Boldy actually had a bad project drop, the Conway record wasn't that good.
Rome Streets had the best release out of everyone with "wasn't built in a day'. I loved that jawn.
at least this year started out great with Conway's best release in a while.
i didn't even give rome time of day last year man, music in general was wack, my life was wack and the only thing i cared about music wise all year for 2023 was this album and boy was i trying to figure out why, hence why this video came out over 6 months after the album dropped
Kitchen Lights and JD Wrist are the best songs on this album! The album as a whole wasn't good, but you don't have any idea WTF you're talking about!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
House of GLORY, Jalen Rose, Steve and Jony
I love kitchen lights. Just not a fan of JD Wrist and the rest of the wsg trap
@adankpancake I hear you, I mess with JD Wrist, but music is all subjective! Knack man whispering on the track was something creatively different and I thought it went well with the beat! He's whispering, but you can still hear what he saying though!
@@SteveSmith-kd9if I get your point I just don't think that was the best decision for them to do in the studio, the 3 of them are known for high quality stuff so I would expect they'd go for something they're good at. idk.
Gunn's top 5 Songs:
Kitchen Lights
Derrick Boleman
Mr T
$500 Ounces
Jose Canseco
Album could have been way better but JD Wrist was a fucking banger!
Gunn and Stove need a collab project already.
kitchen lights and mr t are definitely top 5 for me but idk about the rest. not a bad list
jd wrist wasn't it for me idk. i feel like the moment has passed for a gunn and stove album, they have enough songs together in westsides discography that i feel like we already lowkey got it.
@@adankpancake I do agree that JD wrist sounds like a Lex Luger joint from the 2010’s. Would probably feel more at home on a Waka Flocka tape but that “Flyest Nigga in the GQ party, Wallahi”gets me everytime and yes, they could’ve done without Estee Nack on that one.
Mr. T is incredible! Still in regular rotation... peace to Apollo Brown on that illustrious beat 🥰
1989 is actually my favorite track 1111111111 thousand it’s very entertaining to me 🤷♂️🤔🔥🔥🔥
im glad you enjoy it! just not for me
You finally did a review 3 odd months later. Wow!
It doesn't seem odd imo
lol, valid criticism i guess. no one's rly lookin out for a review of this album now anyway. i heard a couple snippets and decided i wanted to give an opinion which led to the video. regardless of how you feel i do thank you for the comment.
This video is a contender for top 5 of the best videos at saying "contender for being top 5"...
thanks i guess?
I’d love for you to explain how Red Death and Kostas are so similar. I don’t hear anything similar, i’m a musician but maybe i’m missing something.
benny was flowin very similar on both and it felt very forced on both songs, that's pretty much what i meant but i didn't get that across in the best possible way
It’s art. I was fucking with it
I'm glad you like it, overall it wasn't it for me. His new album is good tho
Nah his track with Jeezy went dumb hard!
it was cool but nothing im going back to
The Best Take!!!!!
it hurts to see him do this to his legacy!!
Thanks for the comment!
@@adankpancake He truly had one of the most consistent discographies ever before this - supposedly his _last_ album! Sooooo disappointing.
Kinda hard liking this guy when he blocked me for no reason lol at least I can see Benny & Conway.
same lol. he doesn't let anyone criticize him online without blocking
@adankpancake that's probably what it was...said something that got him butthurt lol not my fault he wore a purse in the hood 😂
@@adankpancake that's lameeee
Mino reaction is hilarious 😂
fr, i love that guy. don't know him personally but i'd love to collab with him somehow if that were possible. thanks for the comment!
And then you pray for me was disappointing besides kitchen lights, mamas PRIMETIME and like 2 more tracks
Honestly real
I liked the project especially ever track with Stove On it 🔥 Mega$
that's good!
The Revenge of Flips Legs is the only track I go back to
one of the best songs on the project for sure! thanks for the comment!
Just admit it's garbage...a frisbee...3 good songs on a project is a failure
i really don't know if i can say it's garbage tho!! i like 8 songs at least it's just that the weird westside trap stuff don't hit!
thanks for the comment!
Look as a long standing hip hop head w/ exception of K Dot and Roc Marci all artist come out w/ a sh×t album (1 or 2)..ATCQ had 6 albums 4 classic and 2 terrible..it happens, Gunn cant outdo Supreme Blientele peaked
@brawlnation5194 don't ever tag me with a silly comment ever in your life, kendricks albums are garbage, his new song sounds like music for drag queens with gay wordplay, roc marc doesn't have any good album, good songs & over hyped by bloggers
I haven't been checking for these dudes lately 🤔
they're not rly giving us good reasons to. west's last true peak as an artist was on hwh 8. still bumping those weekly.
lmao not the death note 🎶
Agree 85% but you crazy for not vibing to JD Wrist & Jalen Rose. Why you never review Benny and Conway albums they are even better
i wasn't really a fan of their most recent stuff
I have this in my Top 3 albums for 2024, and I’m a casual westside fann 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I'd say the more casual a fan one is of WSG, the better the chances they'll like this album... 2/3 of it's so unlike the rest of his discography.
FlyGod is an awesome god 2,HWH4 and who made the sunshine we’re masterpieces y’all trippin.
no. they aren't bad projects per se but definitely not everything he touches is gold. all those albums got great songs but cohesively no. thanks for the comment!
What a lot of people didn’t know is that his album was done in Europe….His sounds are more Euro than your typical boom Bap sound. I understand why he did it, and it’s more tapping into the Euro sounds. If you understand some of the music in various European countries, then you would understand this project. Everyone has their opinion, but you don’t have to like it. S/O to my Bro Westside…New album dropping this month.
That's fine but I'm listening for a quality westside gunn rap album, not a euro sound album.
