Haaaa, thank you! I'm 68 and owned motorcycles for 50 years! Harley has an attitude , geezzee... I have owned them yrs. ago, along with Bmw's Ducati, Japanese !
Exactly. Most people that buy this bike will start to modify it immediately. Some just for performance and cosmetic reasons. Other fixing manufacturer problems. It's pretty freaking sad.
I was in my local Harley dealer today. They have a dealer mark up (bribe) of $2500 on all the 2023 touring models. I am sure the anniversary models will ever higher dealer mark up. They had a 2022 CVO road glide with a $5000 dealer mark up. And they wonder why they can't sell any bikes.
Depends on the dealer. Local market lets them do that, they're going to do it. Here where I am, my local dealer likes to mark stuff up and I don't think they sell as many as most would think... I drove 45 mi over to the next dealer and they sell for MSRP plus whatever fees get stuck on (I think a corporate surcharge of $1000 is bullshit). My guys made their money off the finance and Stage 1+2 I ordered, and they sell bikes like crazy.
About a year ago CEO Jochen Zeitz said he wanted Harley-Davidson to be the Ferrari of motorcycle brands. Maybe pricing them in the stratosphere is his way of doing that.
@@cubiczirconiabeard5366 I live in Naples Florida and see them often. I also see them being towed in to the dealership often for service. They are fast but also crap at the same time.
I've ridden Harley's since I bought my first used bike in nineteen eighty. I learned how to work on my bikes, and stuck with Harley through the bad years when sales were so low, they didn't know if they would be in business from year to year. Then I finally bought my first new bike, a two thousand seven Road Glide. In my opinion, all of the loyal riders who stuck with Harley, are priced out of the market. This is the first look at the twenty three models, and I agree with you. Where is the justification for the sixty thousand dollar price tag. It's sad to think that this is what they are offering to all the people like myself, who never jumped ship through all the bad years. It doesn't seem right.
And it will do everything a 60 G bike will do . I'm sticking with my 14 Streetglide and 05 Deuce . Two beautiful motorcycles that cost me less then a 50 G CVO way less .👍🇬🇧🇺🇲😎
I’m sticking with my old carbureted 02 Electra Glide and my barely broken in 08 Honda Goldwing GL1800 that has more power and torque, the same creature comforts and needs no upgrading. And I only paid $10k cash for her out the door. I love having a dependable machine that will go coast to coast on a whim and an old school Harley that still turns heads when I pull into a dealership. See my channel for confirmation 😎
Right lol this guy is broke and he’s trying to complain on quality like I said in my above comment if I could afford a Lamborghini I would have one but in the meantime I’m enjoying my Harleys. I have nothing over does quality over price if I go buy a phone from the dollar store is not going to be the same as an iPhone and that’s just how it is
I couldn’t agree more with you I believe HD has lost their way. Specially if they don’t do something with all these charges and fees. The way prices have gone up the only charge that can’t be avoided is tax, tag, and title.
Last year i purchased a fully packed BMW R18 Classic at around $16K after all the discounts (still available) with their 0% financing. Fantastic motorcycle with a quality of materials, engineering and quality control far above and beyond HD. I checked with a few HD dealerships at that time and ran away when they (after hours of fighting) finally show me the total price. Asking 25-30% over MSRP is a nonsense.
Which is why I ride a 1990 Honda Goldwing GL1500 SE in mint condition, which I purchased for $3,500 from the original owner with only 83,000 miles on it. I recently hit 90,000 and it purrs like a kitten. $60,000 is absolute insanity, PERIOD!
The bike is too expensive , for sure. Also for sure is there is nobody in their right mind who would rather own a 1983 gold wing vs this CVO. Suggesting otherwise is silly. It’s Harley’s call on their pricing structure. Most guys are gonna get a street glide/ road glide so presumably the guys who buy this bike are gonna be doctors and lawyers who want a weekend toy and have the discretionary income to justify blowing 60k in a bike. I don’t care that they market this bike , just wish they were also offering some lower priced options to get more younger people on their machines. You would assume they realize that’s important for their long term health…
@@kennethwise7108 …. So true! However, I bought with cash my GoldWing used with basically the same ‘comforts’ and more power and torque with only 23k miles for 1/6th the cost of this new HD. And I won’t need to make $700+ per month payments.
For a long time the rule of thumb was always sell a Harley for what you paid for it, they didn't depreciate. Example if you paid $5000 for one new in 1978 you could ride it 10 years and sell it for $5000 of course if you wanted a new one you would have to put a couple more grand on it. We didn't mind paying too much because they held their value, Today Harleys depreciate just as fast (probably faster) as anything else. H-D needs to get over themselves.
Good comments on the HD. I'm amazed at their business strategy. While losing millions for years, their solution is to put out an underpowered overweight bike for the price of an upscale SUV. Genius!
