
Honestly right now there is simply no point in playing a build a nation save. Miles billed the dynamic youth rating as huge but it's just... Not. It's almost nothing at all.
Hopefully it'll get patched but developer comments make me doubtful. They think it's realistic (which I don't necessarily disagree with)
I think this is important. I'm a big Zealand fan but suggesting advice for Build a nation save is essentially misinformation as they don't work.
Yeah, this is right. I think the big bit they should change is make some of the other ratings variable - if you have a couple of clubs storming the champions league every year, that should make football incrementally more important in the nation over time, because people/kids are going to watch the game when young, some of them might start playing it etc.
@@red-xv5ki agreed… he also continually states that not seeing deadline day is a glitch which it is not, as it is only available to certain top leagues. Hope the dynamic youth rating / dynamics are increased because realism doesn’t make sense when the user is creating their own realistic path by building up a team and succeeding in continental compettiton etc.
@@cthulhudreams7578 completely agreed.. their bit about realism doesn’t make sense as it assumed that top clubs / nations today should be the same top clubs / nations in 20 30 40 years… I think there should be a balance so the game does not get out of wack but why promote a game changing feature for it to really not have much affect at all. Seems a bit shady

For the person Who did the IK Start save, instead of trying to increase your reputation in the CL try rather to win the Europa league or the confrance league. It is far easier then getting to the CL final that seems to be what you need to increase from 3star to 3n1/2. Thou if you win the CL you usually get to a 4star.
I would like if they reworked how you integrate youth players into the first team. It's very rare a player will just get called up to the first team without doing many first team training sessions first. But in FM you have to call them up to be able to do that.
you don't, go to the units page in training and you can get youth players to train with the first team

Zealand you should really do a video on the little known fact that Dynamic Youth Rating doesn’t work as most people think it does. Improving the infrastructure in a nation can actually lower the Nation’s Youth Rating. This was confirmed by SI on their forums

My Wrexham save is going very well, broke all point and scoring records in VNL and didn't lose a game.
In league 2 we're 4 point ahead of Bristol Rovers 20 games in to the season and only lost 2.

Really good video Z, however I think u just singing the word loan for 15 minutes straight was an interesting decision
For the person who can't sell his players for the right amount(doubt they'll read it but maybe it'll help someone.).
There is a bit of a gamey strategy to do it as the clubs in game of course know the real value of the player but, just like we all, just want to poach players cheaply from crappy leagues. You are their columbia basically. When a club comes in with an offer, let's say they offer 500k and you know the player would more reasonably got for 5 mil, just don't immediately decline it but simply ask for more. Now don't go for 5 mil as they'll just walk, but instead just go for so much that don't immediately accept but instead they'll renegotiate. I typically found that the sweet spot is double of what they are offering. So they offer 500k , you ask for 1 mil, they reneg to 650k you go for ~1.3, they reneg for 700k you go around 1.3 or 1.4 again. And so on, after attempt 4 or 5 they'll do the final offer and you just decline then if it's not acceptable still (or if you just misjudged and they accept then just decline as well).
They'll still want the player and next time around they might open with a 1 mil offer and then we start over.
Now it's not a game-breaker, so you can't keep doing that endlessly and extract 100 million from a vanarama national league team. You gotta be aware of how much money the team typically has (check transfer history and what they typically pay for example) and just how much worth your player actually is because they will just walk and lose interest if it becomes too much for them. And it's working less well in these newer version (hell, it absolutely was abusable in 2020 for example where you could sell absolutely crappy players for tens of millions that way.) where they sometimes just end up coming back in with a low offer again and it never raises further. But that way I've sold players out of the irish league for 20 mil when the initial offer was ~1 mil.
From my FC Nordsjaelland save, for like genuine wonderkids you have to just keep rejecting or keep asking for much more and hope you can keep the dynamics under control. If the players has enough takers eventually the bigger bids start coming in. I've just a sold a Mexican dude for over £80 million out of Denmark, even though initial bids for him were like £10 million, took about 6 months of me rejecting and renegotiating bids. Generally you have to work in over the window, as they get near the end the bids start going higher and higher.
1st save I did with Wrexham, got them to the EPL within 6 years, stayed up too.

I'm playing as eskisehirspor and galatasaray just beat us 2-0 at home which pisses me off, but then we're regularly in the CL knockouts while they can't do jack in the EL which pisses me off even more

I usually take the highest potential players to train with the first team and Play in youth teams, and when they hit 18 and they arę not ready to even be a good substitute I usually loan them to clubs where they will have a key or important player status do they cen develop

Hey Zealand, I was playing a Parma save (10/10 recommend it, having so much fun) I got promoted to Serie A on my first year with 30-something unbeatable streak. All of a sudden, around 20 loans came back from their loans and my finances went to shit (-10m$/year). What is the best thing to do in that situation. I sold a lot of good players and lost depth to my squad. Also i couldnt strengthen my squad..

I'm not sure my save is savable. I was in first place , 3 pts above Salsburg,after 11 matches( it took me TWO years to get promoted ,btw) .
Now ,I've given up 17 goals in the last 5 matches, after only conceding 10 in the first 11.
getting a ton of yellow cards ,even though i never tackle harder/get stuck in.
Getting consistent 4+ week injuries,regardless of training schedule. Playing schedule is normal, as I've faced top flight draws in every cup ( and lost).
My last match, I had 4 injured players and 3 suspended players in my starting 11.
I started playing with fm 20, so this is my 3rd year.
This is the year that I've pledged NOT to cheat, by looking at players CA/PA.
I was flying high, until these last 5 games.

