Worked like a charm. Before i couldn't play without crashes for straight 30 minutes but now i played like 3 4 hours without any crashes. Performance of the game also increased drastically, it is hell a lot smoother and fun to play now
I've been playing the Warsword mod on and off for years. Loading times awful and frequent crashes. Since getting WSE2 It loads way faster, runs smoother, and doesn't crash so far. I will finally dare maxing things out. Thank you!

hah. even on my potato of a computer WSE2 makes it possible to play with more than a 52 frame per second rate anywhere but smaller maps in Perisno. plan on testing this out on all my favorite mods including a world of ice and fire.
@@MasterRawl Hm. well it seems attempting to full screen even by command forces a black screen that never updates anything graphics wise but function wise still works. I'm going to file this under 'windows 10 things'. since even before any WSE i couldn't LAUNCH the game in full screen, but could alt enter it into fullscreen with no crash. odd. but its not like windowed loses me much. just wanna play warband without the annoying fact its in windowed mode. (the game can have focus ripped by steam and discord messages and the like.)
@@MasterRawl its definately not exclusive to perisno its the client itself sadly. Perisno doesn't use a custom post fx to edit since they didn't really do shaders of their own (they were against making the mod require WSE. but its not INCOMPATIBLE with WSE.

I noticed a performance improvement instantly however I have a problem with this mod. They changed the player damage option to a slider and it dosen't even work. Whatever setting I put it at it automatically changes to 50% or 100%
I'm having severe stuttering problems when playing Viking Conquest with wse2. I don't know what's producing that issue but maybe it's due to me having the original wse in the same folder? Maybe I need to tinker more the graphic options? Please help.
You're getting a repeating error that overloads the reports. Check the log to see what it is. This also happens if you use the cheat command to defeat an army.
@@MasterRawl Yeah it says script error invalid item -1. I tried tweaking the LOD settings in the edit menu. Reinstalled it a couple times and even happens on all modules.
When i try to open the options in the launcher it just says Error could not open rgl config.ini did i just install it wrongly or am i missing something?
@@zenith3180 I went and looked for the file in the extracted and put a new one in to see if it was just some type of error and it fixed it. I did have to run a game first to see if that maybe helped.
what's your Battle Size!? some mods even on WSE2 just can't handle high battle sizes! I always use 300 but for few specific mods I have to use 150 which is the vanilla max!

So after extracting files and putting them into the correct folder, according to the pathway show'd, I was able to open up the game launcher but is not showing "a World of Ice and Fire" within the launcher. Only native, Vikings, and Napoleon game DLCs. Why is that? When I launch the game via steam I do see the "A world of ice and fire" mod as selection in the launcher.
After I placed the mods in the games mode folder, no change. I still don’t have the option of selecting “A world of ice and fire” mod from the WSE2 launcher but can still see it when I use Steam to launch “a world of ice and fire” mod. What could I be missing?

You are getting messages that are saturating your log. Make sure the cheat menu is off and check your log or Recent Messages to see what is causing it.
Downloaded but when I try to play A World of Ice and Fire my framerate is capped at 24 regardless of graphic settings. It seems to be caused by v-sync, but without it I get screen tears :/

Hey, I had the same issue but I just launched the game, exited it and then I could access the options in the launcher. It was a fresh download (I haven't played the game in 3 years) so maybe that's why you and me got that error.
hi need help changeing the battle size, i went into the rglconfig file for wse and changed it to 500, it shows battle size as 500 in the game, but whenever i go into a big battle it only spawns around 150 troops.

