Nothing you can do that will make the ZR1 sound as good as your Z06, your Z06 has some fantastic mods as well. I am sure you can do most of them to the ZR1 though. A black ZR1 will not look much different from your black Z06. Tough choice, and I am faced with it also. I definitely don't think it's worth 75k or 100k more than a Z06. Best of luck in your decision.
Justin my opinion keep the C8 Z06 and continue to enjoy the C7 ZR1. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to drive and make videos of the C8 ZR1 in the future.
Love the car CR one, but I don’t know what you’re gonna be able to do with the thousand 64 I’ve got a ZL six C7 and I love mine and I know I can probably do a pump or two more horsepower. I just can’t see 1064.
I am a horsepower guy as much as anyone. I have a C7 Z06 and a C8 Z06 and, as much as I would want the new ZR1, I just don't see anyway I could use that much power. Now, if they make a limited run for only one year, you could possibly* look at is as a bit of an investment. But if they do not cap the production I would put the money (difference between C8 Z06 and C8 ZR1) into the market. Just my $.02.
There IS a ZR1 in YOUR future. Things to consider when contemplating a ZR1………. 1) Cost. Sure, Chevy will increase the price, but my money says they’ll keep the base price below $190,000 on the coupe model. 2) We know they’re also going to sell ZR1 convertibles. Those models will be north of $200,000. Keeping a twin turbo engine cool in a convertible will require extra “engineering”. 3) Will they have three separate LZ versions as in 1,2 and 3LZ. Most likely, yes. They’ve got lots of market research, consumer feedback and selling statistics from dealer and customer-direct C8 orders starting in 2019 to present. Their profits soar with options. On C8 Z06s look at what it costs to add a Z07 package. 4) How many they’ll build WILL be limited, for sure. Frustrations with dealer markups will infuriate buyers, but, since ZR1 owners will be a the smallest C8 “club” since this designation was introduced guarantees they’ll all be sold. The ZR1 roadmap has already been pre-determined. Prices, models, packages and options and total that will be sold……..It’s theirs to know and ours to find out.
Very true, Larry. The only thing we don't really know yet is official pricing. We can look at what Chevy has done in the past to get a general idea of how they'll handle this one as well but that BIG unknown is price.
Just like u said, depends on the ZR1 price if its doable SELLLLL THE ZO6 ,NO DOUGHT, ZR1 JUST A SPECIAL MODEL . starting from a c4,c6 and you have a manual c7 zr1 🤤 👍, Have to keep the c7 zr1, no more manuals, makes it even more special.. Go for it, JUST DO IT if its affordable..
Just a reminder guys. ETS with a built C8 LT2 and one of their TWIN TURBO SYSTEMS has gone 8.64 @ 170 MPH!!!! Being that 98% of the public can't tell what year a C8 is, right now you can buy a 2020 with UNDER 10,000 MILES on it and a BUILT LT2 and twin system even with professional installation should cost around $60,000 for the car and you have a great looking and RUNNING Corvette for under/over $120,000!!!! Figure upgraded trans and running gear for another $10K and you have a car that I seriously doubt a ZR1 could stand up to!!! I wonder what enterprising Corvette reseller will start to producing these USED C8 HYPERCARS with some custom rebadging and options and produce cars that will be recognized like the MOTION OR YENKO aftermarket cars with all the LEGENDARY PERFORMANCE, and perhaps the resale value that will be recognized in years to come!
Hello, I left a comment on another video where you did a review of Xpel I would deeply appreciate if you took a look at my comment I had some questions and was looking for tips from you since you have knowledge about this subject. Thank you!
You can twin turbo a Z06 and end up with 1064 ponies or even more, but it’s still not going to have all the other ZR1 goodies. The Lt7 is beefier as is the dct and not to mention all the other extras like added vents and cooling parts. Similarly to the 2019 C7 Z06 vs the C7 ZR1.
I would have to say depending on the cost of the ZR1 which if i were to guess will be about $200-230 depending on the options! Now depending on wether your dealer will mark it up which im sure they will probably at least $20K your looking at a car that will be about $250-260 after taxes OTD! So you would be looking at another $110-120K after you sold your Z06! Ask yourself if thats worth about a less than half a second quicker 0-60 & 1/4 mile time! forget about the top speed because your will never achieve it unless your in Montana or the salt flats! In my opinion its not worth it! I am saving for a Z06 and hoping to get one next year! Go Luck brother with your choice!

