Hi, thank you both for uploading such an informative video. We have watched all your EBC videos to obtain as much information as possible as we are doing the trek in November! Yes I guess it’s going to be freezing. We’ve finally got all our cold weather clothes together, snack bars etc, it’s surprising how much you need, thankfully we’ve kept the weight limit to 10kg. Without people like yourself producing these videos, we could have taken unnecessary items. Thanks again, and we look forward to watching more of your videos.
Awww, Claire that honestly means so much as we have put alot of effort in so that this video comes across as informative and helpful 😊 You guys will just love it. We wish you the best of luck for November and we are super excited for you! It sounds like you're both very organised and organisation really does go a long way 👌🏻 You guys are so sweet for leaving us such positive feedback. We really appreciate it 😁🙏
Thank you guys - your videos are the BEST! Full of great information and hints and tips. I head off to EBC in May (2024) for my 60th birthday with G Adventures. Can't wait. 😊
Awww, thanks so much Lindy. So sweet of you to comment and its made is smile 😊 ... So very glad our video has been useful for you. Wow! That is absolutley amazing! You should be very proud of yourself for taking on the challenge. We're sure you will absolutely smash it. Take lots of photos and enjoy the stunning scenery aswell as enjoying the time with the people you meet along the way. Best of luck 😁 x
@@kapilachandrabharathi7134 Hi there. This is amazing. We hope that you have an amazing trip. Yes I totally get it. We were the same and didn't take any altitude tablets with us for the same reason. However most of our group had started taking Diamox in Kathmandu so this was regularly bought up in conversation. Not long after arriving in Namche Bazaar we had slight effects from Altitude. After a little discussion we decided to purchase some from the pharmacy there. There is a proper pharmacy in Namche so you can pick up quite a bit of medication that you may have forgotten you needed 👍🏻 Personally we feel that it helped us, 2 people in our group made it without Diamox too if this helps 😁
Great video with some great tips. Hopefully it'll me me next year. Vapour rub on my list. Don't know what's worrying me the most, the bogs or the altitude.😁
Thank you so much 😁 Glad you found this helpful! Haha! You will be fine. Expect the worst and it won't feel as difficult 👍🏻 ... In regards to altitude. Drink plenty of water and take it slow. Don't push yourself past your limits. If you need to slow down and take a break, listen to your body. You will be fine.
Really enjoyed this Vlog of your trip and reviews of the Tea Houses. I go October 1-14. So stoked. Did you go with an Outfitter? If so, who did you use if you don't mind sharing. How was your Hotel Experience when you got back to Khathmandu?? 30 minute HOT Shower??
Aww, thanks so much Fred! So nice of you to comment 😊 Wow! Not long at all then. Super exciting! We went with Gadventures who were fantastic. The hotel at Kathmandu was absolutely amazing! The best shower of our lives 😂 ... The hotel we stayed in was called "Hotel Traditional Comfort" 👌🏻 ... The shower was about an hour lol 🤣 Is that Kilimanjaro in your profile picture? We are doing that next year and would love it if you are able to share any top tips with us about your experience... If you don't mind of course? 😁
Great video guys, very informative, and for people who are about to do this, a worthwhile watch indeed. I wish I had done something like this in my younger days. 800 rupees for a shower? I would say that's money well spent. 😂 Ooo a pink room, 🤣🤣 I've got something similar at home, but mines a red room 🤣🤣 Great watch guys. Until the next time 😊
Cheers Dave 😁 you are still young 💪🏻 Yes at that point I was well happy with my 800 rupees 🚿 Your room sounds interesting 🤔 Cheers for watching and we are looking forward to catching up on the latest Dave Outdoors episode 😀 👍🏻
Hey guys! This is such an informative video. What was your trekking dates ? My wife and I are doing the trek on 29th of March. Was wondering if we will encounter snowfall.
