Overall I thought this comp was pretty solid, though there is a lot of room for improvement. Some of the tracks had great ideas, but were executed rather poorly. Flak Jacket, Monkey Dance, Full Power, and Barbaric were especially like that. I liked every track to some extent except for Who Dem VIP, which felt very empty and boring, and it completely disregards what made the original good. My favorite track is Mercia. I love how the hard-hitting tearout sound matches so perfectly with the Viking aesthetic. The production is so well polished too. Also, the community's "worst track", The Bag Man, is not so bad IMO. I heavily appreciate what Terravita was going for, and I liked it when I first heard it in the teaser. The final product was... rather disappointing, especially due to the mixing, but it's still better than just "straight up bad". I do agree with your take on this track, it does sound pretty messy and aimless. Also, love your videos!
The one that is stuck in mind now is Full Power by Chibs. Too bouncy to leave alone. Favorite for now is probably Merica by SampliFire, it really gets my brain into another headspace which I love. Gotta say I lost it when you heard The Bag Man. I get what your thoughts are on that track but I can't help to take it seriously for me. I appreciate what sounds are in it but I really understand how it's lacking and not being the best ending track for the compilation. Have a Merry Christmas Connor!
mercia was an absolute banger. the drop might not be that creative but the industrial sounds with the viking intro was simply mind boggling. bonus brownie points for the fake out at the first drop
Terravita - The Bag Man has to be my favorite song on this compilation. The sheer complexity of sounds, they're place in the mix, the 30000 IQ arrangement made my jaw drop. Truly ahead of its time
For real tho, it's not that bad tbh. It'll probably be listened again by a VERY specific group of people, but it's nice to have some DnB on a major label.
To be fair, you have to have a very high IQ to understand The Bag Man. The idea is extremely subtle, and without a solid grasp of theoretical musical composition most of the concepts will go over a typical listener's head.
My top 3 (not in any order): Chibs - Full Power Samplifire - Mercia Modestep - Solastalgia Bottom 3: Terravita - The Bag Man The Bag Man - Terravita The Vita - Terrabagman
It was announced that Fox did try to get a song into the comp, but his live tour got in the way of him submitting his tune,. Maybe next time. need more Fox Dubstep in my life

Good comp, some of my stand outs are the tracks from Modestep, Ecraze, Infekt, and Mvrda. I was not expecting much from Mvrda and Ecraze, but they blew me away with these tracks. I am indifferent about the Virtual Riot track it's actually my favorite track from this comp! I absolutely love the simple drop it's just so catchy and been listening to it non stop! Definitely my favorite VR track of 2021 I'd say this was an overall solid Album, had a lot of tracks I liked more than others, PhaseOne, Barely Alive, Chibs, Ray Volpe and Eliminate tracks were all good!
My Top 5 of the Album: 1. Samplifire - Mercia 2. Oliverse - Don’t Trip 3. Barely Alive - Flak Jacket 4. INFEKT - Monkey Dance 5. Modestep - Solastalgia Ngl I really like almost all of the tracks. Also Around Here smacked really hard, but its not my top 5. I also agree with the most things Connor said. Great job everyone!
My top 5 in no specific order is: SampliFire - Mercia Bainbridge & Virus Syndicate - Around Here Modestep - Enemy VIP Oliverse - Don't Trip Eliminate - Let You Go
Pretty solid compilation overall. There's also a new Teminite album that's really solid and I was wondering if Connor has heard it already or could perhaps do a review. Would be interesting to see his thoughts on the whole project
@@captainluke6953 What else did it need? Lol. And even then I'd argue there was more than just "Pirate." The Kraken, Ghost Ship, Sail Away, The Deep, Hell Raiders, Electroctopi, and Thundering Typhoons. There, that's over half the album right there, meaning the album is not all just "Pirate." If every song was like Sesh the Seven Seas or Plunder then yes the album would just be "Pirate."
Ok, I just finished watching the video and I have to say my favorites were: Flat Jacket, Let Me Go, Don't Need You, Don't Trip, New Hope, Death Track, Blindfold, Pretty Much, Solastalgia, Mercia, Around Here, Enemy VIP, Full Power and Barbaric. The last three songs of the compilation were really bad, at least for me. Felt like Myro put didn't any effort at all to the VIP, just remove the vocal and that's it. While so many people made remixes to that song and they sounded WAY better. While Dodge & Fuski had a solid idea, but really bad mixing and Terravita - The Bag Man as you said was scatter. The intro for me felt lackluster and it had to many high frequencies and it was so long.