I love the C8 ZO6! If I could afford it, I'd trade for a ZR1. If a loaded ZO6 is near 200k, I think the top ZR1 will exceed 230k. Guess I'll suffer with the highest HP normally aspirated V8🤣
Are you willing to pay for the 50 to 100k markup and wait a couple of years? If the answer is yes then sell the Z06. If not then just develope what you have. Put twin turbos on it or supercharge it if someone comes up with a design for it. Did you change the exhast on your z06? If not, check out valvetronic exhaust it sounds amazing. There are a couple of videos on youtube showing their capabilities.
Keep the Z06. With a ZR1, what can you realistically do with another 400+ HP on the street, besides bragging rights? Your Z06 is perfect for the street or track, besides, expect the ZR1 to start at almost 200K.
The base ZO6 costs for 25' 114.7K....I'm going to guess a 35% hike on that for a Base ZR1. Brining it in at 155k. Thats a Base, Coupe 1 ZR. Now the effect the ZR1 will have on the ZO6 will noticeable. The ZO6 will be easier to get and MSRP pricing will be the norm or a bit less.
tough call bud. 1st world problems for sure! prob would sell the Z06 as well if I wanted the new ZR1, but gonna have to wait a long time for it. frig it keep the Z06 and rob a bank for the new one!
Never sell your C8 Z06. There won’t be another NA engine like it - ever. I foresee depreciation in the C7 ZR1 once the C8 ZR1 comes out, but it’s a manual so it’s special.
Great video man, appreciate the content! Did you test the heat in the back trunk? I just got my Z and noticed the back gets hot and has a gas smell to it. Is that normal? Thanks again, love this car so far, still in the break in period!
Dude, I would sell the C7 ZR1 and buy a C8 ZR1. I would not let go of the C8 Z06, because it may very well be that last naturally aspirated engine Corvette.
Justin the ZR1 is your destiny and you only live once. Remember we got your back. I’ll never get ZR1 but I’m happy to help a buddy get one! Only you have to let me drive it some day!

The question you should be asking is will you ever be able to afford the $100K over sticker that it will be going for or if you will ever get an allocation. You talk like you’re just going to walk into a Dealership and write a check and drive it off the showroom floor. Or get an instant allocation. 🤣🤣😂 Good Luck! Oh then what happens when the Zora comes out with almost 1300 HP.
Yes because you already got the C7 which is a legend why not have a C8 ZR1 but it's up to you bro I just can't wait to see it in person on the roads good luck chief
I think you'd love the sound. I just re-watched Emelia with her twin turbo Z06 and it IS slightly quieter but the addition of the twin turbo sound, is awesome. The revs won't be as high in the ZR1, but the raw power will be amazing. I love them both. I'd do the ZR1 if I were you. it'll be a while until you can even get one anyway so enjoy what you have. Justin, your Z06 is gorgeous! If it was me and I had what you have, I would probably just wait a little bit to make sure the ZR1 doesn’t have any major problems and allow time for the markups to drop. It’s too bad you can’t have all three cars 😊
My guess is a fully loaded C8 ZR1 3LZ with ZKT package and all the carbon fiber will be around 250k plus 100k mark up. All Corvettes should be black but I really like Hysteria purple. Good Luck!

However, the Horsepower Numbers we have today, some Soccer Moms in their coupes would give some 1970 Big Block a Good Run and maybe beat them!
I think your # will be under $220K, but when does this chase stop. What happens when the Zora comes out. After that the C9. I love my high revving C8 ZO6. I'm staying put. Good luck which ever road you take, see ya at Carisle!
I think the Z06 is already good because it’s more practical and the ZR1 doesn’t have a front trunk.
Agreed.
@@ETHAN_YANG_Main it's a sports car, front fronk realllllly . 😆..u have some space in the back for somethings but if you looking for space then get a SUV ,Minnie van, TRACK HAWK, ETC..BUT the zr1 is an amazing car forget the front space..A must have in a car garage..
I would probably stick with the Z06. The ZR1 will b so much faster but I can’t resist the sound and redline of the Z06.
Those red head lights, What happens when you need the high beams? Is this a bright clear light or bright enough to see clearly in the dark?
When do you think the pricing will be up?
I would imagine very soon.
I absolutely love my C8 Z, but this is a no brainer in my opinion. If you can swing it, absolutely get the ZR1 🔥🔥🙌. I know I’m on a list for one but who knows when my number would be called.
