This video made me realise how tight James & Kirk still are on guitars after all these years.
Vishal Sheth not too disagree with you, but we should also consider that Metal Allegiance is performing a cover song. James and Kirk would naturally perform it better, since it's their song.
Meanwhile, Lars is still trying to figure out how to play their songs.
Eduardo Teodoro No doubt, but the main riff is just a gallop pattern and nothing else. If they messed up notes that is fine, but this is purely about right hand technique. Lars has been doing okay lately tbh.

It's really cool that Cliff Burtons Dad is sitting there after all of these years (he's gotta be pushing 90) Metallica has never even had him UP on STAGE with them LOL. Pretty shitty thought, Phil Demmel sounded good, and Portnoy. But wow Skolnick was sloppy as hell. And I'm just tired of hearing Marks vocals on everything. GET CHUCK!!!

Fun fact for you all. Mark menghi is actually playing cliffs bass that he used on master of puppets. Cliffs dad actually came in and said I want mark to play it. And at first Mark thought he was being fucked with it. And saw cliffs dad with a case and said I want you to play this. And the whole time he was playing he was actually crying. I know this because mark posted this the day cliffs dad passed away. I can only imagine how honored he was to play cliffs bass.

Ppl. It's not calling being sloppy, it's called having too much gain especially when you have two guitarist layering guitars. You don't need that much gain when you're playing the same riff with two guitars. It will sound full and big nonetheless. Adding gain just smushes things up like it did here. They're settings their amps as if they were alone on stage. If you ever notice metallica don't play with alot of gain live. That's because the more guitars you have on stage, the less gain you need to fill the sound spectre.

To be fair, I play guitar(not nearly as well as most people who post videos) and while I’m able to play most Metallica songs well enough to please myself, I’ve been trying to learn this riff for ten years and still can’t pull it off.
That said, I thought they put a nice spin on their version.