This worked for me, thanks! But I have a question. If I play M&B Warband using WSE2, will my saves for my mods not disappear? Because when I play M&B Warband, my saves will disappear after a while. If I play like In The Name Of Jerusalem mod, then i come back to play the mod again 3 months later, the save are gone, its the same for all my mods to. This means that I have to start a new game in every mod I want to play after a while, which means I cant play M&B Warband. Please help me, what shall I do? Will WSE2 solve this save-problem? @@totalwarbest8702 WSE2 keeps saves in its own folder under documents, like with Warband. Your saves disappearing is not normal. I'd ask on the forums for help with that.
How do I put in the mod "A World of Ice and Fire" into the launcher, I am also having issues with trojan, having notification after annoying notification. I was able to fix other issues like the options issue. But I haven't been able to figure out how to move the mod or the saves.
You have to place your mods here for WSE2 to recognize them. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules If you have further issues, check the forum page. Definitely fixed the crash issues I was having but now I am unable to access cheats when I go into battles such as ctrl h and ctrl alt f4 even with cheats enabled in the campaign settings tab. Have you ever heard of or dealt with this issue?
Been playing AWOIAF for a while and it works fine through the normal launcher but after trying it on WSE2 I get a lot of duplicate and missing texture errors when I start it, once I am in the entire game world is a black screen not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Not sure why you're getting duplicates but the black screen is caused by the Post Processing setting. Turn it off or follow the directions on the page where you downloaded WSE2.

Thank you sooo much, it took me some months to figure out how to use some of the older versions of WSE (WSE1 specifically) This meanwhile took me 5 minutes to work. A question thought, is it possible to get WSE2 to work with steam by chance?
Steam places mods in a different folder. You have to find the folder and then you can move it to the modules folder. I find it easier to just download from Moddb and place the mods myself.
You probably have the mod through Steam and that uses a different folder. The mod needs to go into this folder for WSE2 to recognize it. C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\MountBlade Warband\Modules

@@MasterRawl still cant change it and I've encountered another problem. The awoiaf mod was working fine at first then I started a new game and it bugged. It put me on iron bank tab and it cant load the intro for the mod...(lannister attack) there was also like a voting tab for cheating which is a multiplayer function...
so i downloaded it and once i got in and started a new game i got past the kingslanding thing and i could move around on the map screen but for some reason whenever i entered a battle or a town or city my troops and me couldn't move. its weird cuz sometimes i can move like on a horse but other times nothing worked at all. another thing is whenever i put my graphics anywhere above the low setting the map screen would become completely black. i still haven't found out how to fix either of them. if yall could help with anything id appreciate it.
The black screen is caused by the postFX. You can turn it off or edit the postFX in the mod's folder with this. "You need to edit postFX.fx file from your module and add to the end this strings Code: #if WSE2 #include "postFX_WSE2.fx" #endif
I am also receiving an error message when trying to launch from the WSE2 launcher. "The code execution cannot proceed because d3dx9_43.dll was not found. Reinstalling the program may fix this problem." Looking up the file, it appears to be a default file commonly packaged with most game downloads. I have the mod in the correct place as troubleshooted elsewhere on this thread (mod downloaded from ModDb to the ...MountBlade Warband/Modules location in the directory, with WSE2 files saved into the MB Warband folder), and have tried reinstalling from scratch multiple times. Does anyone have a solution?
Looks great and stopped my crashes even with the item menu used :), I'm having battle issues though where the game thinks there are reinforcements or say killing the white walker expedition it won't flag the quest as complete, I don't know just overall battle issues.
Thank you so much for information about this mod. It really looks good, but i have got one small weird issue. When I start my campaign in awoiaf as a noble man, my character spawns without any boots. When i start with other type of background(like criminal and etc), it's all good. Is there any chance to fix it?
@@lavan_dos the WSE2 developer codes in a way that causes issues with mod developer's codes, at times. You can ask on the forum you downloaded WSE2 if there's a fix. He's good at fixing issues on the WSE2 side.
The developer takes that out as it causes crashes and bugs. You'll need to join the Discord and ask if anyone has the menu.txt file. Make sure to replace the original file after you're done.

