damn, Audiotree once again showing us all why their name is what it is. literally the best audio of any Slothrust session currency on youtube. great work again, team!!
That drummer is the man! Love his style! Just found this band on spotify listening to Milking the Snake and instantly was hooked. Really digging their music!
no question that something that was lost for me for a long time was re discovered in the music of slothrust. they've come so far and its really rad to be able to see and hear them blow up. props to all involved
Its sessions like these where you can really tell that they all studied music in college, blues and jazz specifically. Not saying it's necessary but it is definitely great to see such trained musicians. Clean drumming from Will complimenting everything so well. Love you guys. See you soon
These guys are awesome! Talented all and on point. I especially love the older stuff, "Crockpot" "In a Sexual Way" "Happy Together"(cover) but the new stuff is great too. I hope they are around for a long time.
I love this session! It was a really great capture of Slothrust's awesome live presence. They did a great job of covering Leah, Kyle, and Will evenly. I keep rewinding to see how Will does some of those fills. And a few of Kyle's basslines. And I corrected myself seeing how Leah played Horseshoe Crab. It's almost like I'm back at Schubas in Chicago, except I can replay it over and over. Thanks for this session (and for the breakout in playlist).
Brandon Sullivan will’s fills man. His overall jams are some of my favorite to pay attention to, in an album. I like to practice drumming to music, and I struggle, straight up cannot play along to Slothrust 😂😂 And he makes it look so easy peasy. 💖
I just discovered Slothrust TODAY!!! I'm a musician... and all 3 of them are (I couldn't come up with an adjective that describes their quality). I'm a fan... They should be headliners...
Soooo underrated!! They are fucking so great live. Albums are all great. Leah, Kyle and Will!!! Will is a beast as a drummer, fuuuuuck. Love his jams. Leah is pure inspiration; as a musician and as a woman. Powerful, beautiful soul. Blown away at her abilities. Astonished and awe struck watching her play guitar. And Kyle, especially on the newest album, The Pact. His solo in Planetarium... love it every time I hear it. Talking to him in person, he is beyond charming. I’m obsessed and it’s okay, I’ll admit it. I start with Of Course You Do and end with The Pact. Through and through. Only way to go. Love you guysss 💖 Thanks for coming to MN!!!
Saw them open for Highly Suspect two weeks ago, and was instantly captivated by the sound and feelz! The last band to blow me out of the water like that was, Le Butcherettes opening for At The Drive In :)
Went through this bands entire discography before watching this and I never could put a gender on the lead singer. Not sure why it matters, but it was a really unique and visceral voice and it worked on so many levels.
Anyone know the chords to Sleep Eater? I know the basic chords are typical Dm -> Bb - F, but I think there's some add11 and 6 chords in there somewhere? There might be more but I can't tell.
I love how Leah never goes out of her way to try and look “sexy” or anything like that, she’s very pretty, but just looks like s normal person. She doesn’t try and have her looks be the center of attention. She’s a real musician and clearly lets her music and talents speak for themselves.
Ill cook for you all when your in town vegan only or veggie. A threeminute egg cereal and fruit, mixed in a drink with caffeine, fruit, tequilla, tincutre, and rice crispy treats.. let me know. I like eggplant, and lasagna vegan like runny but delicious.
What an underrated band, I hope they do more sessions like this one!
Butterslab check out their jam in the van sessions , good stuff
To this day they are underrated. Such a shame... they carry some of the best tone in modern garage rock.
@@64jakester it's sad but cool at the same time 'cause it's one of my secret banger bands. 👀👌🏽
0:43 - Mud
5:14 - Rotten Pumpkin
9:27 - Like A Child Hiding Behind You Tombstone
16:13 - Sleep Eater
22:56 - Horseshoe Crab
27:35 - Pigpen
Bless up
This F'n rules. Spent like 9 of the last 16 hours listening to Slothrust after finding this. So good.
man, this is one of those bands that just catches you, grabs you from the starts and they don't let you go! love 'em!!
damn, Audiotree once again showing us all why their name is what it is. literally the best audio of any Slothrust session currency on youtube. great work again, team!!
And also adding many new branches to my music taste tree.
@@OKNOWIMMAD12345678 That's a really great way to put it!

The drummer is a genius
Saw Manchester Orchestra live last night, and Slothrust opened, made for an awesome experience seeing my first live gig
I went to see Highly Suspect with Slothrust opening for them, I was blown away at just how talented these guys are, it's just nonstop rock.
I am seeing them both tonight and am so excited!
Amanda Curry hey hope the show was awesome, I cant wait to see them again soon.
Same
Vocal is almost punk-like.
They've got that ever so slight wonky edge to them and I love it
Yes!Thats whats so unique about them. There will be riff's that seem like almost a different genre. So good.

Their music gives an amazing energy

turizzmo1 crockpot is mind blowing
Thank you for the Love at :23.......this is Brian Chicoine from Truck Stop Troubadours :) :)

These guys have the whole package. A gem of a band.
I keep listening to this set. This band is amazing
This is the most amazing band I've come across since The Pixies
Go check out the solo on crockpot, it’s totally a pixies rip.
@@johnsmith-so5do The solo? Maybe the chord progression, but the solo is pretty unique to Slothrust I'd so
@@fishfur9530 so you can agree there probably an influence on sloth ?
@@johnsmith-so5do Yea, I think they're influenced by the Pixies, but I feel the influence is a bit overstated.