Even if I was rich I would be embarrassed to buy a CVO for $60,000. As soon as I ride it down the street everyone will know I was dumb enough to pay $60,000 for a motorcycle.
Does it even have electronic suspension, adjustable on the fly? Riding modes? Mate, it has become clear who the HD target market is. At that price it should have the 131 motor. Either way, it doesn't matter, there are folks out there that will buy it because they can (good luck to them) and HD is laughing all the way to the bank.
Exactly!! The younger generation isn’t fooled by the lame marketing campaign. If they shell out that kind of money, they want to see a product that justifies that price tag.
This man hits the nail in the head. I own several Harleys, and let's face the facts. It has not changed in decades, plus or minus a little more power or digital upgrades. Not worth the prices they are asking.
How old are your Harleys? I kept passing on Harley Davidson until 2018 after the M8 and new frames with better suspension came out. A lot of fundamental changes that made them worthy of finally opening my wallet and letting go of my Japanese bike.
I love my Harley but I will NEVER pay 60k for one. I find it hard to believe that a company as old as Harley would do such an amateur marketing strategy. If doubling your prices would save you. Nobody in history would have ever went out of business. That's generally the last hurrah for anyone on the brink of collapsing. Raising their prices to a ridiculous amount. So long Harley. It was nice knowing you.
Cousin bought a special edition HD many yrs., ago (back when there was a waiting list and used bikes going for the same price or more as new). He decided he wanted something else a couple yrs., later. Dropped it by the dealer to talk trade-in or sale it. Dealer told him it was just a Road Glide lol It's a special high dollar bike when they are selling them. It's a regular production bike with different paint when trying to sell it back
Well you are missing the point… try to buy one… you can’t even get them at this price… they sell in days if not hours.. don’t get me wrong I’m good with my 2021 road glide cvo but my point is these bikes don’t even get warm on the show room floor
@@stevexaxa3619 Depends on where you live. Some models sell and some don't. Live in a big city with a couple of national sports teams? Players with more money than brains? Of course the CVO's will sell. Medium size city maybe not quite so fast. I was talking to a salesman in a large Florida dealership about Pan America sales. He says they've already tanked after the first year. Just like the XR1200, hot for a year or two, then gone.
I talked to an older gentlemen (67) who ponied up 61,000 OTD for the anniversary Road Glide. He’s been riding over 40 years and a Road Glide was his dream bike. He bought it and paid cash as a gift to himself for retirement. He’s a good dude and was nice enough to let me sit on it. If he’s happy and saw the value in it, more power to him.
Spot on Ridge Roamer. I've owned four used CVO "cruisers" in the last five years all dyno'd with V&H exhaust and super tuners and none of them will touch my bone stock '05 Goldwing. CVO cruisers do not hold their value and go for a fraction of the cost of new ones. Don't get me wrong, loved my CVO's but only because I bought them cheap enough. They are all on my channel. Great vid Ridge Roamer!!!🦾👍
Looks like I'm keeping my 2016 Ultra Limited. I've been on Harley's for 50 years and I gotta say HD missed the mark big time for the 120th anniversary. Even without the CVO's the prices have gotten unreal when you factor in dealer markup's. My local dealer has a $9000 markup over MSRP on the 2023 touring models. They have a 2023 Ultra Limited, in all black finish $39,999. I'm sure somebody will buy them but it ain't gonna be me.
@@jorgedelgado3357 stock bike vs stock bike, the Gold Wing will smoke most everything in its class of bikes. You can modify anything and make it fast. I’ve seen beetles I wouldn’t race in my Z06. But for stock bikes the Gold Wing brings a lot to the table. Especially the DCT version.
Had a RG and really liked it. Tried to buy a 22 RG CVO. It was almost 60k. Test drive a 22 GoldWing. Has more features including nice paint. 6 cylinder DCT. Bought it off the showroom floor for $29500. Absolutely love it. Would buy it again if they were the same price. And did I mention the GW will smoke the CVO stock.
I’m very happy with my 2007 FLHX set up perfectly for me. I bought it used 3 years ago for $7K. I put $3K into it and have a great bike for $10k. I never will spend that kind of money for new when there are so many low mileage used bikes on the market for cheap. All you RUB’s keep buying these and I’ll buy your used bikes that you hardly ever rode anyway!
Harley has priced me right out of the game, just can’t afford them anymore and I don’t think I would spend that much on a motorcycle anyway, well it’s time to look at some other brands
I'm the same way. I've ridden Harleys for 30+ years, but after I sold my 2012 Road Glide Ultra two years ago, I decided Harley prices were completely out of touch with reality. Made the switch to BMW buying a K1600 and haven't looked back. More power, more features, and most importantly, 200 lbs less weight all for a lot less money. Harley prices are even more out of touch when you consider they don't hold their resale value as well as they used to. The country is flooded with used Harleys. There are more used Harleys for sale in the US than there are riders to buy them.
