Cannot wait to see that restoration. I have a iPod Classic 7th Generation, myself. So I may need to learn how to restore it as the hard drive on mine is starting to fail. Please do the restoration video.
Robert Landrum you should do the Sd card mod there’s an adapter you can buy that slots on to the hard drive port in the iPod which will then allow you to use a micro sd card. It can speed the iPod up drastically and you can expand your storage capacity
The newest iPod Classic is the 6th gen.

My Ipod 80g stays in my car. This is Texas, the car gets very hot in the summer with the Windows up. That's about 12 years and still kicking like new.
Same! I have the U2 one that came out like in 2007 I think? It stays in my car all day everyday and it still works! I have over 5000 songs in that classic ipod! I love it! 🙌

I have an early iPod nano. Bought it from a thrift store back in 2010. It fell off my pocket while I was in my yard and buried itself in the snow. I presumed it was missing but found it 3 months later after the snow melted. I’ve also accidentally washed it 3x in the washing machine. It still works even today.

I revived a ipod 2nd generation that I found in a destroyed car. I was surprised the touch pad still worked.
10 likes and I will prove it. I still have FireWire and also found the FireWire charger.
Edit : thanks for the likes! I didn’t decide to record when I found this iPod because I didn’t know about TH-cam but I will now record the video! I will make a second edit when I have the video up!

I still have this beast of a tech piece all working and in good condition. Obviously it's battery has worn off and doesn't lasts more than 30 mins but else it's perfect. And i use it to transfer data when i don't have my HDD or anything and it's still great.

If you want to remove the corrosion on the silver ipod face, try a metal polish like brasso, I used that for mine as well as on the back casing and it came up great

I came across your channel thanks to this video, i like to rescue and repair electronics! So much waste... I actually watched this from a 32" FHD LCD tossed near my place. I found an exploded filter capacitor on PSU and dead SPI flash on main board, replaced them and I ended with a "new" TV in a 8€ budget ;) (just for flash ic + shipment, as the capacitor was from the box of parts i salvage from other electronics)