Try searching in a dictionary...

This was a slow burn for me, but it has grown on me and I love it now.
Saw these guys with The Fall of Troy and I was blown away. Awesome band. Awesome session.
Austin Flowers that's an awesome combo. So jelly.
Going to see them in Toronto tomorrow. I just discovered this band and I think they are just crazy awesome..can't wait to see them live.
Just saw them live last night and blew my mind. One of the best live performances Ive ever seen 🫡🫡🫡
I may need to catch these people in Denver in 2022.
Unreal session! I think I've found my new favourite band!
Sounds so nice
Saw these guys in Boise October 2019, such an amazing set. Way better live for sure
So goddamn talented, each of them.
I'm definitely going to see them at lollapalooza.
Saw them open for Highly Suspect two weeks ago, and was instantly captivated by the sound and feelz! The last band to blow me out of the water like that was, Le Butcherettes opening for At The Drive In :)
Joey Hamranhome had the same experience
I really love their version of Electric Funeral. It is really cool how they made their version of a cool Sabbath song
diggin the riffs
0:40 ok cool, I wasn't sure if it was Sloth-Rust or Slo-Thrust
Pretty good. They also get props for some of the coolest song titles around. How very metal of them.
they are the musicians man, so much individual talent pooled here and its frickin' amazing...I could fall with this damn band!
This is fantastic!
So fine!
Let's go Will! Long way since you tried to teach me power chords so that I could play Weezer songs in the Gibby music room.
Went through this bands entire discography before watching this and I never could put a gender on the lead singer. Not sure why it matters, but it was a really unique and visceral voice and it worked on so many levels.
they're nonbinary
Sick tone, great band
Got this album on vinyl about a month ago, and it is worn to fuck now. The musicianship in this band is absolutely tits!
Love em!
Goddamn she is a great guitar player and song writer
for future reference, they're nonbinary 🖤
the interviewer dude is the most hipster looking person I've ever seen
yep lol
Yeah - He also asks really interesting questions like... What is the name of your bus?... and how did you choose the name?
I found you.
bet he doesn't even know it, being a hipster is like being an alcoholic, the first sign of being a hipster is denial.
great sound!
This band is actually really good. The interviewer is pretty good too.
waiting for them to come to philly great jam
I need a live session of juice and everything from their first album!
Tone Deaf Taint Biscuits United juice is on their second record i think
yeah "Juice" is on "Of course you do" but I'm asking for "Juice" and "everything from their first album"
"Juice" is my favorite song.
Great set!
I'm in love with her. All that guitar and voice coming out of that girl. The lyrics are so dark to their songs too. I love it
Thank you slothrust. Isn't she 1 of the coolest chick's ever. . Amazing
Audiotree kicks ass oh my god
thank you :)
I like this!
Goddamn I still love Leah so much
I love Audiotree 🌲 because I discover good bands
0:22 what is that fkn chord, she's so raunchy i love it.
That's not a chord, probably a m2nd bend between the B and E string, with the bend on the B string making the tension palpable
it was a bend but my damn did it tap into the blues range...talent!
AHHH MY NAME IS GABE
Anyone know the chords to Sleep Eater? I know the basic chords are typical Dm -> Bb - F, but I think there's some add11 and 6 chords in there somewhere? There might be more but I can't tell.
What amp is Leah using for this set? It sounds awesome
How did she make her guitar sound like an organ
in case you're still curious it's probably some kind of octave pedal
I believe she uses a POG octave pedal.
By Jove, I think you've got it!
Who is their front person? She rocks on guitar AND vocals
Their name is Leah and they rockkkkkkk the riffs they write are amazing
This shit waaavey 🌊🎸
God I love when band geeks start a band.
Anybody know what pick ups she got in that JM?
Is that painter's tape on her guitar holding a pick?
jazzings its a switch that a lot of people tape on the kind of guitar she plays in this.
B-Money 666 got it, thanks
31:51 :)
Fuuuuuck that's why I love music
I love how Leah never goes out of her way to try and look “sexy” or anything like that, she’s very pretty, but just looks like s normal person. She doesn’t try and have her looks be the center of attention. She’s a real musician and clearly lets her music and talents speak for themselves.
she's my new crush haha
Reminds me a lot of Baak Gwai.

But how can a sloth rust?
Cyborg Sloth
They do move so slow that algae grows on them, maybe that's the sloth equivalent to rust
Right... and how can you slo thrust?
I wish there was a version of this without the inane awkward chit-chat from man-bun
The jars clarity may not be that great but it's contents are divine.
This session is on spotify, without the chit chat in between, and each song is separated.
He's not overly exited and shaking

Leah has that kinda Judy Greer thing going on when she's talking here, and she looks better than ever.I like hair brunette better tho.Great Band.
Do you have an opinion on the bassist's hair, I have been waiting for 11 months
Bassist looks like Badger from Breaking Bad haha
And that kids, is how you do music...get rid of your laptops and shit..play real instruments
Trent Reznor proves the two aren't mutually exclusive
