Yeah. As someone who plays ships that actually have AA (De7P), contrary to the meme, AA is certainly a thing that exists and can cause significant problems for carriers. Even multiple carriers. Unless you're fighting a RUSSIAN carrier.

Ships had a chance if they used teamwork, but back then, no one know how to properly counter CVs. Now, it doesn't matter, there is nothing you can do against a CV attack. *sigh*
Even with the OP US fighters, it was possible to outplay oponent using strafing runs. Typically sacrificing one squad in dogfight as bait, it was good trade. And it also often forced game to start as CV duel, that was for me more interesting then current gameplay. My best time in WoWs was in Hiryu, stopped playing CVs after rework
I absolutely agree. I watched a cv bringing a flight of planes into 5 ships overlapping aa, and just strike and leave and several ships were american aa ships
I still remember how a Cleveland could create a no fly zone. CVs back than had a bigger impact on the game than other ships. But you needed some skill to use it. Today a monkey on crack can dominate in a CV
Sorry, but CV's pre rework were much more deadly. Pre rework if a CV wanted you dead, you're dead. Cross dropped and bombed, back to port. The only issue with CV's at the moment is the idiotic regen of planes. Remove that, and CV's are then balanced.

Back when SuperNikoPower was running community events aka Corgi fleet. We were told as Corgis to not outright target other Corgis, so assuming it’s ran similar, the sorry was probably genuine. You are allowed to sink others but if you had other targets in range, to aim for them first. Stats had one target so. . . Makes sense
The 'conflicting objectives' thing reminds me a lot of many of the commendations and achievements in Sea of Thieves. Now, that game is basically a case study on a lot of things, such as marketing vs first impressions or the phenomenon of induced economic inflation, but one notable thing is that it's a game where you're not encouraged to directly fight people. If you've both got stuff to lose, chances are you're both going to want to interact as little as possible with someone while you're doing your own thing. But a lot of achievements and such for the game want you to steal things from others. So what people will do is find someone willing to help, make a tentative agreement, and they both do their own things and then just.. trade the rewards to one another at the end, giving everyone additional rewards for none of the intended risk or effort of actually comitting to instagating a battle with someone (and when you go fight someone you hardly know if they have anything worth fighting for to begin with, anyways). It's a thing many game designers just fail to think about, something that's blatantly apparent in both that game and this one.
In WoW the "Care Bear" label was typically used for PVE servers (because without open world PVP, babies could play on them) rather than individual players in BGs; as in "Oh... you don't understand how hard the game is as a lowbie. You're on a Care Bear server." When it was used on a player, it was server relevant instead of Battleground relevant.

As a carrier player myself, they are bullshit but fun to play as. And a lot of the time, it’s up to the carrier player to make good plays that usually causes the fall of a player or multiple players if one were to be a victim of running into a destroyer’s torpedos instead of a plane’s

As a carrier player I can say it’s frustrating to see what I can do with low skill to a group of high AA targets. I feel like a solution isn’t to remove the carriers abilities to see or do things but to make it easier for players to counter the carrier by focusing AA or maybe buffing AA more on ships that should have it and making AA cruisers hurt carriers…..
In-game Moskva was one of the preliminary designs for what would become the Stalingrad class of battlecruisers. They were never actually built. The recently sunk Moskva was a follow-up to the nuclear-powered Kirov class of cruisers (except without the nuclear power).
When i play CV, i get blasted out of the sky if i fly over 3 good ships.. Gone in a instant..If u play tier 8 cv vs tier 9 and 10- forget about it.. It is different than 50 years ago when u tried it. I'l agree Nakimov has a lingering Soviet Bias
It's not just that AA is crap either. To add insult to injury those fighters you killed will be back in a minute or so , meaning there are no consequences for loosing aircraft. the balance is strong with WG.
Arms race as a game mode you often see play that shows either a large portion, perhaps the majority, do not understand the game mode or simply do not care about playing the objective. Players go wide to both flanks, often chasing a single ship like in this match. This behaviour is not only due to the bounty hunter addition but is typical behaviour in this mode. Bounty hunter takes something that is poor in this game mode and makes it worse. Well done Wargaming.
Ah Jingles, I thought that a "throw" was loosing a match that was all but already won. I noticed that Stat's team was up for 5 seconds at 13:50 but focusing on a CC Streamer with a bounty in a game that was not a steamroll is about the best chance of fame that most of us will experience. I do appreciate Stats (I'm a sub) and always like some nice DM play but is this game really a "throw"?
I assume the Iwami had a disconnect or something and ran into that island. And also: there are definitly worse team mates than this, since (spoiler!): if Stats and the Midway would have been miraculously killed, the afk Iwami would have carried over the time
... I must be playing a different version of this game, or something. Because every time I play as a carrier, mine seems to be made completely of petrol-soaked tissue paper, while the planes rarely survive a single bombing/torpedo run. By five minutes into a game, I'm all out of planes, and spend the rest of the time trying to stay alive long enough to spawn enough planes to make up a flight. So it always confuses me severely when I hear how deadly/invulnerable aircraft carriers are in these clips. Maybe the tier ten ones are, but the tier seven ones certainly aren't!

