I will never buy another Schrade. We were heading to Iraq in 2003, needed a blade as we were short on supplies at the beginning of the war. Bought a Schrade knife, with a serrated edge. Long story short, it broke, and when I got home I contacted them and was denied any solution. I have become a big fan of the WTG knives. High quality, great prices, and reliable.
@@preparedmind101 I'm sure they are doing better. It's a tough pill for me to swallow. I spent a good amount of money for the time, and was not making much back then. Your JXV is in my collection, and I'm glad we have channels like yours now, and we don't have to gamble like that anymore.
Always had good luck with Old Timers (60s-70s). Lasted for years. Had to get rid of my bucks and old timers in the 80s (divorce). I have a couple of fixed blade Schrades that are 1095. They are thick blades but I’m disabled now so I can’t get out and work em.
@@preparedmind101never thought I'd see you defending a company that screwed you so hard nobody's forgotten about that bs jess x you dropped with them. Can't believe you didn't keep one bark river. You're the one that got me hooked on them. And your first run Anaconda? Damn bro. Gotta do what you gotta do I guess.
*13:34** Skinning an Elephant, cutting up Whale meat, maybe to push plane?* (ya, no thanks) *Love that "Warhammer"(**12:12**) the "Hollow King"(**18:38**) and many of those smaller blades like this (**21:43**) sturdy with a good grip."stuff in that size" to accompany the bigger blades* *Thanks for what you do.* 👍
Instant like from me. The original video is still a go-to when I'm looking at getting another fixed blade, and this vid will be another classic. Thanks Chris!
You had some great content back in the day. I loved all your Cold Steel videos when Lynn was in charge. What happened to your Becker knives ? The Jessica? Be well Chris.
Honestly Chris, I appreciate your Character and your honest opinions on details. What I had found a love for on your channel are Full-Bellied blades. Currently, these blade shapes are my main focus/biggest love in Knives currently (JX4 Design being my favorite... But, do not own 😅). I would say between the Jessmuk-C and that TOPS modified knife you own win my favorite vote. I guess I missed your FOBOS Alaris or as you said- may have gave it away or sold it. That would also be on my top favorite of your current bag. Take care Chris and I am always looking forward to your new content.
There was an LTWK in there. Nothing is "beloved"... You can't be too attached to stuff. Besides... Remember when I came back and said it has been a rough couple years? Sometimes you gotta sell stuff to get by.
All of my big choppers and rough use knives are carbon steel, ymmv. Some of my smaller knives are stainless, I have a couple blades in elmax I like. Good video. :) .
The end of this video broke my heart more than I thought it would 😅 thinking back ten years ago to 15 year old me, binging you, Gideon's tactical, Tac from Tactical, and Alfie aesthetics, etc. My, how things have changed.
I love the bench blade. Right now I'm use a warthog kbar. And a buck 110 limited in canvas scale s Miss my okc rack ranger leather scout carry looking to pick up v42 and a okc 499. Agen
2013, yikes I’ve been watching your channel that long. That Weird Work Tuff knife to me looks like a trick meat cleaver. The Condor looks like a Joe Flowers or one of his friends design.
I mean, if you're giving out knives and have a spare high quality steel Jess X, lemme know, lol. I love a lot of what you pulled out here, but the only machete I actually hung onto is a simple 18" Tramontina. Maybe you can give us a look at the axes/hawks that you still have, if any.
Awesome video! We would love to collaborate on some ham radio information for your viewers. It is THE BEST comms option for a disaster situation, a good handheld is an essential piece of kit! 📻
6:55 I genuinely don’t know what you said here, or how to spell it, but I am actually interested in this to buy this Christmas. I don’t know why it reminds me of a orcish sword from Skyrim. It looks a bit heavy though
Chris. I just went through some terrible shit in my life... would you make me one of those crystal necklaces?.... I will gladly pay you. I think that the positive vibes from it and you could help me.
Why more than other channel do people long for the old days of PM101. Myself included. I think your channel in particular hooked a lot of people into this genre of TH-cam. The rat pack of survival channels were: PM 101, Black scout survival, Living Survival, Survival on purpose, Gideons tactical, Everyday tactical vids and of course Tac himself. GT and PM101 are the only channels I still watch.
on the subject of mid sized blades, you kinda hit the nail on the head. Its easier to just carry a big blade and either a smaller blade or folder vs trying to have an all in one knife that does everything OK but nothing really well. Furthermore, when you carry something like a cold steel srk, its going to do almost everything you could possibly need from a knife for a bargain price and then you would just want a saw, axe or machete to do that larger heavier work so you could have very good versions of a big and little tool for the same price if not cheaper than one mid sized blade that is too big for some stuff, too heavy for some stuff, but too small and light for other things
Brings back memories of when I found your channel 10 years ago. That was a fun video.

