Looking forward to it. I'm an old guy who's been interested in cars all my life. I honestly can't remember those cars. It's an interesting piece for sure. The price was definitely right. I hope you put it back on the road and take us along with you getting it there.
This brings back a lot of memories, owned a bright blue '78 Dodge Challenger w\5speed & a\c. Wasn't a bad car but it was the first one I ever saw that rusted from the top down.
Glad it brought back memories Lance. Rust was my biggest worry with this one being in Ohio, but it's surprisingly not too bad. Even the vinyl top looks OK. thanks for commenting.
@@WoodyFixit My car was from Ohio, how it ended up in SC I don't know. Those rims are the ones that came with the Challenger, the Sapparo had different rims.
That funmate car came on bottles of laundry detergent as a promo. I have a bunch of them. All Fords and Formula cars. Came with launcher pad too. Nice vid!
I found your channel by fluke when you did the Lima auction the other day. I used to go to that yard many years ago. Wish I had known about the auction I would have went for sure. My shop is in Sidney not far from it
@@metalartcustomsLLCYes mainly auctions right now. I have auto body background but limited time. I checked out your channel. Going to watch more this evening.
I owned a Plymouth Sapparo. Fun to drive, the 3 valve cylinder head set up Balanced Shaft. Ran so smooth at idle, folks in the passenger seat often asked me if the car was still running. The tech in this motor was so good, merecedes licensed it.
Sounds nice from a drivers standpoint and absolutely terrifying from a shade tree mechanic standpoint. 😅 I feel like a catfish that swallowed the hook! 😝
that Merc was a really good deal, the sapporo (galant-charger triplet) is worth saving they were good little cars in their day. there were balance shaft issues though. I am glad were able to get the charger wheels for it, which will make it look much better than the hub caps!
That was a good buy on the Plymouth. 42:51 Those rims you bought I think actually they go on a Dodge Challenger that was around the same year. Dodge made a Challenger with a Mitsubishi motor in it similar to that car. I had one on my channel years ago that someone has stuffed a Ford 302 and a C6 transmission in it. Check it out.
Good eye! Yes I got the wheels since I got the car. I'll definitely check it out. Sounds rad! If you mention second gen Challenger many people can't picture what it is. As for mine, I need to check viability of the engine then go from there, but a Honda fit has the same wheelbase....
12:56 passenger side rearview mirror is useless not only is the a pillar blocking the view it's also lower than the beltline, meaning unusable & it's simply there for show and I don't think it's actually factory in those blindside sideswipe day's.
@@WoodyFixit You should be able to free that up Pretty easily, That is a Nice car to Restore, I haven't seen one in a Long Time, back in the 80's Re mines,me of my Daytona Turbo, Just like in the Movie the wraith ,I bought Brand new.
@WoodyFixit i bought a camaro yrs ago that was sitting back in the weeds. put it on the trailer and headed home. look back and saw some dirt and dust flying off it. pulled over a few miles up the road to check the straps and give it the "its not going anywhere nod" I reach down a grab the first strap and all I see is dozens of field mice jumping out from under the car running every direction on the trailer 😆 My wife wasn't impressed with the scene to say the least. I took it home tossed a dozen traps in it and left it in the yard for a week or so before I put it in my shop 🤣
There was a avid toy buyer there. I did pick up a few pieces including the blue Jeep its available on my store. Thanks for the tip on the funmates.. I'll keep an eye out.
Do you plan to resurrect your new Mitsu-Mopar? It honestly doesn't look that bad. None of the cars seemed overpriced, some decent deals to be had there.
8:40 stray wingnut & loose screws & you have to be said nut to want to want one of these & the lower milage proves how much of a nightmare these huge gas hog lemons are nothing but headaches all around & Both this & the so-called luxury benz don't have the Mitsubishi door courtesy light and they call the two former cars luxury cars ? The retrieval video of this peculiar Plymouth is coming soon!

I was a beautiful car!

Thanks for watching! It looked like it was a busy place back out the day.
@ it was , used to be a great place for the old ones. Do you mainly do auctions or? I restore and build custom classics on my channel

the four wheels at the end were for the scirocco,if that car wasnt rusty I would be interested I had the plymouth charger version
You're right William. The previous owner had bought them for the car. I got the wheels too.

Hi David. I believe I saw a builders plate on the firewall of the Plymouth from Mitsubishi. AL B.
Yes you did AL. I didn't get close enough in the video to make it out.

I wish I would have none about this action I would be coming home with the Little Plymouth. You never see them ever.
I just hated the thought of it surviving this long only to go to scrap. Hopefully I can free up the engine and pass it to someone that will fix it up.

please post more on the sapporo
It's coming! I've made some progress
nice score! what's the plan?
Thanks Dustin! See if she can ever run again and go from there. Hopefully not too much of a rot box.
@WoodyFixit rust adds character, no way it's worse than my van 🤣 it'll run I have faith. you going to post any videos on it?
Rust holes let the rodents out. 😄 I hope to soon!

@smokineaglesrodshop 😆 That's a great story! You had to kick the tenants out!
FunMate's are collectible...wish you had consulted with me, I could tell you what to buy. Like the blue tonka jeep truck and that Blue Dodge flat bed

Fantastic jag, but the plymouth, thats a car
MRGOODPLIERS n Joe just seen one of those Plymouths in a junkyard they showed yesterday on theyre TH-cam video ok
That's awesome. Can't be many left! I need a taillight lens. Lol😉
The '41 Merc would be yes, the others not worth bidding on.

That Plymouth has a lot of junk to move about with just that tiny engine😅
It's true! Does it help that it's a hemi?
Congratulations you just bought a P.O.S. !
✅️ Thanks! It's not the first Kev.
You might get to look at 6 cars slow is you

This Auctioneer is terrible that car the first one should have been sold long before it was he should have said last call long before he did
