i actually started using posca pens ~2 years ago because of your videos with them!!! they’re honestly so fun to work with and this has inspired me to pick them back up for a bit of painting today!!!
My tip to keep paper from pilling: Do a quick first layer. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just don’t go over the same area twice. When it dries, add a second layer.
What a weird coincidence! I JUST bought some posca pens and got them yesterday! This video could not have come at a better time! Thank you ❤💙💜 Edit: To bad I didn't wait to get that discount!
Through an art box, (I believe it was Scrawlrbox) I discovered Posca Pens. I instantly fell in love with them. Then I discovered your videos on how to use them efficiently. 🙂
Very nice collection of tips for people starting out! One thing I've noticed with Posca Pens is that elevation can affect pen performance by a lot! I moved with my pens to a higher elevation and they have more issues with pumping and spilling. I never would have thought of it~
I got myself a pack of poscas one day just cause they were on sale and now they’re my favorite art supply, I mainly used alcohol markers but the versatility of poscas is so fun to me
a little tip for ink/marker/brush tools: store them sideways in like drawers or little bins that let them lay flat. storing them upright might make the ink pool all in the tip and cause a blot or on the bottom and make it hard to get the ink to flow especially if they've been stored for a while. with brushes staying upright residual moisture might pool where the bristles are held together and ruin the brush later. i would suggest keeping pencils/dry media upright if you want to have supplies stored like that.
i orginially got poscas too supplement other art supplies, but they became the tool i find i'm most excited to work with. i'm trying to start making more posca focused art so this was really helpful! thanks!
I took the Posca pen plunge because of you 2 years ago. I was so fascinated by them and you had those super handy videos for beginners and well...I love them now. My kiddo (5yo) got a hold of them and uses them to draw on plastic bottle caps (a currency of hers now lol) and we have used them on rocks. I usually just use mine in my bullet journal (160gsm). Thank you for the new tips!
I buy marker paper (strathmore), it's a much smoother surface and doesn't tear up as easily. The best i've found so far after ALOT of trial and error :)
Thanks a lot for your great tips. I usually apply gesso layer on any papers types. From thiner news paper up to 320gr textured thick paper. Gesso gives me a better surface. No more peels, smooth and less paint consumption.
Hey Kasey--the posca link under "Materials Used" in your description has a lil typo. It's random that I even noticed. Love your videos--congrats on the sponsorship! Lots of YT artists use poscas but it's really rare to see them used in a brand deal. Kudos :)
A further step I do is to sort of ''temper'' that initial layer for even more durability: rubbing vigorously over that that paint layer with a tissue like paper (really cheap toiletpaper works great) until it's shiny and warm. Additionally from protecting the paper from moisture it will also help against reactivating that initial layer to the point where you can even blend on top of it for longer. This ''tempering'' can be repeated as many times as needed/wanted. If done over the final work it will make it more resistant to take damage when touched or by weather conditions. It will also make the colors look deeper and more saturated which can be a cool effect.
On Tip #6 you can use a 0.5mm lead pencil but to go a bit further use the 0.3mm Graphgear lead pencil by Pentel and use *REALLY LIGHT PRESSURE* it takes practice but once you start inking your art it shouldn’t show up EDIT: make sure you’re using H Lead if possible not B Lead because B lead is softer and it’s easier to make darker lines that become impossible to erase
Great video! Also, congrats on getting sponsored by Posca! That seems like a pretty big feat, honestly. I didn't know there were brush-tip Posca Pens until now, so that's pretty neat. I got a set of Poscas a few years ago, but they're pretty much dead now :P. I can easily get some, but I have the brain of a goldfish, so RIP.
I found a posca pen in my mums office room once, I tried it on A4 copy paper and it’s so smooth, it didn’t even go through the paper, or made it soggy, etc
I love posca pens and it’s because of you, I bought my first pack after watching you paint with them. They are not easy to find where I live but oh well, what’s the internet for? Thank you for inspiring us to do art :)
Why for the love of God do posca paint pen colors only come in certain sizes?? You can't buy every color in every size!! Why?? It's frustrating to the max.
i ordered posca markers along with some other things from amazon, it told me they would arrive on may 19th or 20th, i cant wait for them cause i''ve never ha posca markers plus it would spruce up my drawings quite a lot, thanks for the tips as without these i wouldn't know how to do anything shown here!
To use posca in my bullet journal I covered the page in acrylic paint I think I used folk art matte black then used a white posca to draw and write. Surprisingly neither of the pen or paint bleed through the paper and it’s a fairly cheap journal like less than $20.
My most asked question when it comes to Posca pens is "can you give me the money to buy some more please?" 😂 😂 I would 1000% use Poscas all the time and have all of the different nibs in every colour if I could afford to do so. I have to be honest, I avoid using my Posca set as I don't want them to run out because I can't afford to replace them. I am the same with the few Copic markers that I have acquired from various Scrawlrboxes. I am too terrified of using them up to actually use them! 😂
When I use poscas markers and some oil based sharpie markers too sometimes to outline on canvas once it dries it cracks do you have any tips on how to prevent it from happening
I don’t want to undermine the sponsorship, but Give Molotow Markers a try. They are the exact same as Posca but you can refill them and mix your own colours. They even sell empty pens for this.
Please can you tell me which posca color is the most opaque? i got this 2 meter painting and it need a ton of line works, i mean its “wiremesh” paintings, i cant just re do the line 3 times bcs im tight on schedule (unless i have sacrifice 2 days of sleep)
I would LOVE know how to unclog the PC-1MR that i was inky able to use once before it clogged. It is full and won’t come out the nib but the outside. I have tried soaking it warm water to no avail. 😭
I find the posca craze of the past few years funny because my teacher used to use the fat ones for wall displays in 1994/1995. So to me it's like retro tech revival.
What's your favorite surface to use POSCA on? I'm starting to feel experimental!
rocks :)
wood is really nice! though i think i remember you already did that once
I've used them on a melamine tray, wood, paper, card and my son's tshirt! Just don't forget to iron afterwards 🧡
one of my favorite things to do with poscas is draw on my walls :) just little doodles are really fun
Glass definitely
i actually started using posca pens ~2 years ago because of your videos with them!!! they’re honestly so fun to work with and this has inspired me to pick them back up for a bit of painting today!!!
Ahhh, that’s so cool! I’m glad you are enjoying them as much as I do!
@@KaseyTheGolden i think I’ll just have to use discount code kaseygolden to buy more 😳
Let’s take the time to congratulate Kasey on getting this sponsorship!
Aw, thanks!!! ☺️
Posca's ambassador!
Yea
@@KaseyTheGolden you are the best there is no way they wouldn’t sponsor you
she even got a discount code she is the BEST!!!!!
My tip to keep paper from pilling: Do a quick first layer. It doesn’t have to be perfect, just don’t go over the same area twice. When it dries, add a second layer.
Thick & smooth paper with a thin layer of Mr Super Clear works really well for Poscas
Smooth is best for pilling, but personally I can’t resist textured paper and push through! Haha.
What a weird coincidence! I JUST bought some posca pens and got them yesterday! This video could not have come at a better time! Thank you ❤💙💜

