That idle 💯. Pulls nice. Gear ratios seem very long. The only short ratio gearbox is the 5 speed ffz gearbox from the life, velocity, citi roxes basically all the new spec golf's have it. Makes the car feel like lekker nippy. But great short video 👌
any reason for the 4 speed? great vid keep them comming, im building a 2 litre ADY with twin dellorto 40, not sure which cam to use, for now stock but eventually 276 or 288 not sure yet, i like high rpm power but also low torque, which one would you say is the best all around
Hi zariel. 4 speed gearbox my opinion!!! Gear ratios is faster then 5 speed gearbox. There I can't help you. 276 low end torque is great. But the 288 high revs is just amazing. Hope my comment was helpful

howsit Ritchie , I'm building a 2.0 L 8v fuel injected. I'm still making a decision on what cam to run, I want to drive the car as my daily but also have some power and some fun pulls so i was thinking of either a 276 or 288 but i heard about a 282 cam which should be between the 276 and 288, what's your advice?
Hi kivan. Go with 282 going to get better pulls on car. 276 is a good cam but doesn't have that power and torque that you want. And 288 cam I have one fuel is a bit heavy. Thanks for your comment and support 👍
Hi rydall. 2.0L sub assembly was 5000) skimmed 2mm off cylinder head to get more compression from 10.1 to 12.1 3000) 288 cam cost me 1500) branches was second hand 1000) 32/36 weber carburetor was 6000). I did make a video on budget build cost if you want to see that video. Thanks for your comment and support
Nice content man. I was thinking of going efi myself...but you made me think twice...so its just a Cam, Weber Carb, Branch n free flow?? I want my 1.8 carb engine to have more power, but economical and remain reliable too...
Hi there. I like your comment. But sidedrafts makes it heavy on fuel. Still going to keep as a daily driver. Check out my new video busy working on it. Thanks for your comment 👍
It is indeed fast too a normal fuel injection citi golf stands no chance at all but mine is more faster and more powerful than this because I'm using a 38 weber on my 1.8 8v citi golf
Hi there. I like the 38 weber fuel is too heavy too use as a daily, maybe I can be wrong? Busy with new set up go see my latest video. Thanks for your comment.
Sure as hell it's a good thing! Mk4 gti is 11s and it's FI, you do the math I'm working on a similar build. You need that 2L gear box in order to get better ratios n speed. Your current box is lazy. Otherwise it's perfect 👌. Thanks for documenting this I'll follow the steps. 1.8t will not get rid of you that easy 😂

@@ritchiesridemk1vwbuild853 thank you very much, I found your videos about the cams! Very helpful, cheers from Belgium 🇧🇪
272,276 or 288 it depends where do you want power band. Long block will perform better

Hi Jon B. Yes that's it 288 cam 32/36 weber and branch. Just remember with a 4 speed box. Yes it's reliable trust me. And you gain power and torque,
Not bad
Your box has some long legs.... Maybe look for a 5 speed box it will accelerate quicker
Hi Ikram. Motor is coming out busy with new motor. Will take sometime to build but will get there. Thanks for comment.
I approve it. Can you do a 0 to 140
Hi Denver. Yes I can if I find the road I will do a 0/140. Thanks for your comment.
next is side drafts

Did you have to change the jets on the 38 weber?
Hi there. No didn't change any jet sizes on 32/36 weber carburetor.
@@ritchiesridemk1vwbuild853 whats your opinion on bike carbs?
Hi there. Bike carbs have no idea on how powerful they are. Speak to someone else who has done it before. Maybe there is some power.
9s faster than a standard fi