Flak Jacket - Barely Alive (10/10) Karate Killer - Bandlez (8/10) Don't Need You - Virtual Riot (8/10) Let You Go - Eliminate (8.5/10 just for that second drop) New Hope - Graphyt (7/10 not a fan of the buildup and that second drop, but song's ok) Blindfold - Dirtyphonics (10/10) Don't Trip - Oliverse (10/10) Death Track - Ecraze (9/10) Pretty Much - Ray Valpe (8/10) Monkey Dance - INFEKT (7/10) Solastalgia - Modestep (9.5/10) Mercia - Samplifire (8/10) Around Here - Bainbringe & Virus Syndicate (6.5/10) Enemy VIP - PhaseOne (8/10) Full Power - Chibs (9/10) Barbaric - MVRDA (7.5/10) Myro - Who Dem Vip (5/10) We Pop Dat - Dodge & Fuski (6/10 not quite excellent but an improvement since 10 Years Too Late) The Bag Man - Terravita (1/10)
Very much a tale of two halves, but imo it’s an improvement over vol 6. It’s frontloaded with the best tracks, but the standouts stand TALL. Some of my favorite work in years from some of the artists, Ray Volpe and Barely Alive especially. At the same time I feel kinda bad for some of the artists in the second half. Some of those tracks sound like they were slapped together out of sheer obligation and I hope the artists are doing alright. Still, even if there’s a few flops it’s a fun listen and I know I’ll be coming back for a long while. Personal top 5: Pretty Much, Flak Jacket, Don’t Need You, New Hope, Don’t Trip
Imo Bainbridge track was the best one. I don't think people realize how hard it is to mix all those elements without it clashing with each other. The sound design and MIXDOWN is godly. I might just be fanboying too hard lol
I really love the SampliFire tune because mmm yes tearout, but I must say Ecraze was easily the highlight of the comp. His new style is incredible, but what really carries his new style is the orchestral stuff; this guy is Hans Zimmer and riddim combined into one. As for my least favorite, Who Dem VIP sadly takes it (Bag Man would have been one of my top picks if it wasn't so messy). There's like no originality and it's literally copy + paste the original but take away the vocals. Here's my review for the rest of the comp: Barely Alive - Flak Jacket: Very creative but also very staple BA, and that slower tempo switch is insane Bandlez - Karate Killer: Production is very good, would like it more if it was more unique (they literally copied + pasted the main bass from Straya) Virtual Riot - Don't Need You: How can you not like this? It's Virtual Riot; production is top-tier, and there's always something new despite the same genres being made Eliminate - Let You Go: Also one of the best producers on the comp, Nate really has insanely high standards for his music, and this is no exception. If anything, he set the bar much higher for himself with this one. Graphyt - New Hope: You wouldn't expect the drops to work, but they work extremely well. Not very many people have pulled off a track where melodicness and heaviness are perfectly balanced and very high. Dirtyphonics - Blindfold: More generic Dirtyphonics, but they somehow make all their tracks interesting despite using that same detuned bass every time Oliverse - Don't Trip: What's not to love about this? While it's staple Oliverse, there's always something interesting with his tracks that just keeps your attention. Ray Volpe - Pretty Much: An excellent combination of staple Ray Volpe with his more experimental side. You'd expect this to be kinda boring because of the title, but it's the opposite. Infekt - Monkey Dance: The Chicken Dance of the 21st century, but way less cringier. I just love how fun Infekt's tracks have become; it shouldn't always be about severing necks all the time, and thankfully Infekt's here for us to have some fun. Modestep - Solastalgia: I really want to enjoy this, but the kick just ruins it for me. It's just too distorted and ends up sounding like a bass-boosted fart (I've run into that same mistake). Excellent idea, though, I will give it that. SampliFire - Mercia: mmm yes the heavy! This is a bit of a step down from Berserker and Helheim, but it's still really good, although the sustain bass can get stale pretty quickly. Bainbridge and VS - Around Here: Is it just me or is VS getting kinda stale now? It also feels like their vocal performances have been stripped of energy lately. Fortunately, Bainbridge made up for it and made something pretty nice! PhaseOne - Enemy VIP: I'm so getting cancelled for this, but I don't care. This completely stripped the hype and enjoyment of the original and gave it some tearout drops that just fall flat on their face. I'm sorry, but while I'm a sucker for tearout, this doesn't work for me. Chibs - Full Power: A step down from Knock Knock, but Knock Knock was one of his best tunes, so I'm not surprised. Still, this goes, well, full power! His signature bitcrushed clap sample always feels off to me, but it doesn't make the song worse in any way. MVRDA - Barbaric: I like his deathstep stuff a lot better than his riddim stuff, but this is one of the best I've heard from him in a while, albeit repetitive. D&F - We Pop Dat: They didn't exactly pop off on this one; just another briddim song that sounds exactly like budget Virtual Riot. Definitely better than some of their other tunes, though. Terravita - Bag Man: If my opinion for Enemy VIP didn't cancel me, this probably will. The idea is amazing, and it would have been one of my favorites if it didn't drag on for eternity and if it wasn't a mess. If these issues were fixed, this would have been perfect for like a villain chase theme for a 80s-era superhero movie.