Yup, storage is something I cover in one of my other POSCA tip videos. It’s not really ever asked so it didn’t make the cut in this one. :P
Went to the site and this video was right there on the front page. So cool!
This is an amazing sponsorship to get and also a very helpful video for someone with little experience using POSCAs, thank you!
I’m glad it was helpful!
i orginially got poscas too supplement other art supplies, but they became the tool i find i'm most excited to work with. i'm trying to start making more posca focused art so this was really helpful! thanks!
A (kinda) sequel from the last video....Kasey....you are THE BEST artist TH-camr! So inspiring 💖💖💖 (I know there were malfunctions tho😅😁)
Aw, thank youuuuuu!! 🥺

Thanks for sharing these tips, I received a set of posca pens for Christmas and have been itching to draw on wood with them.
Question: What do you do about paint cracking? How do you prevent it?
Great video. So clear, so concise, so well-edited.

When this first was posted it was on private. I'm glad it is working now and I'm excited to watch. Thank you
Also for people in Australia, (like me :D)
The best place I recommend getting *cheaper* POSCAs would be OfficeWorks :)))
Yes! Spread that good word! I get a lot of questions about where to buy them in other countries and I just… can’t know that information?!
I revived an old pair of white Keds loafers with Poscas. Question: what is the best way to store them? Is horizontal in a drawer okay?
Hey Kasey--the posca link under "Materials Used" in your description has a lil typo. It's random that I even noticed.

