Id be willing to to 99% of people wouldnt really be able to to the difference between the Ultra and the 3 in a mix. Ive owned an Axe Fx 2 XL+, an AX8 and an Ultra. The newer the model the more flexibility you get, along with way more options, but in regards to the actual sound coming out of the units, they are all first rate. Even the older models
Please let me understand, you use spdif because there are less conversions AD DA on the route than in case of using analog output (axe's analog output -> presonus's input) ??
Callum - Great info, I run a Mac with Big Sur 64bit, i'm running a Midi to USB out with converter but cannot use the Axe Edit as it's only 32 bit, I have a Windows 10 PC also with no luck, do i need a sound interface with Midi to run on Windows 10, can't believe Fractal stopped supporting the Standard. Regards
Hey man, axe edit will work on Windows 10 no problem. The issue is usually the wrong midi to USB cable. One of mine works, the other doesn't. Also ensure your axe firmware is up to date.

Scarlett 2i2 is best bang for buck
2i2 have no SPDIF. I Bought 6i6 for this reason.
