- WHAT A DAY!!! We have been dreaming of getting our tinny here for years and we finally made it!!
In this video we make our way from Sarina to Airlie Beach. We park up on one of our viewers properties on the outskirts of town and explore the whitsundays.

In December 2015 we packed up and hit the road for what we thought would be a 12 month Lap of Oz. Fast forward 6 years and we are creating a video series of our travels to show you all what it’s like to live life on the road!!

I stayed on Sth Molle in the 80's and one of the day activities was a snorkeling trip to Hook Island. The fish were amazing and they said there was a resident huge grouper but I didn't see it. We went onto the island and there was a camping area. But the snorkeling was amazing.

Highly recommend Ocean Rafting tours. We went with them last July and our kids loved it

Development killed the Whitsunday islands. I was employed and lived there through the majority of it. Whenever I see it's so called new beauty I feel sorry for the Proserpine locals who tried to keep it a secret.
Yeahhh Airlie Beach was a good place at one stage but the do gooders from down south that have moved to the area have ruined it now and of course the local council and developers have listened to them and not to the actual locals that have lived in the area for many years as the old saying goes money talks
I stayed at Hook Island resort in the 1980's. The concrete pad beside the beach was the communal kitchen and bar. The cabins were up the hill a little further. From memory, there was also a small aquarium beside the resort, run by James Cook University. All wiped out now. 😢

@@TripInAVan A small correction... what I called an "aquarium" was an underwater observatory run by University of Queensland. It looks like it was closed in 2010.

Bowen Is Probably A Better Place To Consider To Live A Lot Of Nice Beaches To Visit As Well Unless You Like The Hustle And Bustle Living That Airlie Beach Has Turned Into Now But If You Want More Of A Laid Back Place Bowen Is The Option 👍

Can’t believe Hook Is resort looked like that. I worked on there in the late 80’s. The top cabins were for staff and the main buildings were on the beach. (Bar, restaurant and gift shop and the observatory round the corner). Very sad.

Just got back from the Whitsundays after 9 nights on a catamaran from Whitsunday Rent a Yacht. Had a great time with our kids too. Great place to visit. I wish I could catch fish like you though. I've taken a boat like yours and camped around the islands too. You guys should do that sometime.

Had Boxing Day lunch at Northerlies Beach Bar & Grill this xmas just gone.

Got their Shuttle bus from the Caravan Park and back... no one had to drive!

Justin how are you finding the 300 in comparison to the tuned 200? I have a very strong tweaked 200 and have a 300 on order but I am struggling to let my v8 go for a smaller v6 /
It’s a good rig mate hey.. it’s hard not to love it, but also hard to not like the 200 better…. They are so different that it’s hard to pick a favourite.. I think you’ll struggle to let the 200 go