Hi guys, that's awesome! We started our trek on 25th March so practically the same time as you guys. Yes you will more than likely have snow, we had snow at Namche on day 3 ❄
Nath ! It’s Nathan Silius , remember me ? . I was just scrolling through van life videos as I’m doing a transit up at the moment with my girlfriend, and came across your videos , and thought I recognise those people ! 😂
Silius of course I remember you 😁. Haha the power of TH-cam ay. Sounds great, transits are good. Alot more space than our caddy. Hopfully youl both make it your own soon enough and get out and about. Good to hear from you. Where abouts are you living these days?
Thanks a lot for the video. Were your accom 0:58 modation budget restricted or lack of choices. And did you guys need pills to breathe. Btw we did trek to namche in march 10th to 13th 2023 and didn't see any snow at all except for some patches in Kala pattar
Hi there, isn't Namche just awsome. Nope there's plenty of choice for places to stay along the trek apart from Gorak Shep. Some places look nicer than others. All of our accommodation was pre arranged for us by our tour operator. I guess different companies use different contacts. We started the trek with no medication at all. Most of our group had started taking diamox in Kathmandu and when we got up to namche we had slight altitude effects, head ache ect. At this point we decided to get some diamox from the pharmacy there and we took 1 tablet a day untill we started to make our way down.
Hello guys thank you so much for these prices and tips. Can I ask you to price of the stay per night? and is It possible to stay free if you eat your meals in the same tea house?
No problem at all, glad that they have been useful 👍 We booked our trip through G adventures so all of our tea houses were already booked. Im not sure about staying for free but our guide said that the rooms are very cheap as they want you to buy your meals there.
@@cagdasyildirim I'm not sure. I think you will find something if you don't mind not staying exactly where you want to. Gorak shep was full when we went and people were even camping there. You don't necessarily have to stay at gorak shep to get to EBC its just the closest. Also you can look into staying at Thukla, is about 3km before Labouche 👍🏻
Hi there! Next year I'm doing base camp! I wanted to ask you have glasses I just wanted to know if I could still use contacts? Obviously with the solution it might get frozen? Thank you fee
Hiya Fee! Ahhh! How exciting 😁 ... Yes, I wore contact lenses most of the time and the solution was absolutely fine. I actually didn't think about that until now. Great question 👌🏻 You will have an absolute blast. Any other questions, please feel free to ask 😊
Thank you I'm sure I'll be fine! I had a stroke a year and a half and I know have aphasia. I've been watching you because it was so hard I can't read and I can't write so I watched your clothes what shall I wear etc. when I'm starting looking for clothes if a hard for me there's a lot of choice! If you have any suggestion the best ones with first clothes that would be great!! Some things it doesn't make sense for me so if it doesn't make sense I'm sorry 🤦🏼♀️
You're welcome and you will be fine. The guides and your group will be amazing and everyone is routing for one another to succeed 😊 In regards to clothes... You can buy all things from Go Outdoors or similar stores. A good down jacket and hiking boots are most important. I'd suggested you go to Go Outdoors, speak with a member of staff and explain to them the activity you are doing. They will then be able to work out what's best for you and your budget. This is what we did. The hiking will be aware of everything you need to suit this trip 😊
@@NathandHannah I had this same question! Good to know the solution doesn't freeze. Is there soap and water to wash your hands before putting contacts in/taking them out? Esp at the highest teahouses where everything is frozen?
@@dqbydtHi, great question. The answer is a firm no. The tea houses don't supply soap & you will struggle to get running water above 4000m. Pack plenty of baby / sani wipes & hand gell. These will be your beat friends for the 2 weeks 😮😁
You guys lost me with some of this video. You obviously haven’t roughed it much. I’m not sure what you were expecting. I’m glad you went for the higher end tea house and not all the rest of us.

It’s pretty incredible how they keep the teahouses going in such remote places
I know right. The tea houses are a really important part of the trek. Most of them always looked busy

IMO I want to do without external help😊. Cheers
