Hi there. Run the motor in with the 288 cam won't do anything to to motor. Just drive it in slowly don't step on it. Remember you need a vernier pully for that 288 cam.
Why is the 288 heavy on fuel? I'm using mp9 unfortunately I have to remove map sensor to drive since it doesn't want to rev when map sensor is plugged in 😢
Hi sello. Reason 288 cam is heavy on fuel because the cam lobes is bigger so it allows more air and fuel into the motor. If your engine doesn't have low end torque it can also make the 288 work harder to make power.
Hi there. Will buy the 276 cam for a daily drive. Vernier pully is needed when you want a bigger cam. Can buy it from goldwagon. 288 is not ideal for a daily drive. But the choice is yours.

Hi there. You are going to have to tell me do you have a 8v or 16v. If you run 8v just do a 276 cam perfect for daily drive. If jou want more power go with a 288 cam. 16v then you can run 276 inlet valves outlet valves can do a 288 cam.

OK mk3 gti you have to find out if it's a std cam. If so then you won't gain alot of power. Let somebody have a look at the cam they will tell you size of the cam.

I use 264 cam 10.4 valve lift with adjustible vernier pulley on my 95 polo 1.6 single point injection goes very well because there is lots of modifications for more power: sport intake, sport exhaust system, 4-2-1 collector, iridium spark plugs, chip..

With my 1.6i I prefer low end power as my car is not made for top end speed anyway but that little extra pulling power yes that's what I need

I have 276 and 32 weber on my nissan 1400 and it's awesome
I prefer torque over horsepower it's way more fun to have acceleration than top speed

268/276 made more power on my g60 more than 276/276 288/288 and all the other cams like TT Autotech etc

Hi there. Ace motor sports did mine. They are based in germiston. They will be able to set the weber perfectly for you. Look them up on internet.
