The floating bunk is a great idea, would even come in handy if you have short pieces you want to cut up that don't reach between 2 bunks.
Most sawyers probably wouldn't mess with the odd pieces, but I cut up everything I can. Somebody will use it for something!

Coming from a person who has spent a big part of my life {Now retired} in wood products, I 100% agree with you about the odd pieces. As a part time wood worker, I have often needed small pieces of wood for what I'm trying to make. {Wood lathe} I found your comment to be right on.

The floating bunk is a great idea. A couple things to consider though. It really is not necessary to support the log or cant until it becomes thinner vertically. The thinner it is, the more it will sag. If you waited until say it was only half as thick, then it would have been a lot easier to move. Also, you always want to make sure that there is no dust or wood chips on the support for your floating bunk before you put the bunk down. The floating bunk is a fantastic idea. Great video.

Great work on the mill. I also own one. One accessory to make wig that nice maple are some wedges cut to the width of the bunk. Put some side wings on them so they stay on top of the bunk when not in use. They are handy for keeping the log from rolling back on you 😊

I ordered the tool box with my mill. It replaces one of the bunks. I will take that bunk and put it on the end where your floating bunk is. Good job.

I've got a 122 and build a bunk at the start and end of our 10-4 logs. Noticed it helped with that last board cut. Had the same issue with the last cut at the far end would rise. Also built my own cant hook and lift bars, stores wanted 100s for a tool that takes less then 1 hr to make. Enjoyed the video!

New sub from Nova Scotia, great video, thanks for sharing your experiences. I've had the 130max for about 18 months and love the sawdust. Planning to try my hand at timber framing next year. Going broke buying slicks, chisels, etc. I can think of worse ways to go broke.

what is even more convenient is to slide a few pieces of PVC pipe over the logstops when you tilt it

When you get a little extra money together, consider a shelix head upgrade for the dewalt.

Noticed that you were not using any blade lubricant, any comments or suggestions

Thanks for watching, subscribing, and your comment! Yes, I used water the first year using the mill. I have seen people on the forum talking about adding pinesol and other things to cut the sap build up. I don’t have any pine. On the oak, hickory, and maple I have cut there really isn’t any sap type buildup on the blade. The other issue is blade cooling. I have checked blade temp before and after cutting, I have never had a blade temp over 100 f. So ymmv but I have had good luck milling dry on my mill. I actually feel I am getting as good if not better blade life as well. Thanks again and be safe!

so my dad has been milling for over 6 years 6667 hours on our lt 20 woodmizer and he does it little different he starts cutting from thr but end takes the first board that comes to about 2 meters out of a 5 meter log gets the swell under control and later on the second sut he gets a 2 meter board and 4 meter slab and he bucks them to shorter length and when his got about 10 of them he puts the bucked pieces on the mill on their sides and cuts 2,5x2,5 staples out of those boards if the customer dont have them and so he doesnt waste material and the laborers dont have such a hard time with huge slab wood also he some times on 20-25 cm logs he cuts 2 at the time to speed up the cutting
