    You’re probably in a tent somewhere in hearty deer habitat right now. Awesomeness for sure. Just wanted to hopefully get the message to you and to others that come across this tuning segment. I watched the modified version and walked away feeling pretty bummed that I’ve done every type of tuning I’ve ever come across. This is by far the best centershot tune I’ve ever seen. I was bummed because I shoot daily wind rain hurricane idc. So I feel pretty good about my accuracy up until this video. So the next day I couldn’t wait to get modified. Now this sounds a little bragadocious but really I’m just stoked and proud of my results. Long story short I have no bow shop equipment or have I ever had a pro shop tune my bow. So string test, hit #1 arrow, broke string on second shot. 🤯 ran a perfectly plumb tape and moved back. ( this whole time thinking how dang accurate you were) 20 yards all 3 shots center tape. 🤯 what? So all I have is 30y in the yard I was in so that’s where I moved next thinking moving my rest was next. Well again to my amazement I was dead on again! Welp that was easy lol! So today I had to get out to 60 just because that’s what you did. Super windy today but rain or shine, warmed up at 30. Set up at 40 with my spotter and started groups inside 6”. Oh forgot to mention how much trust I gained in my equipment doing this the first day. I did need to make elevation changes to my pins but it’s micro adjust so knocked out 40 again 6” groups😳. Last 30 min out daylight I got out to 50 and man when that centershot is on point, it’s just a matter of me fine tuning my elevation using my pins. (Really didn’t want to mess with my rest just yet.) so thanks to your modified tune, I had 11 arrows in the center ring at 50 by sundown. Really help my confidence more than anything since now I know it’s me and not the bow tune. Long story but hey, thanks for the video posts! Great method.

    I love this approach and it makes a lot of sense, thank you! One question though please? If you don't papertune, how would you know that your arrows are not coming out tail high or low?

    • @SomewhereInWisconsin
      @SomewhereInWisconsin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I typically run my arrow perfectly level, and haven't had issues. But...if it is off slightly, I will notice it when I broadhead tune at the end.

    This series is awesome, probably watched it 3x theough while waiting on my arrows to arrive.
    To make sure I'm understanding... You french tune first, then paper tune? Presumably to nock tune arrows? Or are you not paper tuning at all, and going straight to walkback tuning after your 3/10 yard tune?

    • @SomewhereInWisconsin
      @SomewhereInWisconsin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When I do this method I skip paper tuning. If you do a really good job with the Mod French tune, minimal adjustments woth walk back. Then I just turn nocks of arrows that are not grouping.

    • @SomewhereInWisconsin
      @SomewhereInWisconsin  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Reason I skip paper tuning is because when I go to walk back I'll make minor adjustments anyways.

    Love your videos!! Since you seem like a very knowledgeable guy to go to for questions I definitely have a couple. So last year I got a 2017 PSE Drive R very nice bow i was impressed with how it felt so i got it on a trade. A couple days after getting it I notice I was having problems staying consistent. I took it to a local bow tech and he did some work tuning it. Got the bow back he said the string stretched so instead of shooting 60lb I was at like 53lbs. That being said I hunted with it and while in the stand i noticed a splinter in one of the limbs. After that I hung it up. Fast forward to this summer. I got it in a bow shop he ordered new limbs for it I bought a custom string for it and he tuned it. Got it back eager to get sighted in I went to shoot it still was not accurate as I wanted it to be still all over the place at 20 yards!! I put more weight to the bow which helped alot. But when I put my slicktricks on they flew way different. I have been bow hunting for 9 years and know how I shoot. There's some variables that i think may help. This bow has a wiskerbiscuit all my other bows had qads, this bow I'm shooting 320 spine arrows when I usually shoot 400 spine arrow. Generally shoot 60-70lb my arrow length is 26 1/2in. Sorry if it's a book but its getting to the point where I'm going to get rid of it. I dont want to being all the money I've sank into it. Do you think I should get a dropaway rest and a set of 400spine arrows?

    Great video & I am going to try this out, I’ve got just one question. For me with a new to me bow and new arrow setup, how do I know arrow flight isn’t giving false results if I don’t paper tune first?

    • @SomewhereInWisconsin
      @SomewhereInWisconsin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      What's a false result? This is just an alternative way to tune. Once you complete the whole process, your arrows will be hitting in a vetical line for your walk back tune, which says youbare good to go!

    • @chrismartin5340
      @chrismartin5340 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SomewhereInWisconsin
      By false result, I mean an arrow coming off sideways that hits the string. Is that possible?
      I did some French tuning tonight. Tweaked both my rest & my sight. Shot quite a few arrows. Went through the string multiple times. Then went back to 40yds and shot probably my best four arrow group from that distance!

      Hey Chris, this is a Truball HT3, medium. It's a hinge/back tension release. I enjoy shooting it, and I also hunt with this release. I suffered from target panic about 7 years ago, so I switched to a hinge and never looked back! It took a full year to really learn the hinge, but my shooting and scores increased in the first 6 months.
