Zip ties work great there cheap and easy to use and they come in different sizes and colors 😊

Yes but they don't last through the second season in cold climates.

Thanks for the video. This is exactly what i was looking for. Many have a fixed trellis, but i like the idea that you can store this flat when your not using it and you can move it around the garden for rotating your crops.
I think the only thing I would do difference is I would cut the bottom rail off that attaches to the ground where it would make several spikes along your hog fence to put like 4 inches into the ground. Thanks for the video. Definitely going to try this one out in my garden, happy gardening. Ed.

You could also run a 2x2 board thru the panel openings at the bottom and screw it into the sides of the bed as you did with that center support board. THAT would definitely keep it from blowing down!

You mention how the hog rings made it so much easier. I was thinking about how it made it SAFER by not having twisted wire sticking out. My experience tells me that can cut deep. Thanks for the video.

Just one thing that I would add, is where you cut the panels you are left with a "spike at the opposite end of the next piece. I would use those "spikes" to dig into the ground for more support. Just a thought...

I use the same concept, but if you cut the horizontal bar off, it’ll leave you with a spike every 6” that you can stick in the ground. Works great in soft soils, not to good in harder soils. Keeps you from tying the two ends together, or using steaks.Great video thank you

What a GREAT idea/vid. These trellisses...trellises...trelli...what-ev....are so crazy expensive in the catalogs. Now, I just have to figure out where to get the hog-fencing. If I can't find it, I'll improvise using my 48" tomato cages from Tractor Supply (but, they're not cheap, so I'll do more research). Also, I might just use zip-ties instead of hog-rings for securing the tops.

I made trellises like this year's ago starting my squash patch. It was before everyone knew about cattle panels. Mine were actually used previously for....cattle!
You could have cut a space in the panels for the side of your raised bed. You'd then still have full panels if you need in the future.
Mine looked pretty cool with squash hanging down in the center.
A post on each end with the peaks attached to it will hold it where you want it. 👍

It's a good video, don't get me wrong. But, you don't need hog rings and a tool. I've used zip ties or some cheap galvanized wire (like 20g). You can also get creative with the trellis materials for cheap. eg. I have used cheap welded wire fencing with wooden and bamboo stakes to reinforce the teepee shape. Most cucumbers plants are not heavy even when fully fruiting.

Nice video. Looking for different methods to build a trellis. I like this method a lot. What I like about it you can move it out or to another tailed bed if you need to.
A suggestion on the bottom wire would be to use 4 tent stakes. One on each corner.
I think I'm going to use this one. Also if the hog rings aren't to tight you can fold them together for easier storage.
    Ty for the video.

    G'day mate
I see two easier ways to fix bottom cut the bars
Between base leaving spikes to push into soil or use a couple tent pegs
It may make it quicker and easier just different options
I made permanent one using 50 x 50 poles with heavier wire screwed to post with metal tags
This was for a hedging trellis
Cheers mate hope it helps 🦘🇦🇺👍

Nice video. I don't know what kind of cucumbers you grow, but your miniature trellis would not work for my 30-inch English cucumbers. The vines grow 8-feet tall. I used two 4' x 8' panels, fastened them with metal hose clamps to four 7-foot T-bars. I then overlapped the the two panels, one row of the squares at the top of each panel, secured them with small screw clamps at the top. The end result is an arch that is 4' wide and 7' tall at the highest point. Keeping the 4' space between the two panels to the height to 7' provides good circulation. I grow a row of lettuce in between the cucumbers and have free access to it. I can also get to my full-sized cucumbers very easily from the inside of the arch. I built the same arch trellis for my indeterminate tomatoes.
