I'm impressed by the dad. He told Hweeyi to go do her own thing for 5 years first. Not only that gave her time to pursue what she wanted, but it also gave her the chance to solidify her intention of taking over the business. To be really sure, you know. Because hawker businesses require commitment more than anything else. That's some good parenting right there. Wishing Botak Porridge all the success!
A humble, simple but beautiful story. What more can we wish for, a loving family, loving parents, and a grateful, filial daughter, and a supportive partner.
Such an inspiring story! As a small business owner selling porridge myself, I can truly appreciate the hard work, passion, and dedication it takes to run a family hawker business. Your journey motivates me to keep pushing forward and reminds me of the importance of preserving our food traditions. Wishing you continued success!
I tried the first time and is the only food i will think of when i need someone to packet for me at their tampines hub branch. Not only the porridge, the you tiao was very crunchy and mix with the porridge is heaven, unlike some you tiao, was like eating rubber band, their tampines staff was very friendly polite to serve, guess also the mum and dad is there too as is their first branch, interestingly I just have one yesterday, the standard still there after the first time I tried which was few years back
What a blessing she is to her parents; her guy is such a source of support too. I hope Hwee Yi will be fulfilled and happy in all that she does in life. Must check out Botak Porridge!
And this is why OGS wins the Pinwheels Awards!!! Keep up the Great Work!!! With Love!! ❤❤❤ Oh btw, has it occurred to u guys to revisit all the short video subjects u guys did in the beginning n expand on them? That would be great. 😊
Happiness and joy in what you do is the most important. Sure there are hard times and dry times. Can think of making new plans, alternate ideas, or innovation to spruce things up. Wishing you guys all the best in life.
My family's fav porridge in tampines hub. Meatball porridge With egg and century egg cost about 4 bucks with fairprice app. Very affordable. Reminds me of my auntie stall selling caipng serving affordable food to telok blangla crescent until they retired. God bless your family. Didn't know such a touching story behind it.. ❤
Well paid but stressful job as a bodyguard. Anyway usually bodyguard need to be changed after a period of time. She retired very young lucky never ended up as a security officer 😂😂😂😂
Although supposedly they are speaking English, their thick Singaporean accent is extremely difficult for me to understand with my American English. I had to replay like 5 times with the cc on to understand what they said.
Most of it was a mixture of English, Singlish (creole) and Mandarin. This video was made for Singaporeans, not Americans. In other words, your comment isn’t really relevant, and “thick” accents are what you have to expect and suck up if you choose to watch a video from another country. e.g., I wouldn’t comment “their thick Scottish accent is extremely difficult for me to understand with my Singaporean English” under a Scottish video made for Scottish people.
Is not easy to work for sme. If u wan a loyal staff. You need find way to retain them. I worked for a local sme. Omg. V toxic environment with an obnoxious manager who think highly of himself n disregard other.
lol lure youngters to do tough hawker. food business is super tough, not even in Singapore. stay away, my store F&B closed in just 6 months. unless it is money laundering business