Don't care what anyone says about "The Bag Man", I like it because it reminds me of old video games I used to play when I was a kid. Yes, it's overdone, but I still like it nonetheless. And no, I'm not being sarcastic. Y'all can suck on that!
I have to admit I was a little disappointed by the virtual riot tune - but anyone who knows VR knows that’s hardly a slight. the production quality is completely consistent with what we’ve come to expect, I just didn’t find it that captivating. it didn’t hit that “pocket” that most VR tunes do
Love your stuff as always but I wish you would focus more on the underground stuff. I get it's more work required on your behalf but I love your reactions on the less heard.
a while back he said hes working on reforming the channel in some way, and that he’s only gonna upload the big releases until the end of the year. I’m sure he’s got a lot planned for next year

@@joshcullen1255 him and disciple have parted ways. can't help but notice it happened alongside sexual assault allegations towards him but no official reason from either party to my knowledge.
I feel that this was a lot better than the previous compilation, but I want to express what I thought specifically on a specific track, We Pop Dat by Dodge a& Fuski. I don't know what to say that won't come as extremely harsh, but it's just so tasteless and hasn't been colorful in several years from these two. It almost feels like they lost what they had long ago and decided to just throw everything on to a track to just get onto a compilation. I have to say this though, Dodge & Fuski's tracks are just not for Disciple anymore, with everyone just progressing rapidly with more freshness in their production, while they just fail to produce anything worth mentioning and it's just sad. At this point, it might be time for them to stop producing and it sounds extremely rude, but I just cannot find any sort of enjoyment from them, and it just feels absolutely lazy with no feeling. The last time they had something decent was nearly 5 years ago with the Pretty Good Ep and has not lived to expectations since. I had to rant a little because it seems on every compilation from Disciple so far, they have been every single one and every single one of them is flavorless in my eyes. I don't know let me know what you guys think, do you agree or disagree?

I am indifferent about the Virtual Riot track it's actually my favorite track from this comp! I absolutely love the simple drop it's just so catchy and been listening to it non stop! Definitely my favorite VR track of 2021 I'd say this was an overall solid Album, had a lot of tracks I liked more than others, PhaseOne, Barely Alive, Chibs, Ray Volpe and Eliminate tracks were all good!
Barely Alive, Graphyt and Ray Volpe are probably the highlights imo
My Top 5 of the Album:
1. Samplifire - Mercia
2. Oliverse - Don’t Trip
3. Barely Alive - Flak Jacket
4. INFEKT - Monkey Dance
5. Modestep - Solastalgia
Ngl I really like almost all of the tracks. Also Around Here smacked really hard, but its not my top 5. I also agree with the most things Connor said. Great job everyone!
THANK YOU, I've been waiting for this review!!!
We all did haha
Please review teminite's new album! 100% one of the top things released this year.
That Mercia by Samplifire goes hard af 🔥
Banger video, this comp was so worth the wait imo
Ok so the first half is so much better than the rest but that's no complaint
My top 5 in no specific order is:
SampliFire - Mercia
Bainbridge & Virus Syndicate - Around Here
Modestep - Enemy VIP
Oliverse - Don't Trip
Eliminate - Let You Go
oliverse warned you but you tripped on enemy vip's producer
modestep - enemy vip??