A friend of mine just picked his up last weekend. Yep! 60k. He has the money to throw away. It IS a beautiful bike. I have a '17 Road Glide Special(hotrod red) and built it out with all of the "Ultra" appointments. I blinked and spent 36k building it.🤤 I used to build new Harleys in the heyday. The RG is THE highway bike if you like trips. Mine is lightly massaged due to the stock 107 being neutered at the factory. It dyno'ed at 115tq & 104hp with very minor work. It is also quite tame on the low end until you throttle it. I built out a stock black ultra decades ago to compare what you'd get for the SE price. At the time I think the SE was mid 30s(ish) on the tag. To build it with accessories, paint and labor would've cost around 65 to 70k. I have no idea about the value on the new bikes but those custom paint jobs on an ultra style bike would be upwards of 10k. That said, it doesn't get me wet enough to drop as much as I spent on my '22 Ram 1500 Rebel! Lol
I'm a Harley guy all day long and I'm looking to get a dresser in the near future. Thanks to the insane prices Harley is asking, I'm going to probably go with a Goldwing loaded out for half of the price.
I just traded in my 2018 Goldwing Tour. I had a head injury in November last year and I cannot ride a 2-wheel machine no longer. I ordered a 2023 Cam-Am Spyder RT Limited. I promise you will not be disappointed in the Goldwing Tour.
I have said this many times over the last 7-8 years. You build them, don’t buy them. $60k is a lot of cash. I am fortunate enough to to afford such a ridiculous purchase but there is some serious shit you can buy for $60k and Harley isn’t even close to being on that list. You can build a bad ass Harley for $20k if that is your fancy lol
I have a 2018 115th Anniversary CVO limited. It was 44k and I was thinking about upgrading. 51k is over the top...7k more than I paid for the same bike with a different paint job... isnt worth it to me. I probably have 10 k into mine and if I do same to this new one it puts me well over 70k. Ill just get the newer radio for mine and Ill be happy. Id rather have a C8 vette...or maybe look at Indian
Yeah someone I know got one and he was trying to show up my 96 FXDL. I told him that there's a few of those around here but there's only one of mine, lol. He wanted to get mad with me but was wise and didn't say anything derogatory.
Loved the Gold wing comparison. I always road a 57FLH last year rigid. 40years. One year my buddies wanted to ride to Sturgis from Southern Maryland... The talk for months was Hitech riding that old rigid Panhead to Sturgis. What they didn't know. I purchased a Gold wing just like the one you showed. Except it was Navy Blue and Gold. For $1500.00. I was the only Rider that didn't have any issues out to Sturgis and back to Maryland. I sold the Gokd wing for $2000.00 when I got home.
Granted 60k is out of this world. However, if you want to compare it to goldwing costs, then don't compare to a special anniversary cvo model. Instead, go with the standard Road Glide vs Goldwing. Apples to Apples will find them much more in line.
If they had thrown in exhaust, bars, seat of choice, made it stage 4, it might not be as laughable. If it's going to wear the badge custom vehicle it should at least wear the best custom parts harley offers
Yes, a truly custom motorcycle experience may warrant that price. For $52k, you order it with your choice of every component and accessory option, and it gets built to your specs. That I could understand.
I agree with your comments. This is insane. In Canada the same bike will go for almost 80k when taking into account all the fees and taxes. For that money I could comfortably buy 2 BMW 1250GS and still have some money left...
Just bought a 2019 cvo street glide limited. Had 2,888. Miles on it paid 37. Sales tax, gap insurance, extended warranty, reg 44,000. I bought it Thursday January 26, 2023. I pulled into my driveway yesterday February 7 2023 at 4:00 pm and it had 6,7252 miles on it.
You are spot on great points these guys lost it , and don’t forget to change your the plastic lifter guides as they are know to have high failure early on the engines life 😂
I like both HD & Indians and before purchasing a bike, I compare models. Hands down, my Pursuit Limited Premium is a better value with a better ride, more performance, and cost way less money compared to the CVO. It's just my humble opinion.
Concur. I bought a Goldwing DCT Touring and it’s an amazing motorcycle. But hey, HD can sell a bike without an operating windscreen or an electronically adjustable suspension for $52K.
I've been buying cvo bikes for 20 years. I absolutely agree with you 100%. This is insane to buy any new bike that's off the production line for 60k. I don't get it at all. I have a 2019 cvo road glide. I'm going to hang on to it for as long as I can. Stuart.
I agree they’ve lost their freaking minds. I picked up 2007 CVO ultra about five years ago. Got it with a warranty for 12.5k. If you ask me, my bike, looks 100 times better than this thing. And it has a stage three kit on it.
I test road several of Harleys bikes for the best bike to ride home. I found it, the one I came in on my 1971 Honda 750E built to 836 cc's. After 40 years, still one kick never let me down kind of bike. Never !