So the proper way to do it is to make a new save first in WSE2 (the module you're playing) then find the path of that saved game. Then just replace the saved games in there with your old saves. Simply transferring the folders don't work for some reason. You have to put your saves in the folder it creates with WSE2.@@MasterRawl

It works great, i get no crashes with it when 300 army size. However i got overconfident and raised army to 600 and got an out of memory crash. I think the 4 gigs were maxed. Is there any way to make it use 8 gigs of ram instead?

That's what i recommended doing to the players of my 1257 EE mod. Unfortunately wse2 still has some bugs but it's nothing gamebreaking.
We are having some bugs with AWOIAF as well. Hopefully we can square them away.

Turn off graphic settings like Post Processing. They can cause black screen.

Turn off HDR in the game settings. If that fixes it, you can turn it back on but will need to be repeated for every play session.

I had this problem. I just needed to launch the game once through WSE2 and then close it and I was able to use that options menu.

I'm having the Access Exception error and thought this launcher would fix the error but it didn't change anything
I've heard of that error in Bannerlord but not in Warband.

If your mods are from Steam they're in a folder WSE2 won't recognize. Mods have to be in the modules folder.

Steam puts mods in a different folder than WSE2 uses. You have to put the mod in the game's modules folder for WSE2.

I don't have the WSE2 launcher. I just have the exe that goes straight to the native warband. Very frusturating because it's not in folder.
Then you placed the files into the wrong location. I just checked the download and the files are all there.

There's a setting in the graphic options to set your FPS. Set that to your monitor's refresh rate.

Hey, I had the same issue but I just launched the game, exited it and then I could access the options in the launcher. It was a fresh download (I haven't played the game in 3 years) so maybe that's why you and me got that error.
my warband doesn't detect asoiaf neither does it detect any other mods when launched from this launcher, is it because i installed it from steam?
That's correct. Steam Workshop places mods into a different folder. WSE2 only recognizes mods placed in the Modules folder.
hi need help changeing the battle size, i went into the rglconfig file for wse and changed it to 500, it shows battle size as 500 in the game, but whenever i go into a big battle it only spawns around 150 troops.

Trying to get sultan of sultans submod for ice and fire to work. Havent tried this path since WSE2 is in its base place and what happens currently is it absolutely refuaes to use the mod files ive popped into ice and fire abd WSE2 when launching

I got it working but there are missing textures.
It may be an issue with Sultan of Sultans. I'd ask K700 about it on the AWOIAF discord and the dev for Sultan of Sultans.
This worked for me, thanks! But I have a question. If I play M&B Warband using WSE2, will my saves for my mods not disappear? Because when I play M&B Warband, my saves will disappear after a while. If I play like In The Name Of Jerusalem mod, then i come back to play the mod again 3 months later, the save are gone, its the same for all my mods to. This means that I have to start a new game in every mod I want to play after a while, which means I cant play M&B Warband. Please help me, what shall I do? Will WSE2 solve this save-problem?
And if playing the mods using WSE2 doesnt help, can you do a video on how to solve this save problem?
@@totalwarbest8702 WSE2 keeps saves in its own folder under documents, like with Warband. Your saves disappearing is not normal. I'd ask on the forums for help with that.
How do I put in the mod "A World of Ice and Fire" into the launcher, I am also having issues with trojan, having notification after annoying notification. I was able to fix other issues like the options issue. But I haven't been able to figure out how to move the mod or the saves.
You have to place your mods here for WSE2 to recognize them.

How do I enable cheats? It's not in the launcher menu like the base one.

Definitely fixed the crash issues I was having but now I am unable to access cheats when I go into battles such as ctrl h and ctrl alt f4 even with cheats enabled in the campaign settings tab. Have you ever heard of or dealt with this issue?
I haven't had that issue and it may depend on the mod.

Been playing AWOIAF for a while and it works fine through the normal launcher but after trying it on WSE2 I get a lot of duplicate and missing texture errors when I start it, once I am in the entire game world is a black screen not sure what I'm doing wrong.
Not sure why you're getting duplicates but the black screen is caused by the Post Processing setting. Turn it off or follow the directions on the page where you downloaded WSE2.