@@AlphaExtraction yeahhhh i messed up, i meant PhaseOne. i honestly don't know how i managed that.
that reaction to bagman got me shitting myself
*_Love that you always have such an in depth take on these projects!_*
I had my own take on the album, but in form of a DJ Mix hahah 🎧
#Bass forever 😎
Ecraze fucking killed it. He keeps getting better and better, can’t stop listening to the tune
Pretty solid compilation overall. There's also a new Teminite album that's really solid and I was wondering if Connor has heard it already or could perhaps do a review. Would be interesting to see his thoughts on the whole project
Yea that album is slightly off for some reason. I want to like it but it’s just not rlly got much going on except “Pirate”.
He just streamed a first listen today…
Yeah he streamed his live reaction today, he said he will upload his reaction on TH-cam in like a week probably
Yesh I been waiting so long for his thoughts. Glad he's going to post his reaction.
@@captainluke6953 What else did it need? Lol. And even then I'd argue there was more than just "Pirate."
The Kraken, Ghost Ship, Sail Away, The Deep, Hell Raiders, Electroctopi, and Thundering Typhoons. There, that's over half the album right there, meaning the album is not all just "Pirate."
If every song was like Sesh the Seven Seas or Plunder then yes the album would just be "Pirate."
Really enjoyed this comp, lotta bangers on it.
Also I'm one of the VERY few people who enjoys We Pop Dat and The Bag Man.
I think 'The Bag Man' could've been better if it was better mixed and less messy, to be fair. 'We Pop Dat's main bass is pretty muffled, too.
@@NVOmusicYT I still appreciate the idea on it, it's cool to see Terravita make more DnB.
@@nickdelong8334 Yeah, I like their idea and new direction. Just wished they spent more time at the production tho
We pop dat is in my top 3 fav from this alliance 🔥💪🏾
Wait, people DON'T like We Pop Dat? The fuck?
It's become my new favourite Dodge & Fuski Track of all time.
Ok, I just finished watching the video and I have to say my favorites were:
Flat Jacket, Let Me Go, Don't Need You, Don't Trip, New Hope, Death Track, Blindfold, Pretty Much, Solastalgia, Mercia, Around Here, Enemy VIP, Full Power and Barbaric.
My favs were font need you, flak jacket and solastalgia
I will literally be singing the vocal sample from solastalgie for weeks, probably oliverse's track as well
Flak Jacket - Barely Alive (10/10)
Karate Killer - Bandlez (8/10)
Don't Need You - Virtual Riot (8/10)
Let You Go - Eliminate (8.5/10 just for that second drop)
New Hope - Graphyt (7/10 not a fan of the buildup and that second drop, but song's ok)
Blindfold - Dirtyphonics (10/10)
Don't Trip - Oliverse (10/10)
Death Track - Ecraze (9/10)
Pretty Much - Ray Valpe (8/10)
Monkey Dance - INFEKT (7/10)
Solastalgia - Modestep (9.5/10)
Mercia - Samplifire (8/10)
Around Here - Bainbringe & Virus Syndicate (6.5/10)
Enemy VIP - PhaseOne (8/10)
Full Power - Chibs (9/10)
Barbaric - MVRDA (7.5/10)
Myro - Who Dem Vip (5/10)
We Pop Dat - Dodge & Fuski (6/10 not quite excellent but an improvement since 10 Years Too Late)
The Bag Man - Terravita (1/10)
maybe the tearout vibe from the bandlez tune comes from the fact its literally the smae as shiver by trvcy but in bandlez sound
that was the best chibs song ever!!
47:51 " It just sounds messy man".
me: oh youre in for a treat for the next one man
Great video🔥
49:13 XDDDDDDDD
Samplifire is my Fav NSD/ Disciple Producer 😩😩😩💓
Hello, Connor Whitmore, wonderful people here
Imo Bainbridge track was the best one. I don't think people realize how hard it is to mix all those elements without it clashing with each other. The sound design and MIXDOWN is godly. I might just be fanboying too hard lol
I liked the Modestep track the most. Other ones would include Virtual Riot's, Oliverse's, Barely Alive's, and Ray Volpe's.
i loved the virtual riot track tbh, im biased towards his sound design tho its very nice,,, those eliminate and ecraze songs were so good tho
It didn't feel super original imo but it's been stuck in my head since I heard the preview and I can't say I don't love it regardless.
Sometimes you make faces like Dubstep hurts your feelings. Great review btw
Disciple DONT MISS ⚔️
I was waiting for your video 🔥
Top 3
1.Flat Jacket
2.Solastalgia
3.The Bag Man(fuck off i just can't move on from it lmao)
A little sad that we couldn't see Fox on this Vol but I knew he was pretty busy with touring and what not.