I love how the Guy and Girl at the beginning was all Harleyed up. Harley jacket,Harley helmet,Harley boots,Harley socks,Harley lighter,Harley draws, Harley gloves, Harley condom,Harley pants, did I miss anything?
I prefer HD's over the others but, while I could afford this, there is NO way on God's green Earth that I'd spend that ridiculous kind of $$$. I'll keep my $7K OTD (used) '07 Softail. Still in love with its nostalgic, WW-sporting, chrome-dripping vibe.
In Ontario Canada, our tax is 13% and this bike comes to $90,000 before dealer markup. I wanted to buy a new Heritage this year but $38,000 out the door is just dumb sh!t. BTW, I bought new my 2019 Challenger Scat Pack 392 Widebody fully loaded for $70,000 after 13% tax.
The price for that CVO is insane. I'm sure HD will sell all 1500 of them, but it's a shame they charge these kinds of prices because it puts bikes like these out of reach for most people.
That is the point. Out of reach of most people. There are restaurants that are out of reach of most people. Cars that are out of reach of most people,. On and on. The few that can well afford items that are out of reach of most people buy those things because they are out of reach of most people. Things like that are what drive some people to work even harder to become successful so they can buy things that are out of reach of most people. Within the group of most people there will be those who are happy with what they can reach, those that strive to reach more, and those that just whine about things being out of reach.
When it comes to performance Harley has been for the last ten years consistently putting a ass whooping on all things Briggs and Stratton , you can take that to the bank !
Good one! It's a "Keep up with the Jones" kind of thing I guess..I'am 71 and have had 13 street bikes (I ain't too smart) and no Harleys..Closest one was a 2006 VTX1800..Was a very good bike but I like more power so I bought a 2012 Kawasaki ZX-14R...Fun, fun and more fun..Don't have too many beers and take it out! Sadly let it go and now have a 2015 FJR1300..I like the cruise control, heated grips and electric windshield in my waning years, but now I want a newer Boss Hoss..I think I'm losing it... Bout the same price as the Harley. Hmm..Any bikes using Briggs and Stratton?

Paid 3,000.00 for a used Honda shadow with 4000 miles, put on viking saddle bags, luggage rack and passenger back rest. It ain't fancy or the best but it works, so far it has started every time I've wanted to use it and I haven't had to repair anything. The Honda is 17 years old
HD has gone crazy with these prices. What's funny he mentioned the 1983 Goldwing I have that same bike but the Aspencade model and it is a heck of a bike, plus a 2011 Roadglide I love. I be damned even if rich would I fork out that kinda cheddar. I'll Pass!
I saw this bike yesterday it is beautiful… I been wanting to see it and as everyone who has stated it is an awesome paint job in person beautiful bike… the dealership had it 2 days it has a hold on it so someone is trying to buy it .. they said they are selling the second one now
Well I have been riding HD since 1971 and Tour Glides and Road Glides exclusively since 1984 . Even the old hands when I was a young pup said that HD always cost a bit more than the competition .. But this is stoopid money here .. I am perfectly content with my 2011 RGU TC103 , waited for years for HD to come out with the Ultra RG and it's over rated .. Never use the radio, CB or intercom .. As long as there are people who will pay it , HD will sell it for that money .. Bought my bikes for riding , not for looking at and worrying if it will get dirty if I ride it .
I am soooo thankful I found a beautiful excellent condition, (exept for a little pitting on the floorboards) 2005 Candy Cherry red 103 Screaming Eagle, 5062 MILES ON IT FOR $8500!!!! $8500 dollars then I spent $500 to have it professionally detailed and ceramic clear gloss coating put on, The bike is cleaner than new. So, for $21.000 dollars I now have two beautiful excellent condition big ass Harley Davidson horses in my barn, (house) Now my toughest decision everyday is..... which horse do I want to ride? The Caddy or the Ferrari? After my friend sent me some photo's of the Electra Glide I thought about it for two weeks. Then I got tired of not being able to sleep and figured if I have to get a house mate, I'm going to buy that Electra Glide. Two days later it was my bike. I have no regrets at all. In 1979 I bought my first Harley, a Whore house red Superglide with the brand new 80ci engine in Lawton OK for $4700 dollars...... brand new. So forty plus years later, for twice the amount, I have two almost new bikes. Back in the Saddle my friend!
$$$ is what the company is thinking. "Surcharges attributable to raw materials cost" I would think should be part of the initial 50 grand? It sure isn't for R&D because, as you pointed out, they haven't changed much in the past 20 years or so and the same basic engineering hasn't changed in a century.
Harley soul was in some sense simplicity,I have my air cooled iron 883 and I love it Harley’s job is not to compete with modern brands and that’s exacly their aim
LoL, I love the video and the reality slap comparison of the goldwing and the cvo. The reality is that people will spend this outrageous 60k cause it's a new CVO. That's also the reality that it's the bragging rights, I got the new CVO yet no one is bragging over their goldwing.
