      @@deliriumsdawn Im having some issues with connecting this thing. Could you give me some tips for signal chain you have set up?

    • @deliriumsdawn
      @deliriumsdawn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, normally you’ll have to connect one of the XLR outputs on the back to your audio interface if you wanna record. If you wanna play through an amp you have to create a sound patch without a cab and connect that signal to your amp.
      I normally use both: a sound with cab simulator going through one of the XLRs to the interface or PA. And I also crest second signal chain by bypassing the cab with a FX loop right after the amp. Then you can use one of the normal jacks to connect to your amp.
      Sounds complicated but it isn’t. I’m sure you’ll find a video on that.

    Been a shredder since the 80's but been outta the loop during 10's due to substance abuse. Now sober, and reloading my arsenal, I found an Ultra for $350. Thank you for the honest demo...It's mine on Monday, lol! If you are able to reply, can you fill me in on what it will take to get it current? I read in the comments about an edit and phase patch from FAS. FYI...it's used, and looks it, and in a pawn shop. I have 24 hours from purchase to return if something is wrong. Can you give me pointers on the first/main things to check out since 24 hrs is probably only a spec in time to explore the Axe Fx, lol! Preciate it and peace to you and yours!

    • @deliriumsdawn
      @deliriumsdawn  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi, that’s an amazing price for an Ultra. Check out if the jacks, the display and the control switches work. Other than that I don’t know. You‘ll have to see if the unit has been reset. If so, you’ll have to load up the latest patch which you’ll have to download from the FAS homepage. To load the patch to your unit you’ll need a MIDI connection to your computer. Also you’ll need a software that will transfer the patch to the Axefx. On newer versions that would be Axe Edit by FAS. This is a nice tool if you wanna dial in sounds on your computer with better visualization and it will work with old models. The patch loading though won’t work on the standard and ultra which is why you have to download another software for that. I can’t remember the name since I only had to do once many years ago. If you Google it or look on TH-cam I’m sure you’ll find tutorials for that.

    Hi maybe you can help me. I have been doing a deep dive into phase within modern metal mixes. When I play your track in the video I notice that the guitar tone changes completely when I switch between mono and stereo repeatedly I start to prefer the mono'd version because all this strange upper frequencies disappear. After a few comparisons the stereo version starts to sound very nasally and it seems definition is lost on the riffs. At what point of the mix process does this start to happen? Its seems very common on all modern metal mixes.

    • @deliriumsdawn
      @deliriumsdawn  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That‘s a very interesting question! Honestly, I never listen to the mix in mono, so therefore have never experienced what you described. Apparently some frequencies get erased due to phase interference which makes it sound better to your ears. At what point it happens? My guess is a the beginning with the guitar sound itself.