You should do what your heart tells you to. Question does your quick jack fit your Z06 and what size is it? 🙏🏾 thanks nosale
Just watched your QJ video from sometime ago 5000TL GLAD I SUBSCRIBER 😅
Nothing you can do that will make the ZR1 sound as good as your Z06, your Z06 has some fantastic mods as well. I am sure you can do most of them to the ZR1 though. A black ZR1 will not look much different from your black Z06. Tough choice, and I am faced with it also. I definitely don't think it's worth 75k or 100k more than a Z06. Best of luck in your decision.
Justin my opinion keep the C8 Z06 and continue to enjoy the C7 ZR1. You’ll have plenty of opportunities to drive and make videos of the C8 ZR1 in the future.
True!
I bought my 1992 ZR-1 new in 1992, I still have it. I could write a book on the 3 years it took to get it.
Love the car CR one, but I don’t know what you’re gonna be able to do with the thousand 64 I’ve got a ZL six C7 and I love mine and I know I can probably do a pump or two more horsepower. I just can’t see 1064.
Do you have a place to get on the list for the ZR1 ?
I am a horsepower guy as much as anyone. I have a C7 Z06 and a C8 Z06 and, as much as I would want the new ZR1, I just don't see anyway I could use that much power. Now, if they make a limited run for only one year, you could possibly* look at is as a bit of an investment. But if they do not cap the production I would put the money (difference between C8 Z06 and C8 ZR1) into the market. Just my $.02.
Justin, two ZR-1's. If you can swing it.....Horsepower Obsessed!
💯
Other than storage the fricken beast needs to go to enthusiasts like yourself as folks like me will benefit from the experience.
Do you still own the C6 Z06?
If so, I hope you keep it..
@@HorsePowerObsessed My instincts tell me the ZR1, base coupe models will be priced in the high $180s.
@larryanthony1861 I’m thinking a bit higher but I hope you’re right!!
If you can afford it, keep your '19 ZR1 and trade in your C8ZO6! And keep practicing your Save the Wave 🙋♂
that’s the big IF!
Keeping my Z-06! Keep the Z!👍
That’s a big IF! But otherwise I agree!!
Thank you!
I will check it out!
@@HorsePowerObsessed thanks!!!
@@HorsePowerObsessed hello! I left one more comment pls if when you have a moment please check it out. Thank you!!
Trust me when I say the C8 Z06 is an AMAZING car. I would not be upset at all if I "had" to keep it.
@@ReevesTop To each there own, most of the ZO6 owners are retired ,older wiser guys that don't ever drive the car the way it's meant to. Most are garage Queens n only take them out for car shows to show off there ride, cars n coffee.. All this time nonsense is funny.. Maybe a couple will hit the tracks n there probably going to be a couple Utubers that I follow that got the car for constant but Justin drives, customizes n enjoys the car..It's just a different beast. Forget the horsepower, just to difference in the upgraded body from the ZO6,split window, huge wing..air vents, front ventilated fronk..ppsshhhhh..A Must have .. I just wonder if the guys that want to keep there ZO6 n want to customize them, Can you use the split window, the front zr1 fronk , large wing on a ZO6?? 🤔 🤔
I think the zo6 is an enthusiast car that engine is something else not very many cars will have that sound and
I don't know any corvette owner that wouldn't try and acquire the new ZR1. Unfortunately dealer markups will be ridiculous
How long have you been on ZR1 list? I am in at my dealership I’m 5 on list, at msrp top 10 dealer. If crazy price I will pass.
I've been on this list for a while, right around the time I got on for the Z06 which was 2019.
I can't even imagine how crazy would be this Z06 with a 8 to 1 header if is possible to fit in... 5:55
I love your z06 but you need a c8 zr1 to go along with your c7
If GM prices it right I probably will!
Z06 most likely best bang for buck... but if i could afford the ZR1... i would 🔥
I love the C8 ZO6! If I could afford it, I'd trade for a ZR1. If a loaded ZO6 is near 200k, I think the top ZR1 will exceed 230k. Guess I'll suffer with the highest HP normally aspirated V8🤣
where are you gonna put the extra 400 hp to play in what streets?
What ballpark are you looking for in order to sell the Z? Or is that a private email question?
Email. horse.power.obsessed@gmail.com
yes Just do it , Its a cash cow for your channel. or just wait for the Zora Hybrid.
I won't have to pay markup. I have a dealership at MSRP on it. I have an AWE exhaust on my car currently and it sounds PHENOMENAL.
Keep the Z06. With a ZR1, what can you realistically do with another 400+ HP on the street, besides bragging rights? Your Z06 is perfect for the street or track, besides, expect the ZR1 to start at almost 200K.
keep it and still buy it or sell it to me !
