Milly would probably make the most commercial sense and would be a big draw in the leading role (women of tomorrow). Although that could strengthen her negotiating position. Meg seems the most popular so far with the fandom and already has an established working relationship with DC. Emilia could smash the screen tests and knick it from the rear.
Its a tough choice for James Gunn.
Also, Meg was in the show the gifted. And American housewife. Also, with her being in the Winchesters and in zombies, which was a Disney production. From what I’ve seen her in she has a lot of range. Which I think is important when you’re playing someone like Kara
According to Imdb she wasn't in The Gifted. Do you know what character she played?

Meg Donnelly looks the most like she could be Corenswet's cousin, and she's already voiced the role (and we know Gunn likes to keep animation and live action consistent, even though the animation in this case is a different continuity.
I'm hoping its Meg I do recognize her performance in Zombies (somehow) and she litterally almost looks comic accurate and something I never thought about that Kris brings up a good point and that Meg has done voice work before, coincidentally supergirl but even if she never played supergirl, its a big factor if James gunn begins to make animated content and video games for the DCU the more people with voiceover experience the better.
Meg is my pick.

Meg Donnelly as she already has a history with the character.
Voice actors don't always make the best screen actors.
@@MrTwessel30She is also a legit actress. She portrayed young Mary Winchester in The Winchesters. She has done couple of other live action television and film work. I have nothing against the other 2 actresses. They are also talented and if one of them gets it great, but right now I feel Meg has a slight advantage with voicing the character twice and she can also translate the character to live action.
Matt Ryan is a legit actor and has played Constantine both in live action and animation.
Of course Winchesters show was short lived which sucked but Meg Donnelly held her own. She is a total badass.

I super can't can't not wait to see Supergirl Kara Zor-EL in the DCU Supergirl is my favorite DC Comics Female character because like Superman her cousin she represents Hope but a different kind of hope. Help Hope and Compassion For All ! I loved all the different live action Supergirl's Helen Slater , Laura Vandervoort , Melissa Benoist and Sasha Calle with Melissa Benoist from The CW DCTV Arrowverse being the best. Sure CW's Supergirl had it's issues and flaws but for me enjoyed the series and Melissa was such a bad ass in the series so wholesome and like Christopher Reeve's Superman Mel embodied Supergirl Kara for a new generation. As far as the DCU Supergirl for Supergirl: Woman of Tommrow and the top casting choices Meg Donnelly I hope she gets the role of Supergirl Kara Zor-EL she also voiced Supergirl in the DC Animated Tomorrowverse films her she looks so much like a Sliver Age / early bronze age Kara. Take Care John and friends and keep up the super great work love your videos and content guys !!!

you know, watched a couple Anna Kendrick movies rn and got me thinkin, she could be a really great supergirl.
She has a light nobleness to her yet also dramatic weight that I think is perfect for supergirl, and she can pepper in the humor too. shes got the look, just dye her hair blonde and we're off.
My desired actress for Supergirl can be put into three simple words: "I want Rhaenyra." ~ Daemon Targaryen

Honestly all three ladies would be good choices. However I can't help but think there's someone out there who looks even more like Supergirl.
Looks are not everything chief. Besides, makeup can go a long way to make any of these actresses look more like the character.
It Seems like in the last few years, there's a trend for casting against type, So the actress will not resemble the original appearance of their character, so don't be surprised if supergirl doesn't appear like that in 1985 blone version

Superman and supergirl are cousin.. milly alcock's face is too far from david Corenswet... Meg Donnelly is closer. I'm sure Meg Donnelly will be cast.
Milly Alcock and David Corenswet could _easily_ be cousins, but they don't caste the actors based only on their looks anyway, so the point is moot.
Just so you know, George Clooney & Miguel Ferrer are first cousins - same as Superman and Supergirl - so that will give you an idea of how dissimilar cousins can appear. A person with pale skin and straight red hair can have a cousin who is black and has an afro, because cousins only share as little as 4% of their DNA (though it _can_ be as high as 23%, with the average being 12.5%).
Sibling can share as little as 38% of their DNA, so Milly Alcock and David Corenswet could play brother and sister and there'd be nothing wrong with it.
I'll tell you what's interesting though, speaking of siblings, sometimes you'll see two people portraying siblings, and their parents will both have a recessive trait - like attached earlobes (this is a common one, because few people know it's a recessive trait), or blonde hair - but one or more of the siblings wont' share it, making it certain that they aren't full siblings, meaning that the mother must have had an affair!

I like Meg Donnelly and i would be fine if she gets casted but, i don't think it should matter wether or not the actress looks anything like David Corensweat given that cousins usually look nothing alike

Honestly this is James Gunn’s call of which actress will take the role, and for him is not gonna be just appearance or good acting, it’s gonna pick who he thinks is best suited for the role in all of the right spots.

all three of these actresses are in their early 20s ... donnelly/alcock are 23 years old & jones is 21 years old so they fit the age range of this iteration of supergirl
obviously having a younger actress who is similar in age to this supergirl from the source material is a key sticking point for james gunn