HD is the Apple of motorcycles - their products are beautiful, well designed, have brand recognition, are more expensive than they warrant, and there's always some sucker who'll buy it regardless of the cost. It's good to have a niche. o7

The only thing that could even attempt to justify this price is it being limited to 1500 units. It’s not going to be bought by somebody who plans on riding it often, more than likely it’ll be purchased as a collectors item.

i stopped in to a dealer this summer to pick up some oil and parts. just browsing around the store and i ran into a salesman, or i should say, he corralled me. i wasn't looking to buy anything new, i was just looking. As we talked i did make the mistake of giving him my number. He messaged me about 3 week's ago that they got this specific CVO in and i should come look at it. I asked him what the tag was on this, and like the video says $56000 to start... i told him no thanks. My 2017 Ultra is perfect for me. already paid off and still has the remainder of the ESC until 2024. no reason to spend this kind of crazy money. I know there is an ass for every seat, but not mine
You nailed this. The CVO’s are ridiculously overpriced and for the performance they deliver a waste of money. A new Softail ST for 30k is also stupid. No, I’m done with HD and their brand.
That's targeted at a senior heart surgeon that makes $500,000 a year, and is going through a mid life crisis. But he doesn't know beans about motorcycles. And HD's $60K bike settles it, HD is a joke.
Remember when HD had waiting lists and people were paying $40,000 in the early 90’s. I remember. $51,000 30 years later doesn’t seem insane. We’ve had 3 years of people paying $90,000 for a Ford F-150s and Dodge Cars and not one person has complained. They just bought it anyway. I’ve always wondered why HD is supposed to sell motorcycles for $5,000? Do you walk into Porsche and demand they sell a $10,000 car?
I have two Harley's. I get your point . I could get one no 💩but I'm not going to. As much as I love bikes I don't believe you can compare a bike to a top of the range supercar/truck.Look at the materials it takes to make a car then what it takes to create the bike. What is the frame gold plated or something. The bikes got more metal or wiring in it ? My brother in law has a 2003,anniversary ULTRA Classic and a 2003 anniversary Softail Deuce . He hardly ever rides it 🤔He thinks it's gonna be worth a bazillion $$$$ one day ! Nope sorry it won't. I ride my 14 Streetglide Firefighter Shrine and 2005 Deuce but guess what we're only here once. I didn't buy my bikes to look at . And people are riding decades old bikes and loving the old stuff more .I get it people might want to hang on to one in pristine condition and sell it down the road ,and some will put their butts into financial woe to make payments but is it worth it in the long run ? I'm nearly 64, been riding 47 years and my bikes should see me out . That goes for my Generation where the youngsters just don't seem interested and most certainly don't have a spare 50/60 G laying around.👍🇬🇧🇺🇲😎
Harley is not Porsche. The selling point of HD is that it was an " every mans, blue collar " motorcycle. They're trying to make it a premium brand. It's not and shouldn't be. When your entry level motorcycle is 16k, you price out a vast majority of the market. You want your bikes to accessible to 20 something buyers. If not, they won't be loyal to them at 40 something. Also, that shortage you mentioned? It was manufactured and the prices were not what you claimed. I lived through it.
@@paulhall8027 Maybe you can explain why I go to ALL the Rallies, why there are 90% HD’s of the total attendees there, than ALL manufacturers “combined”. HD’s may be pricey, but everyone that has one, likes them..,,and when an HD shows up at bike night, jaws drop because they are so beautiful. 💯👍
@@genekelley7579 That’s fairly easy to answer. Rally’s are predominately Harley events and always have been. You see a sprinkling of other manufacturers, but it’s primarily Harley Riders. Now, here is what I would ask you. Are you seeing tons of new HDs or are most of the 5+ years old? If you’re seeing more 2007 road kings than 21 Road Glides, that tell you something. The best selling motorcycle manufacturer in the world is Honda. Why? Because they are cheap and reliable. They aren’t for me, but they capture young riders due to price point. Young riders buying your product equals brand longevity.

I agree the price point is too high on the new 2023 CVO’s, but come this time next year; I’ll bet there isn’t one left for sale on sales floor. Harleys aren’t a Honda, get past it. Harley’s are an upper scale motorcycle that Honda wished they were, like upper Class 7 Series BMW to a Ford Edge. 🤷♂️
I've always admired HD. Even if I was a muti millionaire I wouldn't pay that for that bike. HD is heading down the no return road of pricing themselves out of the market. Oh and the idea of building more electric bikes.. Time for a new CEO
🛑🛑 I know a Multi-Millionaire. 💯 He owns 8 CVO’s, and 3 of them sit in his Multi Million Dollar home in Florida.💯 He’ll continue to buy them, and HD will continue to sell them, because in the end; NO CVO Bike will be sitting on the sales floor by this time next year. 😆👍 It’s a Harley. 👍
@@genekelley7579 Yes, and those over-priced bikes will set in his garage gathering dust. Then when your multi-millionaire friend dies or simply gets bored of tripping over them, they will be sold at auction for a fraction of what he paid for them. (who know, maybe I'll buy one of them...for about $15 grand or less!)
