      It's a GOOOOOOD engine IF and only IFFFF you take care of it and don't hot-rod it too much. Do the maintenance... The heat this engine produces is a killer. So - just take care of it. Besides the BMW B58 engine (Which is the BEST) this N63TU3 is - in my opinion when it comes to performance and balances reliablility --the second best produced by BMW.

    I have nothing but good things to say about my 2018. I don't regret buying it over an m340i or 540 at all. People who think these cars are unreliable are very uneducated and need to go borrow one for a week. There's literally not much out there with the power for the money with the luxury and reliability. People need to stop saying BMW is a reliable and start holding the people who buy them accountable for not maintaining them properly and giving them a bad reputation. This is definitely a car won't be getting rid of anytime soon if anything I'll just be upgrading to the newer ones. These things are absolute monsters for very little money! Love the review brother!! 🙏🏼 I have the same trim just the other wheels. Colors are identical! Stay safe brother god bless!! 🙏🏼

      Hey bro do you still have one? I’m in college and can afford a 540 but I’m really interested In a higher milage m550, do yk how reliable these are and if I should avoid them after a certain amount of milage?

    • @carsoncolemanbm4

      @@nopal4025 I wouldn't get a higher milage one. You should wait for another yr till the drop again on price. You can pick up mid milage ones for in the mid to high 30's. If u really don't wanna deal w a lot of oil stuff tho and ur looking to do some things e the car like mods id honestly go w the 540. If ur in collage I wouldn't suggest the 550. It's reliable don't get me wrong but it also costs a dime or two to keep it reliable. Mines at 89000 miles and runs great but I also spend far more on oil changes and maintenance then you want to. I just bought an m4 w the s55 for 32000 and I absolutely love it. The b-58 cars are amazing so ur not selling it self short getting the 540 over the 550. if ur really set on the 550 tho you could probably find a clean low mileage f10 550 w the m sport package for the same price as a slightly used 540.

    I don’t know if that wastegate actuator is the same as the VANOS exhaust/intake actuators but, same problem in my ‘13 528i. You don't need to do a reveal. There's not a person on earth that hasn't seen black wheels on a car. They all look the same. Your stock wheels look great and match your trim and mirror caps. Plus they're gunmetal grey. Not a lot of gunmetal grey wheels out there. It looks sharp. I wouldn't change a thing. The color combo you have right now is perfect. Congrats on your mileage. I'm at 27k and hoping to get to 100k without any serious issues.

    I've been mostly lucky with my car. It's a 2018 that I got delivered to me in Germany in October of 2017. I had it modified by a German performance shop (Speed-Profis). I was able to hit 300 kph on the Autobahn, many times, without the car even trying hard. About 4,500 RPM in 8th gear. Something in the transmission ECU would not let the car go past 300 KPH (187 MPH) even though the shop had set it to 320 KPH. He couldn't figure it out because my car is US spec not European spec. Moved back to the US in November of 2020. I had a cooling line issue at about 60K which cost me about $1,500. I'm about to hit 92K on the odometer. I hope she last a few more years. Not excited about the i5 M60. 130 MPH top speed and a range of 240-256 miles. Not good for long road trips!

    My beautiful 2006 Cadillac STS V8 got wrecked by a drunk driver back in August. The Caddy was a summer car and have been looking for a replacement. I'd really like a manual sedan but of course they are few and far between (outside of Jetta's). In a "better" car I see there are some 5 series around with 6 speeds, a few C300's, but why is it that almost all the BMW and Mercedes sedans are either black, white or silver?? The coupes and ragtops are often red or blue, but not the sedans. I love the color on your 550.

    Hope BMW gets their shit together and makes cars w/ waste gate-actuators that don't fail. OR warranties it. BRO - pls call out what HP/TQ your getting w/ stage 1. I believe my 23" is higher HP than your 2020. So, what did you do to get Stage 1? What upgrades.... I'm gonna watch some of your other vids. I WILL NOT do a Catless down-pipe but I'd consider HF.

    • @jbcars

    • @erjbo
      @erjbo ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It’s a V8 high performance engine with a tune. How are you getting the same numbers my mother gets in her hybrid Lexus Mom SUV? Other than having the 530 hp model,I have the same car with the same mods and burn through fuel like a jet running full afterburners. I have to put 93 octane in mine, and I spend $600 to $800 per month on gas. Granted I drive more than the average person, but you’ve got 4 cylinder numbers. Damn. Realistically, if I drove the average 10-12k per year, it would be about $400 - $500 per month on gas. That’s a whole other car payment - on a nice car.

    • @Zerocool2255
      @Zerocool2255 ปีที่แล้ว

      I run mine on the fwy and easily get 28-30 mpg I don’t drive in eco pro but 28-30 in comfort. When I drive it like I stole it the average is 18.6 - 19.5 none fwy driving. But you can let it out on the fwy in sport plus and and still get 26mpg

      Used to do a 150 -180 km commute (two work sites) everyday, for 8 years. Having had a few different work vehicles in that time, getting a vehicle that makes the trip easy and interesting makes it bearable. M550 would tick those boxes.

      If you look at the year by year changes bmw made to the twin turbo v8 I would say 2018 worked out all the major issues you would see from the f10 or earlier g30. It’s available online and can be super helpful when thinking about the best year to buy.