Yeah... That was like 20 years and two managing companies ago. Just sayin'

Not one Bark River??? I'm surprised!
Good collection and vidio Chris
We all love and support you man!
Chris, thanks for keeping things rolling. Love your vids, and lerspective.
I smiled when you pulled out jess x.

Yup, been giving stuff to young deputies in the agency
nice one chris - nothing like a nice "ramble" :) ... everything changes - its the only constant.
HEY Chris, are you going to make another run of Jx's smalls?

Great to see another episode of BBO'Bs! Thanks Chris!
Gotta admit I'm shocked no original Jessmock or a bush bat , those are two I have I know I'd never get rid of .
Chris, where or how do you sell your knives? I’m looking for the best way to get rid of some of mine.
1. Blade. Nice grips
G'day Chris, yep very cool and diverse bunch there mate. Sure things change, but I was surprised by the absence of a BK-9. Cheers Duke.
Has it been 10 years where does the time go very surprised no Blind horse Battle horse LT Wright Bark river or your beloved dark timber knives ?

Holy crap: you still have the Preserverance? So glad to see you kept it. :)
SOG Seal Team Elite was my first fixed blade back when it came out. Nowadays i love my Esse 6. Im more of a folder guy, Cold Steel and Spyderco.
Good to have blades
Great limiting factor. If you put all your blade’s in a backpack...stand up then fall over...you’ve got to many blades...lol
Those were the days ❤
Love my Jess X Omega, killer blade!!! Love to get my hands on that wtk grizzly!!!😮
I was lucky enough to get two OG Jess-Xs when they first came out!
Hello guys, ive been wondering what survival knife I should buy the schrade Schf9 or the newer version schrader reckon. Thanks
Big Bad Blades. Lets listen to "Ten Years After". Cheers mate.!

Last time I just had Urban Prepper do it for me because I don't understand any of it.

Why did you get rid of all your barky's?
When did you make peace with schrade?
That Work Tough gear ..thats a Awesome Knife I want that can you put in a link because I will get that Knife
Two more 😅.
You’re correct TH-cam was better back then. But over time all types of media degrades to crap.
Can’t believe there is no BK9 there. You got me hooked on Becker.
Do you still have the Brakimo?
Did you see one?
With all your years experience using and designing knives, what is your opinion of which knife steel is your favorite?
Hello from SC

Did BARK RIVER do something to tick everybody off or something?
If you ever want to sell one of your original Jessica' X saber grinds knives I would definitely be interested if you still have a few laying around
WHY NO BARK RIVER BLADES?
YOU USED TO HAVE ALL THE BARKY'S......
Still love the intro man….

TH-cam is throttling the hell out of knife channels right now for some reason just like they do gun channels
youtube just isnt the same. 10 years ago it was so much better.
what, no bk7 or bk9 ?? i miss them.. two of the best !!
👏
It’s looking like your taste hasn’t changed a bit in 10 yrs👍👍 Need to change the title of the video to Bag O BIG BLADES 😂

What about Becky?

Did you swipe a grocery cart like a homeless guy to drag them out there??
What if you got any work tough knives in there. 😅