Here's my review for the rest of the comp:
Barely Alive - Flak Jacket: Very creative but also very staple BA, and that slower tempo switch is insane
Bandlez - Karate Killer: Production is very good, would like it more if it was more unique (they literally copied + pasted the main bass from Straya)
Virtual Riot - Don't Need You: How can you not like this? It's Virtual Riot; production is top-tier, and there's always something new despite the same genres being made
Eliminate - Let You Go: Also one of the best producers on the comp, Nate really has insanely high standards for his music, and this is no exception. If anything, he set the bar much higher for himself with this one.
Graphyt - New Hope: You wouldn't expect the drops to work, but they work extremely well. Not very many people have pulled off a track where melodicness and heaviness are perfectly balanced and very high.
Dirtyphonics - Blindfold: More generic Dirtyphonics, but they somehow make all their tracks interesting despite using that same detuned bass every time
Oliverse - Don't Trip: What's not to love about this?
15:00 the most insane fakeout ive ever seen
Yay! Thank you. Can't wait till watch this
love with Eliminate - Let You Go 🖤🖤🖤
Don't care what anyone says about "The Bag Man", I like it because it reminds me of old video games I used to play when I was a kid. Yes, it's overdone, but I still like it nonetheless.
And no, I'm not being sarcastic. Y'all can suck on that!
Disrtyphonics were my number 1 pick, followed by phaseone and BA
Definitely Flak Jacket, Don't Trip and Death Track are my favourites
It's funny that the bag man is the last song terravita ever produced after completely falling off the face of the earth.
Solstalgia is unbelievably great. One of my favorite tunes this year
I hate the fact that nobody talking about how awesome Eliminate's tune was
The drop was like a haymaker to a face in the best way
The man doesn't miss
I have to admit I was a little disappointed by the virtual riot tune - but anyone who knows VR knows that’s hardly a slight. the production quality is completely consistent with what we’ve come to expect, I just didn’t find it that captivating. it didn’t hit that “pocket” that most VR tunes do
I agree with you on this one
Agreed. For me his best of 2021 is either neon angel or this could be us his lp was soooooo good
I got that tearout vibe aswell from bandlez 👌
I've always wondered why u don't talk About the producer before getting into his tune
Best ones were by Eliminate, Ecraze and Bainbridgw
Lazer Dragon by bandlez was Tearout I'm pretty sure
Some of those are solid, some are just pain
Samplifire - Mercia = Marauda's Nightmare xD
Please tell me you'll be reviewing the new BTSM EP I would love to hear your thoughts on it.
I love Solastalgia so much
Was waiting for a “Ooyyy!!” in this compilation… Didn’t get one this time. Lol
Yeah you did! in Pretty Much
@@NZsaltz 😂😂 Damn! You’re right! Can’t believe I didn’t catch that! Nice save, brotha. 🤝🤙
You know the song is good when he turns french
Love your stuff as always but I wish you would focus more on the underground stuff. I get it's more work required on your behalf but I love your reactions on the less heard.
a while back he said hes working on reforming the channel in some way, and that he’s only gonna upload the big releases until the end of the year. I’m sure he’s got a lot planned for next year
Sigh but then we'll be hearing more of things like Yookie
@@glarfl I must have missed that, well that's good to know cheers
not the full roster. Fox stevenson is still signed to disciple but couldn't get a track since he was busy touring. would have been nice to have him on but what can you do
What's the go with 12th ? Did he feel like sitting out on this one?
@@joshcullen1255 him and disciple have parted ways. can't help but notice it happened alongside sexual assault allegations towards him but no official reason from either party to my knowledge.
@@GavHern fuck! That's the first time me hearing about sexual assault allegations towards 12th!
I feel like it's so common in the music industry now these days, especially with EDM artist
@@joshcullen1255 nah its more with the rap industry
I’ll definitely agree on the point that the new song is kinda trash tbh
Dodge and fuski fell off after their song want it in 2017
Dodge and fushki is the founder of disciple so they dont try so hard
@@paoworkfromhome there's not trying and then there's just taking the piss out of the genre. No effort was put into their song at all. #compfiller

Kinda love and hate the Samplifire tune simultaneously. Favortite tunes are from VR. Ray Volpe, Oliverse, Modestep and PhasOne.
