Loved the Time Laps Dean, Hi Amy by the way nice to see you spend time with your dad I remember when I was about your age I only Went Fishing with my dad didn't really enjoy it tbh, think something like this is brill & even more so to get away from Computers & Tv's for the night too !! x
+David's Vlogs thanks for watching David, this was some great quality father daughter time. She isn't as interested now 2 or 3 years later, she isn't a fan of up hills anymore :-) ATB
Hi Dean, your videos are so good, I can’t believe how long ago this was. I’m looking to do my first solo camp here. I hope you do some more camps soon. Cheers, Dave
Colin, yes I'm considering getting back into lightweight camping so a luxe hex peak is a consideration, just depends if I can smuggle one past her indoors.
Thanks for video. I’m hoping to do my first wild camp up there in the next week or so. Looks lovely, been up before but cloud was down and pouring with rain. Hoping for better weather!
Really useful to see the Zephyros pitched..I bought one 2 years ago on a whim and am still working up to doing a first wild camp!! Maybe this year.....
Another great video Dean :) Very enjoyable to watch. My friend has that Karrimor tent, and said he had to make a few modifications to it. Inluding putting some spring washers on the poles of where that vent is, to stop them slipping through the rivets. He has added a few guylines aswell im sure. It doesnt seem to move in the wind as much after his slight adjustments in any case, :)
I might try doing the same, it's not a bad little tent to say I think it only sold for about £40-£50 when I originally looked. My daughter likes it anyway so it can be hers :-) be interesting to see how well it stands up to tough weather but I doubt I'll take my daughter out in anything but nice weather so I don't put her off.
Excellent, Im currently using a Karrimor tent aswell. The "Elite Ridge 2" model. Semi Geodesic, decent loking spec, £65 at the time at which I bough it. It's done me well really.
We had some excellent views that night, really lucky with the weather too even if it was a little cold during the night. Thanks for watching mate, hope you get out in the Peaks soon
Thank you Dean, superb views here. I am gradually working my way through the rest of your videos buddy and learning all the time. Do you have any videos where you discuss your gear as I'm just putting together my kit? Take care and poor Amy looked damn cold! Take care Dr Paul.
Great video Dean :-) Looks a lovely place with fantastic views. Nice weather but chilly but well worth it. Nice to see those time lapse :-) . can you really put a tent in the washing machine ???
Cheers Paul, it is a great spot an we really were treated to some great weather. Yeah I've put one in the wash before, with NikWax tech wash etc :-) same stuff I use for washing my Goretex jacket
Another great video. Wish I was there. Good to see Amy this time. That goPro certainly produces some great images, what was the other camera you used. The one with the motor drive?
The GoPro is excellent, I honestly can't fault it one bit, I love it... The other camera I used was my Canon 550D with it's 18-55mm kit lens that you also bought me :-) in fact, pretty much all the gear / technology I have was either gifted by yourself or Lisa
Awsome video mate, i have a daughter maybe a year or two younger than Amy & was thinking of taking up camping. We live in Sheffield (not far away) and any advice would be welcome such as what tent to buy, what to bring etc thanks
In summer it's easy, just a tent (I'd recommend Wild Country Zephryos 1 or Vangoo Banshee 200) and sleeping mats & bags. Possibly a stove to make a tea/coffee with in the morning if you wish but any cheap stove would do. Plenty of great campsites in Peak District (Fieldhead at Edale) or just head up the hill like we did. Hope you have fun when you go, I'm itching to get out again soon but work is getting in the way :-) thanks for watching and commenting
hi dean love you videos mate they are awesome! i had my first walk in the peak district last week, 24/4 , followed one of your routes up to kinder scout, edale is one of the most beautiful places i have ever been to, the weather was lovely, iam planning to wild camp up there soon, could you please advise me a good place to leave my car, as i used the pay and display car park in edale, thanks dean atb.
Thanks for that advice dean, cant wait to get up there and camp! its all i think about, i took my son up pendle hill easter sat , that was only his second walk, dont want to put him off by taking him up to far in the peaks, so ive decided to check them out myself, by the way we love watching you adventures, up on the peaks, atb mate keep them coming! :)
I did the same with my daughter, was worried about putting her off so kept the mileage and the ascent down. Thanks again mate, I'll certainly keep them coming :-)
+Colin Pearce hi Colin, I've been looking at the Luxe Hex Peak myself as a replacement for the Zephyros. It looks like a really great value shelter but I'm yet to see one in the flesh. My friend Graham (Black73Cat) had the Luxe Mini Peak which is also good but I do prefer the Hex Peak. Are you thinking of getting one too? I just need to put some money aside and bite the bullet :-) ATB, Dean
Enjoyed that mate. Looks completely different in that early morning light. Absolutely stunning. I must get out sometime and try this wild camping lark.
Cracking stuff Dean. I have to say, when you get those sunsets and Sunrises up in the Peaks, the place looks as good as anywhere in the world. We're lucky to live on the doorstep. And when you've got it all to yourselves, well, that's just as good as it gets. Off to Thors Cave this weekend, let's hope the weather holds. All the very best and thank you, Andy
Thanks for watching Andy. I know what you mean, I was certainly counting my blessings during both sunset & sunrise. I feel lucky to have such an amazing place on my doorstep. Hope you have a good time at Thor's Cave
Thanks for watching mate, it certainly was a night to remember. I'm going to drag my daughter out camping again during the summer holidays all being well :-)

Glorious
Such a nice spot for a camp out. Love the feeling when you're walking up and everyone else is walking down. Good to have the place to yourself !
That's always a good feeling isn't it, it really did feel like we had the hills to ourselves that night. Thanks for watching mate
no worries mate, what an amazing sunrise. Thats why we do it!
It sure is, I was treated at sunset and sunrise on this adventure
P.S. The valley I time lapsed at sunrise was the Vale of Edale that I thought would be a great spot for you to head with the Phantom
I thought so. I will def have to pay you/it a visit mate

Go for it :-) I honestly can't fault the Zephyros for the money. It's a great tent.
Alright dean. Another well made video... love edale and the surrounding area's.
Cheers Gary, I love that part of the Peaks too, especially when the weather is like it was in the video :-) thanks for watching and commenting
