This is very similar to a Thomas Lang video on linear coordination. Not a bad thing, just an observation. Check that out to if you are interested in basically a little more advanced version of this! Great for blast training and linear independence!
James Walker I know he uses his custom Vic Firth sticks. I couldn't tell you much about his pedal setups other than that I believe he has used both DW 5000 and 9000's over the years.
Can someone enlightened me on the stacker that is right in the middle of Matt's setup? I don't remember him using a stacker in the last album and tour.
Avedis Zildjian Company Oh...hahah! Silly me. Thank you! Though I find it odd that he is using an 18" in his setup. Not sure if it's just this once or for the tour as well.
Matt needs to release a DVD already!
I met him at warped at west palm beach, Florida and he taught me this and let me get on his kit and practice a bit, hes a very good teacher!
Great teacher and player!
I'd love to see more videos like this from you.
You're an inspiration for a lot of drummers, including me, thank you!
Beast mode
Beast!
That kick is so damn phat
i remember when Thomas Lang put this exercise on his DVD creative control. he used hi hat cymbals alternating with just like Matt does here