Yes! Whatever it costs!
Yes, if price is reasonable. I would say $180 max. Anymore and i would just keep my z06 and put down on a beach house with no hoa
@@NT-lz5ez Notice I said beach house. Not condo. There are plenty in Galveston, TX. See you there! Hehe 😎
Is their zr1 aftermarket heat extractor for the frunck on your zo6 in the near future
I’m looking into that design hood.
If you sell the Z06, with all the mods, is 7:06 there any factory warranty active?
Yes. I've kept the car past the 6 months required by GM.
Your living my dream💯
Keep both 😎
lol I need some hefty donations to do that!
Bentley Mulanne torque 850, C8 ZR1 torque 820. Nice video.
2025 ZR1 will be difficult to get. They are getting MSRP + 50000 to 70000 if you want one of the first available. 😢😢🙄🙄
tough call bud.
I've tested it before with a Stingray. It definitely gets hot even with a Stingray and yes, there is a slight smell.
@@HorsePowerObsessed thanks man, sure appreciate you!
I’ll buy your allotment if you decide against that ZR1
ZR1!!
🤞🤞
Yes you will
Dude, I would sell the C7 ZR1 and buy a C8 ZR1. I would not let go of the C8 Z06, because it may very well be that last naturally aspirated engine Corvette.
That's exactly why I don't want to let go of the C7 ZR1. It's the last of the front engine/manual transmission Corvettes.
@@HorsePowerObsessed
Got you.
Why do you need to fully option the ZR1? My c8z stickered $122k. I just wanted the motor and not all the options
It’s the way I like these cars the most.
Because without all the bells and whistles your car looks like a basic stingray to 99% of the population.
Guess I don’t care if 99% knows

I am happy to have such loyal friends. You are awesome, Stephen!
If you can get one, how could you not.
Just because I can get one doesn’t mean I can’t afford one lol
R u on a list that will get a number of locations
Justin,
You should definitely get a C8 ZR1 for channel!
I think the fully loaded price will be around the $249k range though!
I'm hoping you get an early allocation spot for the channel as you deserve it as an enthusiast who truly enjoys the Corvette platform!
170 👍 Currently

That would be cool! I appreciate the support as always, buddy!
Yes!
You will have a year to decide and probably six months before we even know the price
I talked that way because I do have an allocation secured in a situation that there would be no markup for sure. I would 100% pay MSRP.
Yes because you already got the C7 which is a legend why not have a C8 ZR1 but it's up to you bro I just can't wait to see it in person on the roads good luck chief
Thanks, man! I definitely want one but price is a huge factor!
@@HorsePowerObsessed yes I hear you on that
💯
Dam!! At the new ZR1 price range UPGRADES?!REALLY?! Over 1000hp I know your obsessed brother but come on.. 😂
Zr1 with start out @ $169,995.00 & will top out @ $245-k
I hope so!
Can’t expect 1064 hp mid engine car to not be atleast 175,000 -200,000
I agree
I think you'd love the sound. I just re-watched Emelia with her twin turbo Z06 and it IS slightly quieter but the addition of the twin turbo sound, is awesome. The revs won't be as high in the ZR1, but the raw power will be amazing. I love them both. I'd do the ZR1 if I were you. it'll be a while until you can even get one anyway so enjoy what you have. You can always change your mind.
Where is your seatbelt?
Justin, your Z06 is gorgeous! If it was me and I had what you have, I would probably just wait a little bit to make sure the ZR1 doesn’t have any major problems and allow time for the markups to drop. It’s too bad you can’t have all three cars 😊
Totally agree! It's tough being in this situation lol
Yes but youll do better selling said C7
No, one less allocation for me to contend with!
My guess is a fully loaded C8 ZR1 3LZ with ZKT package and all the carbon fiber will be around 250k plus 100k mark up. All Corvettes should be black but I really like Hysteria purple. Good Luck!
Thanks, man!
My Z06 will be one of the cars I keep for a LONG time! It’s just soooooooo good! I want a ZR1 but I’m not going to get rid of my Z06 to get one. I’ll just have to settle for both. And my ZR1 will be SEBRING ORANGE!
Heck yeah!!
Id i could afford a ZR1 id have one thats all i know lol!!
First as always, and yes you definitely should the ZR1 is a whole another level
You're the man!
The zr1 looks very similar tothe z06...i cant stand big ugly wings and i dont like turbos..sooo, thank god i dont like the zr1..my z06 will be with me for a looooong time...enjoy