Harley is insane. But if ppl are paying that price, why not? I have a 2023 SGS and i love this bike. I'll drop a few k into it but that is it. Love HD.
@@muskywhiskerbisquet1156 How about my 17 2500HD, or my 5500HD RAM? That's the problem with the Harley community, it's always about what they would like to portray and not who they really are.
Why not also mention your Rebel 500? You are trying to compare apples to oranges. Even though I was making a joke to you…. My point is they are not marketing that bike to someone like you. Any stretch of the imagination wouldn’t try to argue this is great value. It is essentially for someone that is not looking at a value vs whatever. It is for someone that wants a certain item and is willing to pay whatever. A quick comparison would be whatever expensive Nike shoe vs a knockoff. Do you think the Nike does something that a regular tennis shoe doesn’t?
I bought 2 sportsters in the last year......$2000 / $2,300. Total of 14,000 miles between the 2 bikes...... $4,300 for all the Harley Davidson riding I need to do for the rest of my life. In my opinion Harley is just asking to be disowned by the riding public.
Welp - most Harley dealers were charging at least a $5,000 upcharge to reserve and acquire the 2022 CVO’s putting the price well over $50,000. Do you see any 2022 CVO’s sitting on any of the dealership floors? Nope - folks are buying them and will continue to buy them. Just becuase you can’t afford them doesnt mean lots of other folks can’t. Guess they’re just not for you.
Actually a quick search online shows a nice selection of new 2022 CVO's for sale at dealerships. And it's not a matter of being able to afford one, it's not seeing the value offered over an already expensive $29k base model of the same motorcycle. But you are correct that it is not for me... No way I'd spend $60k of my money on this.
Actually other folks can't afford them, either. Credit's the name of the game these days. Get into the bike of your dreams for a low monthly payment. Just tell them what number range you're looking for and they'll make it work ;-) That's the only reason high-dollar bikes (including Indian bikes) continue to sell well.
Just get an Indian Pursuit with Premium Package. Even an Icon color will save you 20K and you won’t have to do a thing to it. It’s already a beast off the showroom floor.
At the rate Harley is dropping its entry level models.. ie: Road King Classic, Electra Glide standard, Ultra Classic, Sportster old school, and so on, it seems they are just shooting themselves in the foot. I for one will soon get a blood transfusion to Indian blood, they have three models that I like, I've ridden the Challenger, and Chieftain, and when the weather here in Michigan permits I'll do some more test rides I'll make a choice and Harley will lose another die hard Harley rider although if possible I'll keep my 06 RK.
60 grand and it still needs Legend suspension, a different seat, different bars, and the list goes on.
That`s really sad
insane...did they fix the oil pump? destination charges???
And Limited people will buy! 😂
Exactly sprint car !
Dont forget ,, No reverse
My neighborhood suburban cycle gang, Hell’s Accountants, will eagerly pony up the cash just to be the super best on their annual 15 mile group ride
🤣🤣 Thats good one
Haaaa, thank you! I'm 68 and owned motorcycles for 50 years! Harley has an attitude , geezzee... I have owned them yrs. ago, along with Bmw's Ducati, Japanese !
They pander to the elite while playing the rebel attitude!
🤣🤣
I love Harley...I have two (use to have three) but their price is just way way out there !
😂
I don’t know what’s worse. Charging 60 grand or being crazy enough to pay that for a bike needing upgrades right after you pay it
I was at my local dealer and the salesman said he would give me a screaming deal. He offered my friend 4000 off a bagger with out trying.
FX Caprarra gave me a great deal on a '23 Ultra Limited this past Wednesday. Might want to check them out.
BUNCH OF CROOKS !
I looked at a dealer also and they put a mark up of 3500 on every bike. Nope not this guy!
About a year ago CEO Jochen Zeitz said he wanted Harley-Davidson to be the Ferrari of motorcycle brands. Maybe pricing them in the stratosphere is his way of doing that.

60k is pocket change for a lot of people. Harley knows that they’ll be buying their CVOs. Me, I’ll stick with my trusty Road King.
I have nothing over does quality over price if I go buy a phone from the dollar store is not going to be the same as an iPhone and that’s just how it is
I love Harley’s and have owned six but no Harley is worth $60K. I don’t even think they’re worth $30K, whether you can afford one or not.
Same here! Would love a CVO! I will keep my 01 RK, just turned 160,000 Miles!
I’m a Harley mark and that price is insane.
