I don't think you've done this before Robert, but it would be intresting if you react to people doing more alternative makeup styles like Goth, Larme, Igari, or Decora or react to different makeup trends in other countries (like K-beauty makeup trends or J-Beauty makeup trends). It would be nice to see a pro MUA's impression and what techniques you think could benefit the looks

I think Megan’s tutorial is a great example of understanding your features and skin type and using techniques that you found work for you and not things that are trendy because she looks stunning at the end.
I don’t think I’ve even seen her without a cut crease. Megan Thee Cut Crease Stallion. I agree with her, very few concealers don’t settle terribly into my lines under my eye

Robert is right, for someone who is a bit skeptical of her work Megan really knows what she’s doing. Totally stealing the ‘As long as you can blend, Makeup is your friend.’ Words from a truly talented woman- musically and well as makeup wise!
Also, did any other earphone users also feel that the Robert’s audio fluctuates? It goes a bit high and then goes a bit low?
It is fluctuating this week! For some reason there’s an annoying noise in the background so I had to fix it as well as I could 😩

Jay Atmosphere not like that, like the Jackie Aina technique when she evens out the two half’s of her face. Apparently many black people use that technique due to their bottom half of their face being a bit darker, but I may be remembering incorrectly! It’s like color correcting I guess
Jacob Oh ok. I get it! I do the same with my foundations. I’m brown skinned. I have a red/peach tone foundation to correct sometimes as well. As another viewer noted, I’ve seen Megan’s skin with no makeup up and it’s insanely even.
Don’t apologize for saying the same tips in your videos, especially if it pertains to the topic at hand. The more you say something, the more people will remember it. Ever since I’ve been binging your channel, there are things that have stuck with me since you say them multiple times. And for someone with a dumb rat brain, it’s super helpful 💜

Just a quick reaction to your point about repeating yourself in different videos: a good teacher knows that some level of repetition is vital to learning, especially as you explain it using different examples/demonstrations. So please never hesitate to point out similar themes/messages/advice; it's very helpful and deeply appreciated 🤗
I hate repetition but it certainly works when learning because you are constantly being reminded and refreshed

I was born 1984 and stopped caring who sings what around 2010.... I so felt it when you said that you stop caring after a certain age. Like I have kids and bills to care about and my own face to care about. Your one of the few ppl I care about outside my little world.
I totally agree with you when you said that each person can have their own way of applying make up, and online in general can give people bad makeup habits. Before I used to apply a ton of concealer on my under eyes. The triangle! But after watching your video, I learned that it's not necessary to apply a lot of concealer.

She really truly is SO talented. Like her musical style may or may not be someone's personal preference, but I dont think anyone who watched her Tiny Desk (or a lot of her other stuff) can deny her talent and hard work. She seems super cool too, and really down to earth.
Even her doing her makeup herself here. Super talented and down to earth. She seems like she would be so much fun to be friends with. People can say what they want about WAP, you dont have to like the song but shes a bad ass and shes not scared of anything or anyone. I love her, shes awesome.

YESS!! omg I love her! I think it's incredible how she went to school for art then taught herself how to do makeup. I mean, it IS an art, but even she explains how makeup is a different world haha. I wish I had that talent, wow. Also, since she has an olive undertone despite having fair skin, she understands the difficulties in finding products (mostly foundations) that work with non-yellow undertones haha. I agree that she is very underrated and so informative for being self-taught especially!!

And I think it sounds rude (just my opinion). Only because most of the people know that person doesn't mean everyone has to. So be yourself and don't try too hard to keep up with whatever or whoever the majority likes)))

*I adore Megan Thee Stallion!* She may appear like a stereotypical "rap star" but don't judge book by it's cover. (Megan is very grounded - particularly for a young rap artist with a career rising at the speed of light!) She's genuinely a lovely person, who constantly encourages/pushes messages to love yourself / body positive vibes. Despite the fame, she is dedicated to completing her college degree in Healthcare Operations Manager with the goal of opening a Senior care facility in her hometown.

😆 don't worry, I don't use shadow under my eyes either. Mine are too round and deepset and they look tiny no matter which color or how little I apply.

I always wondered how people made their 'eyeliner' look like 'that' only to realize years later it was eye shadow lol sometimes I think I'm a lost cause 😋

Hey Robert! Just some constructive criticism for this one: the way your video is cut out means we can't always see the way you were holding your brush if that makes sense? So maybe in future videos hold it right in front of your face or expand your bit of the video when you are explaining something? I know what you mean but as you said for newbies it might not be as clear!! Love your vids ❤️❤️

I do that too. Even though I've been doing eyeshadow since I was a little girl, I still just have a naturally heavy hand I have to kind of work against.
It definitely takes practice to get out of the habit once you notice it! But you will get it 😁

Hearing you say that you take more time on the eyes makes me feel so much better about how i was doing on my clients!! Pre-COVID, I was a freelance MUA and people always complained about how long makeup took and it always made me feel that I wasn't a good mua (although the makeup always turned out AMAZING) it still made me feel like i wasn't good! Is it just me, or does anyone else thinks it's a shame when they have a perfectly blended eye look to slap on so much concealer or eyeshadow base to cover it all up for a cut crease?
Yes. I always think "you put so much work into the blending of that area and you just covered it in concealer 😰" It always looks nice and I get that art is never finished and blah blah. But yes, it makes me a little sad 😂😂
It’s a waste. All that time & product then cover it. I don’t understand why.
Yess 😭 I was mesmerized by that brown shadow blend at the beginning and the concealer just covered it up.
Same! I always think the lid looks so much prettier with the nice gradient from the lash line to the blown out edges with a little depth near the outer V... I've never been a fan of the cut crease, but that's just me😉
Yes!! I totally agree- I much prefer a halo eye where you just don’t put much pigment there. But it’s cool how in a makeup videos we get to enjoy every step instead of real life where people only see the finished look (if that makes sense :)

I actually like that you repeat things you’ve said in past videos! It helps me memorize them, and I won’t have to go all the way back to that video where you’ve said it. Usually when a person doesn’t repeat a tip because they said it in a past video, I forget what video it was or lose it and end up forgetting the whole thing. THANK YOU FOR REPEATING🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