Does the nation development work the same way outside of Europe? Ive been doing some Australian A-LEague saves and wouldnt mind doing this sort of thing to get better players coming through, but i dont know if its possible
I had a case with Dan Axel Zagadou in which was impossible to sell him. 25 million of market value, 50k/month in wages. I moved him to the b team, pissed him off, i even offered him for 2,5 million and still no offers. I think it was a bug. 4 seasons later he left because his contract expired...

In Ekstraklasa every club is on the same level. Cracovia, Jagiellonia, Wisła Kraków or every promoted clubs. So We can call Cracovia as power of Polish league
@@grzylu6706 Clubs are definitely not in the same level. Cracovia is relegation fodder. Clubs like Raków are power clubs, Cracovia's a Norwich type team.

in my wrexham save ryan and rob left the club after i got promotion the first season and its now owned by a fan consortium - won promotion in 2 consecutive seasons and it feels like i have absolutely no money compared to the rest of the championship lol

The scouting on my save seems to be linked to club rep. I only got worldwide scouting after my club repudiation reached worldwide.

So I've been doing a save with Celtic since the beta came out. I'm 2033 and I'm ranked number 1 in the world. I've gotten the league up to 6th as well. My reputation is max and I've won the CL for the last 5 or 6 seasons. I really don't have a problem beating the big teams like Man Utd, Bayern, Juventus. There has been times where I've beaten them 4 or 5 nil. Last season I took over Scotland as well and got them from 42nd to 23rd. I do have the in game editor and I can see the youth rating has only increased from 90 to 91. I'm confused about this dynamic youth rating. How long will it take for my domestic and national success to have a big impact on this? Will it take decades for Scotland to get a youth rating anywhere near that of England or the other big countries?
You need to start selling your Scottish players to people in your league. Boost the other teams quality.
Not to bum you out but I heard/read somewhere that increasing the dynamic youth rating is painfully slow as in 50 years to see any significant change... I guess it is somewhat realistic given that changing a whole nations "mentality" is a long proces.
From reading the forums people are not 100% sure dynamic youth rating is working as it should.

i just stop liverpool from buying Wijndal on transfer deadline day in my save, few hours after i read that Liverpool make a bid for Wijndal, i already full on my squad, and on the left back, but i still bid for him and offer a crazy amount of contract that he can't refuse and after he accept my offer i cancel the transfer with just a few hours left on the deadline day, Liverpool already got Mbappe in my save, and with Wijndal they will be unstoppable. so i think that's a decent move i just made.

Early 2020s tings are good, at some point the economy in FM 22 is gets totally broken due to heavy inflation in player wages at all clubs.

My highest earner on my Inverness save as Scottish Championship leaders (so far) is on £67k/y while the Wrehxam save has a dude on almost $500k/y!!

if you don't mind doing the same thing just to win my best advice to always win is:
Buy Pedri, Gavi, Nico and Fati and there you go, the perfect wonderkid team that if you keep them will become good enough to win everything XD, they are cheat at the start so should't be hard to get, is boring to always do it but hey if it works, just sell them later after winning what you want and get more original players after.
You should play 5 or 6 league games in some saves to show the improvments.

Hey Zealand, about the first save, you said that offering players on a "unspecified" price tag can scare other teams of going for that player, but how do I sell players otherwise? Since FM17 my go to tactic has been offering people on unspecified since when I put my price, the AI straight up isn't interested or offers something WAY lower, I tried to sell a player valued at €3.8 million for 5 million and the best offer I got was 1.7, but when I offered him on unspecified, I eventually could negotiate him to 4.2 million plus bonuses, how do I make the AI offer what I want?
(btw im currently on a Journeyman save with Akhasir Beledyspor in the 2nd division in Turkey, so the dude wages was 5k per week)
Sometimes you can try offering out for a reasonable amount which can help drive interest. If you get a number rod offers back you can decline those, and offer out for more. Basically you are trying to drive interest if you aren’t getting a ton of initial interest offering out unspecified

I hate play England for three reasons:
1. Man Udt OP since FM17 (when I started)
2. Work permits
3. In Football Manager you can really see that I'm German. You don't know how often I just stop contract negotiations because people want way to much money. I'm not paying that

How is he able to play in the saves? I started an online save with my friend but he quit but i want to keep on playing, is there a way to play the save without him?
Leading the Scottish premier all season and then DLW last three games and finished second, gutted. Playing as Aberdeen. Tricky situation now my wage budget has gone up a lot but if I sign players on to high a wage my current stars will want improved contracts and it’s not gone enough to give everyone a new contract.
I am yet to win the league with Dundee United so far. Celtic are just so far ahead and have been getting to the quarter finals in the champions league regularly. They scored 20 goals in their first 5 games this season so doubt I’ll be winning anytime soon.
@@united1990 it’s difficult to sign decent players because we’re not in the eu. Celtic bossed 2 season and rangers won the following 2 but only just beat for their 2nd.
Got to semis of the euro conference and to the semi of the euros the following year.
@@masterwesty yeah and trying to keep your good homegrown players is tough as well. Celtic have won every season in my save and I’m around 2025/6 I think. I have come second the last two seasons and this is my first time actually making it threw the playoffs to the CL group stage so the money was good and much needed. Good luck with the save man.