Omg I just got my posca pens yesterday and now you are posting this!? Coincidence? I think not. Some benevolent higher beigns are on my side.
Oooohhhhh!!! Have fun!!!
You're the reason I bought my first posca pens and i did these amazing pillowcases for my familyyyy :) thaaaanks

Thank you!!!! Your video cleared up some issues I was having with these pens when I do my rock painting...now I know what to do to fix it :)
No one: ...

Can i put the posca pen over dry acrylic paint?

Thanks Kasey! I’ve been trying to look and use posca pens and all these tips help a lot!
Hey tysm now I can get them have a good lifetime

Using a Frixion pen for your sketch is genius!
kasey getting a sponsorship to tell people commonsense things! love it! get that money girl!
I use Poscas on paper just to give some final touches to my pencil coloring... But I loooove them 🥰
They’re great for adding final details!!
The sponsorship!!! Yess!!!!
Right?! 🥺
I watch your videos just for your art. This was great info for my Poscas thought. You are so much fun to watch!!!! Ghost cat is inspiring. Tx
OKAYYY POSCA SPONSORSHIP! Congrats Casey! 🙂
Wow, congratulations on this sponsorship! Great video, now I'm pumped to try the Poscas I just bought! 😎
Why for the love of God do posca paint pen colors only come in certain sizes?? You can't buy every color in every size!! Why?? It's frustrating to the max.
Kasey made me buy them! I love love love your style in posca!

Let’s gooooo, another video about POSCAs! 🔥
It’s been a while, eh?!
this was a dream sponsorship! i started using poscas because of you :)
I never thought I'd be excited to watch a video about the sponsored product, but I just got my first Posca & I'm excited to use them.
This is the best bday video for me because I just got poscas for my bday! Brush ones, too!
Maybe this is a dumb question, but how do you know there’s still paint in a posca pen? How can you tell whether or not it’s just dry or totally empty?
Posca finally realized they needed to sponsor Kasey! Wooo!
Just got my first pack of posca markers for Christmas, this should be useful!
I just bought poscas AND you posted this??? Time for posca art.
Very helpful thank you!
Please make more videos like this… 😁
I saw this video dissappear and I was confused. Lol.
😶🌫️
Thank you so much!!!!! This video is great 👏🏾👏🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾

Casey!! Please personalize your switch with posca pens
I'm moving to USA. So this is great
i love your posca and crayons video!
I just opened up a pack of posca pens for the first time and I'm exhausted from breaking them in lol. These tips were very helpful, thank you!
I am also a Artist that works with posca pens and i learned a lot with this viedeo !
I love posca pens, I use them kind of like oil pastels (smearing with fingers)
Is this a sequel to the one you posted earlier? Just saw it 🥰
I had to edit a portion and reupload… 😅
Getting sponsored by posca, what a dream 😍😍😍
dang it Kasey, now i wanna paint
Watching the evolution of the accent through these sequential POSCA videos
I love the “PILLING” look 😂 kacey, random ? But I have to KnoW! Do you know what Drawing Wiff Waffles looks like irl!? I need to know!

Thanks for this

just a few weeks ago i found out that they sell poscas on target's website (there was a coupon for them on the app) so that is good to know :)
Whoa!! That’s convenient!
I went to the website and saw your video there while I was playing it here ^_^

i need to get my poscas out again, need some bright colours right now
howd u get the colors so solid, when i use em, they tend to streak, and theyre brand new!
Between Kasey and Waffles I feel like I'm an art supply expert on supplies I've never used 😂😂 (I'm just a hobbyist that was a half joke)
I mean of course they should sponser you! I know I'm not the only one who purchased them because of your videos haha
That’s so cool!!!
Great video
What's the second best story you should probably get them from
I would love to buy refills for POSCA pens! Maybe in future...
Michaels works too!
Very helpful, thanks!💕
If u have Joann’s near u they have like ever type of posca markers even graffiti supply’s
I was so happy to see you could clean then because my white has pink on it😂😂😂
I got my posca pens from Asda in uk
Now I Know To Not Press Down Hard 😀👍🏾
I've got a dried out brush tip posca and it's one of the ones that you can't remove the tip of, so I'm not sure what to do haha !
I find the posca craze of the past few years funny because my teacher used to use the fat ones for wall displays in 1994/1995. So to me it's like retro tech revival.
Definitely!
I think i have every colour and metallic i could find in 3mm and 1mcr. Would love to get them all in the other sizes but i have no space.
wait but now i need a “Decorating Joycons with Posca Pens” video