Try going to the post for WSE2 and seeing if there's a fix there. The dev is active and helpful.

Thank you sooo much, it took me some months to figure out how to use some of the older versions of WSE (WSE1 specifically) This meanwhile took me 5 minutes to work.

Steam places mods in a different folder. You have to find the folder and then you can move it to the modules folder. I find it easier to just download from Moddb and place the mods myself.

You probably have the mod through Steam and that uses a different folder.
The mod needs to go into this folder for WSE2 to recognize it.

It 's a setting in WSE2's options. You can type in the desired number.
@@MasterRawl still cant change it and I've encountered another problem. The awoiaf mod was working fine at first then I started a new game and it bugged. It put me on iron bank tab and it cant load the intro for the mod...(lannister attack) there was also like a voting tab for cheating which is a multiplayer function...

Your mods need to be in the modules folder. If you got the mods through Steam, they're in a different folder.
I don't know why but using WSE2 makes my game lag it freezes every 3 seconds then repeats, this happens only in battle, and its unplayable :(

so i downloaded it and once i got in and started a new game i got past the kingslanding thing and i could move around on the map screen but for some reason whenever i entered a battle or a town or city my troops and me couldn't move. its weird cuz sometimes i can move like on a horse but other times nothing worked at all. another thing is whenever i put my graphics anywhere above the low setting the map screen would become completely black. i still haven't found out how to fix either of them. if yall could help with anything id appreciate it.
The black screen is caused by the postFX. You can turn it off or edit the postFX in the mod's folder with this.

I've never had your movement bug or heard of it. You can try asking on the forum page where you downloaded WSE2.
I am also receiving an error message when trying to launch from the WSE2 launcher.

Looking up the file, it appears to be a default file commonly packaged with most game downloads. I have the mod in the correct place as troubleshooted elsewhere on this thread (mod downloaded from ModDb to the ...MountBlade Warband/Modules location in the directory, with WSE2 files saved into the MB Warband folder), and have tried reinstalling from scratch multiple times. Does anyone have a solution?
You can download that and install it yourself. TH-cam will have a video tutorial.
Looks great and stopped my crashes even with the item menu used :), I'm having battle issues though where the game thinks there are reinforcements or say killing the white walker expedition it won't flag the quest as complete, I don't know just overall battle issues.
I haven't had those. Are you engaging the White Walker party first? It won't trigger if you join an ongoing battle with them.

Thank you so much for information about this mod. It really looks good, but i have got one small weird issue. When I start my campaign in awoiaf as a noble man, my character spawns without any boots. When i start with other type of background(like criminal and etc), it's all good. Is there any chance to fix it?

@@lavan_dos the WSE2 developer codes in a way that causes issues with mod developer's codes, at times. You can ask on the forum you downloaded WSE2 if there's a fix. He's good at fixing issues on the WSE2 side.

The developer takes that out as it causes crashes and bugs. You'll need to join the Discord and ask if anyone has the menu.txt file. Make sure to replace the original file after you're done.

It works. Make sure you are using the WSE2 launcher and not the original.exe.

PSA: Transporting Saves don't work. SOLVED.
I haven't played in a while but saves used to be easily transferable. Something may have changed. You can ask K700 on the forum.
So the proper way to do it is to make a new save first in WSE2 (the module you're playing) then find the path of that saved game. Then just replace the saved games in there with your old saves. Simply transferring the folders don't work for some reason. You have to put your saves in the folder it creates with WSE2.@@MasterRawl

Steam puts your module folder into a different location and WSE2 won't recognize it.
You'll have to move the folder to your warband/module location.

you're explaining how to tweak a quite old game played mostly by millenials as if you were explaining it to your parents or kids who have never used an actual PC, I doubt many people who bother with Warband are that computer-illiterate

It works great, i get no crashes with it when 300 army size. However i got overconfident and raised army to 600 and got an out of memory crash. I think the 4 gigs were maxed. Is there any way to make it use 8 gigs of ram instead?