For that price it should be the most advanced and fastest bike of its class.
Yes very pricey but these are built for a particular market subset. To each his own if you got it flaunt it sort of thing I suppose.
When a Harley guy advise you to buy a 1983 Goldwing instead of a $60,000 Harley that's something else.
Yep…. I will stick with my 02 Electra Glide and my 08 GoldWing GL-1800. Both paid for. No issues with either
I like the people who will argue with you and say..."Actually, it's not that bad of a deal considering all you get with the bike".
CVOs should come with the 131 crate motor for that price. At least.
Yeah and at least 150 HP at that. Good lord
I've heard people criticizing Harley's prices for years. Until people stop buying them, nothing will change. I'm doing my part!
Yes those prices are insane. I would never buy this kind of bike for that much money
Now people see what I had been saying for 30 years
I love my Harley but I will NEVER pay 60k for one.
It's a regular production bike with different paint when trying to sell it back
This is insane, they really want to go out of business with this kind of pricing
It was like this the last two years. At least where I use to work
Hope they do go out due their arrogance !
Tell that to Rolex watches. People buying these bikes got money to burn.
Good story. His kids are going to be disappointed though, when they can’t get $20K for it at the estate sale.
Wow !!! I can't see paying that kind of money for a motorcycle . And damn you ain't wrong it looks similar to the 83 golding.
Goldwing
I love all bikes. My 21 Goldwing was $28,000 and can beat most bikes on the road. Handling is excellent as is the comfort.
I love all jap bikes. I also have 21 gw DCT tour.
I also have a 21 DCT tour. Bought it used $26k, plus tax was around 28
Most bikes? You might want to rethink that!
I imagine you are talking “everything in its class” referring to other large touring bikes, right?
Thats why you just wait a few months after the bikes release and buy a second hand one for about 15k less then the dealership is charging.
So will the indians.
I, Happy own a 2009 Heritage and plan to ride it into the sunset people.
That's what I been saying for 30 years
A friend of mine just picked his up last weekend. Yep!
@kc5hgv thank you for your reply. I'm sorry about your injury, but it's good that you can still get out and ride something. Those Goldwings are nice.
That's what I'm doing. 20k let's you put a mean motor in it. I'm just doing a 96 ci.

The price for that CVO is insane. I'm sure HD will sell all 1500 of them, but it's a shame they charge these kinds of prices because it puts bikes like these out of reach for most people.
A fool and his money will soon depart.
Its not meant for "most people".
The prices of the CVO’s have become insane, I would assume there’s not a whole lot of customers waiting to get one.

Good for you! There are too many low milage Harley's out there to pay their outrageous prices they are asking for new. Is yours a bagger? th-cam.com/video/Kj8Y93E29E0/w-d-xo.html
@@doorguru168888 That's it!!! Same model. Although I will admit this one is in much better shape. I have this video saved on my favored list with the blue and yellow models. I love this bike, it's so smooth I call it the 'Caddy.' Mine sat in a dusty garage on the river in Jensen Beach FL for 17 years. A friend called me and told me a client of his had this old bike for sale. He briefly told me about it, I didnt know anything about this model and I told him that I just bought a 2004 Fat Boy for $9200 dollars and it only had 4400 miles on it!!! This one truly is in mint condition! I dont think it has ever been in the rain. Many many chrome upgrades. I found it on line sitting in Clinton TN. I paid $900 dollars to have it shipped to me in SC. $11.000 dollars and I have this incredible blue 2004 Fat Boy. I have 6900 miles on it now, I bought it last March.
How much do you think they will be worth in 5 years, when the 125 th year anniversary comes out
Anniversary models are Bullshit...look what the 100th Anniversary models are not worth today.
There going to be worthless when you go to trade it in.
Most everything depreciates. But I’ll bet, you have never owned, or sold a CVO
They have very strong residual value.
@@loudog9153 material things are only worth what we’re willing to pay for it
If it was a Goldwing from 1983 it would be a reliable motorcycle.
That's IT boys and girls it's a flagship!!!! It can float, and it's got premium, premium, premium paint ! 😉
Only 1,500 made my dealer has on it's on the floor with no additional markup. And yes it does look like an 80's gold wing
In Canada, the MSRP STARTS at $65,999
Nothing wrong with it. Seems like it makes my old bike worth more.
I grew up on Harley's and owned five of them. They lost sight of their core customers. So long H-D!!!
Bye!
HD is the Apple of motorcycles - their products are beautiful, well designed, have brand recognition, are more expensive than they warrant, and there's always some sucker who'll buy it regardless of the cost. It's good to have a niche. o7
Apple is a leader in new technology. harley is more like rolex. Rolex watches aren't as good at keeping time as a casio and don't have as many features but rolex is a hype name.
