Sasha Calle’s Supergirl is the standout and my favorite character in The Flash and she was the reason I saw it in theaters. I hope Sasha Calle’s Supergirl returns in a DCU crossover like a crisis on infinite earths film
Fuck that I won’t watch a different super girl. She was great, and 🔥 and perfect but they could have done more with her role. That’s a writer issue not a Sasha issue. So FK DC honestly
Sadly, Sasha is a casualty of previous WB mismanagement, I agree that Gunns plans for the character don’t envision Sasha’s interpretation; also add that Gunn has been casting so far comic accurate actors to play these characters; so I wouldn’t be surprised if that was one of the reasons why Sasha isn’t coming back.
The flash was a good movie. The main vocal points were Michael, Keaton, and Sasha performances Supergirl.! She poured her heart and soul out into the role and did an amazing job and it’s a shame they’re not gonna continue her! Stupid directors, and writers they don’t do what the fans want they just do what they want! She absolutely killed the role. In my opinion she truly is Supergirl!

It’s the right move, I was a big fan of Sasha Calle’s Supergirl but this is gonna be a rebooted universe and so it makes sense for them to start over with a clean slate, plus knowing the kind of tone that James Gunn is gonna go for with his Superman & Supergirl I don’t think Sasha’s would fit that universe, his Superman & Supergirl are more than likely gonna be very colorful and upbeat, whereas Sasha’s Supergirl was more dark and edgy, and so like I said she wouldn’t really fit James Gunn’s DCU, and so I think it’s ultimately the right thing for them to do
“I don’t understand why Flash is a divisive movie. I mean, Ezra Miller should never work in movies again…” So actually you DO understand why the Flash was a divisive movie.
This actually hurts me more than losing Henry. Her Supergirl was as tough as she was beautiful. She played the role with an understated gravitas that subtly conveyed the emotional complexity of a character who'd experienced significant trauma. Would've loved to see her bring that to Gunn's Supergirl, which sounds pretty dark from his description of it.
It's a shame that Sasha Calle couldn't manage to stay as Supergirl in the new universe. Since personally I loved her version of Supergirl. But also, we have to admit that it wasn't her fault, since she tried to give a good performance with what she was given. Mainly it is somehow reasonable why she wouldn't come back, her Supergirl version was way much connected to Henry Cavill's Superman and to the plot of Man of Steel, which was part of the Flash movie plot as well. Also another fact, is that Sasha make her appearance and entrance on the DCEU when everything was just a complete disaster and was coming to an end. Even so, there may be a possibility that she continues being Supergirl but in a separate project, in this case an elseworld solo movie, where her story can be continued or so to be restarted under a different visual narrative, something in the style as we saw with Robert Pattison's Batman.
At this point, Sasha should just transition over to Marvel and get a role over there. Say what you will about Marvel, but at least they treat their actors and actresses with better respect and care than the boneheads at DC.
Sasha Calle wlll always be my Supergirl. It just might be a blessing she is not come back since the whole DCEU thing is crumbling to the ground anyways.
there is probably a necessity to recast Supergirl for the DCU, tho with the Supergirl character there is a pretty reasonable compromise for people who want to see Calle back as Supergirl, cast Calle as Powergirl in the DCU. In most DC continuities, Powergirl is basically a more mature Kara from an Alternate Earth, so if they want to adapt Powergirl to the Live Action DCU it would be fitting to cast someone who previously played Supergirl. Helen Slater would be too mature (And WBD Probably are Not going to Digitally De-Age her due to the Backlash about the Flash's CGI), so that just leaves either Sasha Calle or Melissa Benoist for Powergirl.