Nah surfing the map boarder in open water is knowingly cheating, not once but several times. We shouldn't condone this activity. He should've positioned better to avoid that situation or been deleted by the montys salvo.
As a carrier player I can say it’s frustrating to see what I can do with low skill to a group of high AA targets.
I feel like a solution isn’t to remove the carriers abilities to see or do things but to make it easier for players to counter the carrier by focusing AA or maybe buffing AA more on ships that should have it and making AA cruisers hurt carriers…..
used to be that way but CV players cried that it was too hard to dmg enemys so WG made CVs what they are today.
Query: Is the Battleship Moskva the same ship as the deep-water reef Moskva or just same name?
In-game Moskva was one of the preliminary designs for what would become the Stalingrad class of battlecruisers. They were never actually built. The recently sunk Moskva was a follow-up to the nuclear-powered Kirov class of cruisers (except without the nuclear power).
Only the same name
Just the same name, I think. The Moskva deep water reef was built in 1976.
I sure do miss Random acts of Violence. 🙂
JING JING.
😂
*A.I WIZARDS*
YOU LIVE ON MY WORLD.
IT'S TIME YOU STARTED PAYING THE TAX.
😂
When i play CV, i get blasted out of the sky if i fly over 3 good ships.. Gone in a instant..If u play tier 8 cv vs tier 9 and 10- forget about it.. It is different than 50 years ago when u tried it. I'l agree Nakimov has a lingering Soviet Bias
Brilliant!!!
"Not your typical game of throws today."
On a video from a guy in [THROW]
Speaking of CVs , I have seen 2 CVs contest a cap, secodaries blazing. More than once.
Props to the Kremlin player for at least trying to play the objective. If I was him or her I'd have been pretty annoyed with the rest of the team.
So what are the rewards for being a bounty target? Slightly more xp, some kind of currency bonus?
Quite an interesting game you've got here. Are there weather and visibility options? (I think this would be highly entertaining at night or in fog)
Let's go!! Number one
It's not just that AA is crap either. To add insult to injury those fighters you killed will be back in a minute or so , meaning there are no consequences for loosing aircraft. the balance is strong with WG.
I have enjoyed the bounty games
Arms race as a game mode you often see play that shows either a large portion, perhaps the majority, do not understand the game mode or simply do not care about playing the objective. Players go wide to both flanks, often chasing a single ship like in this match. This behaviour is not only due to the bounty hunter addition but is typical behaviour in this mode. Bounty hunter takes something that is poor in this game mode and makes it worse. Well done Wargaming.
o my lord, played World of Warcraft for 17 years and have most of the Achievements. "What a long journey, It was...lol"
Would have liked to see the Kremlin replay. What a legend.
Like watching the Minions chasing a banana.....
And also: there are definitly worse team mates than this, since (spoiler!):
if Stats and the Midway would have been miraculously killed, the afk Iwami would have carried over the time
What’s the build he was using is it posted anywhere? Thx
Probably the Iwami lost internet connection
Map border should automatically turn you around back into the map and start you at zero speed.
They should give bounty targets an extra charge of heals