Apple doesn't do anything new, they steal ideas and repackage them. Name 3 things apple did before anyone else, especially in the last 4 years. @@maydaverave
I'd love to have that old Gold Wing
I'll just keep my 2 shovels, 2 Evo's and 1 twin cam ... loads of fun ... paid for and hot rodded to my specifications.
The only thing that could even attempt to justify this price is it being limited to 1500 units. It’s not going to be bought by somebody who plans on riding it often, more than likely it’ll be purchased as a collectors item.
Not knocking Harleys, since I've owned one, but my 02 Honda VTX 1800C came with 107 hp from the factory...
I just got it a few months ago for $2,700. She still passes Harleys like nothing lol
I understand the "exclusivity" of CVO ownership but an Ultra with $30,000 thrown at it could/should be truly one of a kind.
Yeah, just grab a shopping cart and put every accessory on the peg board on it is really all you'd need to do
I spent $6,000 for my new 2007 Suzuki DRZ400S, $2,500 for my used 2004 Honda 1300C and $8,000 for my used Suzuki VStrom 1000. I have just as much fun on a bike as at Harley rider
Man wanted a rare $10,000 horse. Farmer had a horse worth 50 bucks. He told the man it was a rare horse worth $10,000, and the man bought it. Don’t be the man. 😕
You can get the scatpack and the minty Wing with Harley CVO paint and still have gas money. Brilliant use of the Goldwing. Subscribed
Harley Davidson Motorcycles Co... They have bumped their heads... A) Cancelling Evolution Sportster Models B) Prices are outrageous
i stopped in to a dealer this summer to pick up some oil and parts. just browsing around the store and i ran into a salesman, or i should say, he corralled me. i wasn't looking to buy anything new, i was just looking.
Harley Davidson,,should be sold in Ferrari dealerships,,maybe then they could get the rich suckers to pay that kind of money,,!!
One came in my local dealer. Someone bought it before it even made it to the showroom. Crazy right?
No way Jose. Hopefully they get the message. I'm in the flood area of SW FL. 1500.00 cars are suddenly 6000.00.
While I agree the price tag is rather steep, saying that "changes have been minor" since 1979 is flat out wrong.
Harley keeps raising their prices like this they won’t be around much longer
I guess they figure if people have the money to drop on Ducatis and H2s, they can do the same for HDs.
That's targeted at a senior heart surgeon that makes $500,000 a year, and is going through a mid life crisis. But he doesn't know beans about motorcycles.
And HD's $60K bike settles it, HD is a joke.
I just bought a new Street Glide ST, >$30k. Still absorbing the fact that i spent that much money on a motorcycle.
You know, now that you mention it, that paint job does kind of remind me of an older Gold Wing. Ha! 🤣
Exactly my reaction when I looked it up recently.
@@paulhall8027
Maybe you can explain why I go to ALL the Rallies, why there are 90% HD’s of the total attendees there, than ALL manufacturers “combined”.
@@paulhall8027
Sir….I go ALL over.
I was in Sturgis, Kentucky, Daytona, Laconia, Ocean City MD, Biketoberfest, and ALL the local events and Bike Nights; and ride a CVO Ultra Ultra (the 3rd CVO I’ve owned) in 2022.
I’m not sure you have a clue what you are talking about. 🤷♂️
I see new HD’s and amazing custom HD’s. They aren’t Honda’s.
Those laying out the cash are the insane ones proving PT Barnum right
I've always admired HD.
Even if I was a muti millionaire I wouldn't pay that for that bike.
HD is heading down the no return road of pricing themselves out of the market. Oh and the idea of building more electric bikes.. Time for a new CEO
🛑🛑 I know a Multi-Millionaire. 💯
He owns 8 CVO’s, and 3 of them sit in his Multi Million Dollar home in Florida.💯
He’ll continue to buy them, and HD will continue to sell them, because in the end; NO CVO Bike will be sitting on the sales floor by this time next year.
😆👍
It’s a Harley. 👍
@@genekelley7579 not for that price

You don’t get it.
The High End Buyers don’t care about the price.
They just want the bike, and the Exclusivity of having it.
@@genekelley7579 Yes, and those over-priced bikes will set in his garage gathering dust. Harley is insane. But if ppl are paying that price, why not? I have a 2023 SGS and i love this bike. I'll drop a few k into it but that is it. Love HD.
They completely lost it for sure 😂.
That cost more than my 2017 RAM 2500, 2021 Prius, and Rebel 500 combined.
You have a Prius, nuff said….I don’t think Harley is trying to sell bikes to people with that mindset……
@@muskywhiskerbisquet1156 I enjoy Harley but not at that price. That Rebel 500 was $4.9k new, and now has 53k miles.
Most people can't. That's why they are now offering 96 month financing.
@@hiflyer1168 local dealership is offering a 108 month financing term now.

Watch out. Those foolish enough to buy a CVO will be awfully upset at you pointing out their…….well, you know 😂
