Hey Champ , thank you so much for your honest content and the facts about the fragrances I was tired of seeing over dramatic content creators about perfumes .. panty droppers & gurantee compliments & bla bla bla Thank god we have people like you who are there who speak their heart out and do fragrance reviews for their passion On this note I would really appreciate id you can help me with your take on Marc antoine barrois B683 and Chanel Coromandel I have smelt mab 683 and I seem to have loved it to the core .. I havnt tried coromandel for some reason but I need to make a decision to buy quickly and coromandel it seems could be a blind buy Now they say they both these scents have that beautiful scent trail due to patchouli .. is that true buddy ? That dry down of b683 is so damm gorgeous .. I have no idea about coromandel .. what would you suggest out of the two ? Please help
Pierre Bourdon, the ghost perfumer for creed is the perfumer for individuel and original santal, same as git and cool water hence the similarities of those fragrance.
I just bought a full bottle of the OS and a sample of Mont Blanc. To me there are no similarities , zero. Mont Blanc smells more sweet with no spices as with OS i get very little sweetness with some fresh spicy notes and woods at the base. They are two totally different fragrances to me no comparison. Love the vids btw . Keep up the good work!
I have people who think Cool Water and Green Irish Tweed smell very different, while I think they smell similar. Scent is heavily memory associated, so that might be why different people have different responses.
My wife turned me onto this fragrance when I first got into the hobby. I liked it immediately, but held off on buying a full bottle for all the reasons you just spelled out… Not challenging enough, a little too youthful, and perhaps too mainstream for my adventurous heart. Yet I kept coming back to it on certain occasions, and knowing how much my wife likes it I did end up purchasing a bottle at a good price. It’s definitely one that garners complements when I wear it, and it makes her happy so for me that’s a big win.
I gather Individuel came out before Original Santal, and Mont Blanc figured it was a copycat job...!!! Then Mont Blanc retaliated by copying Aventus with Explorer...?! Anyway, that's what I remember...
It's also a big battle with perfumer Peirre Bourdon (one of the greatest of all time IMO). Pierre made Individuel and Creed copied it. If you look deep enough Pierre made Green Irish Tweed and Cool Water which are pretty similar. I've also heard Pierre made a lot of Creeds including Millesime Imperial. Thing is Olivier Creed takes credit for all his work. From my understanding, Pierre Bourdon has been the real Creed rockstar but never got credit for any of it. He's the "Ghost Perfumer" so to speak. That's why I don't list the perfumer for Creed reviews because I don't believe it was Olivier Creed based on what I've heard so it's too confusing.
@CgScents It all makes sense now because the way Montblanc Explorer is made, you can clearly understand the inspiration to overshadow Creed's Aventus. It was done in such a way that people would never want to buy the original scent DNA. Also there is the mystery of, why Aventus is original formulation never was truly replicated by Creed. How can every batch be different from the first release and never we got a word from them. It is posible the master perfumer behind the fragance is no longer working with them. Almost every perfume retains the same scent from it's original release. Except when it is stated that reformulations had been made. So why Aventus will smell different in every batch. Did somebody hide a secret combination from the brand that was made for the first batch ? With how much greed the Creed family has, we can guess it almost true that Peirre Bourdon was the master mind without giving recognition to him at least. Perhaps Peirre was going to make Individuel for Creed but he probably thought that they don't deserve that scent DNA and maybe Oliver had seen an sketch and that is why they made santal so similar to Montblanc's.
I miss your videos about drugs. It helped a lot of people and was very informative. I mean this channel is cute but your other channel really helped a lot of people.
I miss it too but it was time for me to move on and am glad I did. It’s not my obligation to help others if it’s hurting me. Glad I acquired enough self love to wake up to that. I’m having fun on this platform and am proud of myself regardless what other people think about it.
@ i’m proud of you too honestly making those videos could cause you to relapse and replaying the pleasure and pains of those drugs that you did, but I am happy that you have a wife and that you’re doing something on TH-cam that you love. I just went looking for your channel today and saw people were saying it either got demonetized or shadow banned. But you do have a point that life is behind you and the people that used to watch that old channel have nothing but support for you and happiness.
Thank you. I actually deleted it last April there’s a Reddit thread “what happened to Cg Kid” that goes more in depth but in short it was keeping a chapter of my life open that I needed to close. It’s not just discussions of my past but I relapsed and fell into depression with it up there. There was also logistics of having personal intimate details accessible to anyone in your personal life online. As I began to change I valued privacy more. It wasn’t easy but it was necessary for me to really move forward. I’ve been sober several years and have learned that constantly being in recovery or reminding myself how bad it was, as is commonly done in AA, works against me. It creates a weird cycle of identification and this self fulfilling prophecy that when life gets hard I return to substances. It’s been better to just move on and fortunately that’s possible. I appreciate your kind words. My wife and I will be having a daughter this February so it really is the next chapter for us. I plan to finish up this channel and let it sit as a legacy piece I created then focus on being a father and finishing school. I’m sure my life’s going to change dramatically over the next few years and I’m looking forward to it. I actually plan to tell the Cg Kid story on this channel at some point just to document what happened and the changes that have occurred. I don’t feel any obligation to do that but I want to I think it’s an interesting experience to share. It was more the detailing of specifics in regard to substance abuse and adverse experiences on my old channel that held me back. I plan to tell the overall story of what happened.
@@CgScents and you’re older and new followers will be here to support you. You know when you made it on Reddit, you made a big impact Man, you were really influential in a good way I can see how talking about personal experiences with substances can make a person relapse, even getting on Reddit and reading peoples experiences. If you’ve personally had it with the same substance can make you think of fond memories you’ve had with it and make you relapse. Congratulations on the new addition to your family and to your new journey. Life can be really rough and mean out here so the fact that you’ve been sober for so long it’s an achievement and something to be proud of.
I disagree that niche scents can't be easy to like, but I do agree that scent preferences are highly personal. Scent is heavily memory based. When I was a child helping pull weeds in the garden, I remembered the pungent green smell of broken crabgrass very distinctly. This has made every scent that leans too green trigger a "grossed out" response from me to the overly herbacious nature of the scent. Meanwhile, my friends are saying how it smells like a beautiful field of grass and whatnot, haha.
Scent of the year alert. Non related to this. Please get your hands on Hugo Boss Intense Bottled Absolu. Im stomped ! Caught off guard. Impressed to hell. A cross between Xerjoff Tommy Iommi & PDM Carlisle. That thing is amazing. Easily my fav release of 24. by a mile..designer or niche side. Every now and then someone comes up with a grand slam. This year is Boss Bottled Absolu., at least for me. I literally bought 2 bottles.saturday & sunday . Its not too expensive either
I will I like it but it’s very similar to spice bomb and I think I would go for spice bomb. I need to revisit rehab but they’re definitely not worlds apart.
@@CgScents I don’t get a strong connection to Spicebomb from Rehab. I’d be interested to hear your feedback if you did revisit it. I’m not a big Initio fan, but I generally like their whites more than their other offerings.

That’s a lot like me with Gentle Fluidity Silver. I don’t really get it but my wife loves it and I like it.

That's fair. I've been wearing MB individual all week and have worn Santal. For me I think they're both incredible copying Joop the king
I love this. Can be worn for time to time
Pronounced San-Tul not San-Tal
❤️🖤❤️❤️🖤🖤
now percival or carlisle !
It isn’t for me and neither is the MontBlanc. One of my least favorite creeds. Just pretty boring.
Overpriced Joop
i didn’t care for this fragrance, reminds me of what a grandma would smell like in church. i gave it to my mom
