I've not tried any eyeshadows from Made By Mitchell, but your experience matches those I've seen on yt who tried his Where the Mangoes palette, whose colour story has some similarity to the Sunset palette
It's a real shame as the brand has some fantastic products which made this extra disappointing. I'm not even sure I WANT to try again with it. I might take out the green shade and bin the rest.
I also bought this. Recieved it yesterday and wore the same blue combination you did, with Sandcastles shimmer under eye. And yeah, i don't like the formulas. Mattes were super dry and the shimmers are pretty bad tbh. I love the colour story and design. I'm a sucker for roadtrip themes. And I loved the photo frame palette. But I wish I'd seen a real review first. Its my only mbm palette for reference. I love the glitter lipgloss i bought with it, tiny consolation 😅
I really hope more people see this video as a warning. I don't know if all the reviews on tiktok are just people jumping on the bandwagon. It's almost as though they are so blinded by the hype they just feed into it. We can't be the only people who disliked the palette. Where are the average to poor reviews on tiktok?
My opinion of the large space cowboy palette is very much the same. I don't care for mattes in general, so I managed them but the shimmers didn't pop, they were very much like toppers and I would need to have a deep matte eyeshadow base to make it work. If I need a subtle wash of shimmer, it's good but who am I kidding, I need my shimmer to be seen from the sky lol. I'm happy that I managed to snag the palette for free, because I did cancel my order, but it's just not a palette I'm itching to use.
I did consider the Space Cowboy palette but it's one of the tiktok purchases I actually managed to talk myself out of. Lesson learned - avoid Made by Mitchell eyeshadow palettes!
I managed to get something that looks good from afar but it was tricky getting there. I don't have to work that hard with any other palettes I have, they're all so easy. I even feel bad "complaining" about the drier shades in Haunted House as they're still leagues above this.

I’ve never felt gravitated towards this brand and this solidifies it
To be fair to Mitchell, the brand has a number of other stand out products. I think he should leave palettes alone though 😒