Know that; artists who publish everything are not only giving more, they are more vulnerable
he's not giving anything here
@@adankpancake review my last album
K E N N Y O M E G A
When you realize Gunn is overatted and all his songs sound the same as the ones u dont like lmao
What’s the background sound your talking though in the first 30 seconds??
Killshot by arms and sleepers. Thanks for the comment!
@@adankpancake I agree with your take as well about Gunn! Keep making fire content!
Some guys dont like trap beats and they disregard anything that doesnt sound like a jeezy trap beat.. you put these artists in a box and then complain everything sounds the same... its like none of them can win with the fans they have ... and i hate them for it..
I don't know if this is a jab at myself or not but if it is, dawg did you watch the video? i loved every song here that wasn't trap.
either way, thanks for the comment
@adankpancake no ... wasn't a jab at you at all... and yes I watched the whole video.. I'm just calling how I see it.. the 90s hiphop heads are the most toxic out of all the sub genres of hiphop..music Is so subjective and everyone has a right to their opinions.. I'm one of those that take the good with the bad .. I want the artists I like to be free in their creativity.. that's why kanye is so good .. he just simply doesn't give a F about any opinion except his
@triplebeam23 oh yeah, sorry for misreading your comment. They definitely are the worst but i guess when you stay upset at a genre and not try to understand it moving on without you it makes people angry.
I'm not really into trap, but there are good trap tracks (like on Boldy and Alc's work)... this is objectively AWFUL trap!
Please tell me you heard his most recent projects, 11 and Still Praying
I did, they were cool, I enjoyed them enough.
Good vid...
Thanks for the comment!
KENNY OMEGA😭😭😭
Kenny Omega is clear Lil B homage. Also I only just heard this Keisha Plum hate after 2020. It’s weird. I rarely dislike her poems.
she's not horrible the whole time but she's extremely hit or miss and her verse on this album was not it. that's fine and i love Lil B's music but that doesn't excuse it from being a bad song in it's entirety.
still, thanks for the comment
I love Keisha's Griselda features!
I am a big fan of westside Gunn but I only liked one track on this album !!! A big letdown in an almost perfect back catalogue!!!
replay it, there's some good ones on here but it's buried in the mediocre!
Not bad for someone that never really wanted to rap, internet critics always trying to pick someone apart
it's not that i always want to pick someone apart its that this project was not enjoyable for over half of it to me. idk what to tell ya man
Good video :)
Thanks! Thanks for the comment!
He was doing too much on that last album
Im not sure why people are mad this is undoubtedly the worst project he has ever made and i been listening to him since blientele those trap beats had him fighting for his life
dude on god, brother has 1 trap flow
@ N im not saying that like a snarky “I hate trap music” guy because that’s annoying too bro just doesn’t know how to rap on them beats I am so tired of niggas acting like anything gunn does is godsent when in reality he totally misses the mark sometimes.. which is ok nobody is 100% fire all the time
10 and Then you pray for me was trash. Everybody can’t go was trash. Won’t he do it was trash.
10 had like 4 good tracks for me, this one had like 8, everybody can't go was just mediocre and won't he do it was baaaaaaad in my opinion. thanks for the comment!
Project was good idk what yall heard
I'm glad you like it!
8 quintessential Griselda tracks, and the rest is _hot garbage!_ 🤦♂️ The absolute worst of the kinda music I swore Wes would NEVER make...
Man dropped all them mixtapes and collabs with some of the best n still ain't got his flowers I'm ashamed of u hip-hop 🤦🏽
that's fine, those are those projects and this is this. it's just not a good project man idk what to say
Great read
Ultra grizelda
JD wrist
Kitchen lights
Discusting
Jalen rose
1989
💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
idk how you like any of those besides kitchen lights and jalen rose but you do you man.
@@adankpancake the album had a 2010 trap aesthetic mixed with boombap
It was him just making music
He was locked up for awhile and didn't get to make some of that music so he did it
The album definitely wasn't bad as some people think
I disagree. 1989 is fire 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Stive killed it. They should have did a video for it.
im glad you enjoyed it but it was nottttt hitting for me
I didn’t like the trap beats on there it doesn’t work for me
This album is his best Album . what r u talking about dude???Only Master Ace and Roc Marciano pipped him this year
nahhh bruh. all mid.
I love all these tracks its different especially on the trap beats
I'm glad you fw it!
Mr. Everything was slappin cuz
definitely not
Im so tired of CAVE men thinking their opinion his what it is fans need to shut up & make a ablum 😅
how's your rap career going?
@@adankpancake go back to the caves it will get better 😂
He’s been putting out 2-3 projects a year since the Obama administration. But when he changes things up “he’s cooked” and the features that have been on his classics are trash now????? 😂😂😂
the he's cooked part was meant to get your attention. as for what you mean about features on his classics, you'll have to elaborate because i think he has a lot of classics, i don't think a lot of the features on this album were good, but i don't consider this album one of his classics so it all works out
@@adankpancake Keisha Plum has been a part of Griselda from jump and you shaded her unequivocally. Just the fact that you would post a statement for attention and not stand on it speaks volumes. If you don’t like a project, cool. But to act like it’s the end of his run just to get views is weak. There’s way too much garbage out there to be trying to chase clout dogging dudes trying elevate the culture. I’m not saying you gotta love everything they do but it’s like you want to be first to announce he fell off or something.
@@firenyce I think this might be the end for him man idk, the album wasn't it. the last truly good project from him was hwh 8. 10 was mediocre at best. if i was the first to announce his fall off i wouldve done it when this album came out. i wanted to try to understand it more and it didn't hit for me. at the end of the day im not a griselda d-rider i like some of the music and i have opinions about the music i don't like. shit aint all that serious imo. why should westside care anything about my videos? everyone in griselda is their own artist and if they take so much from fans and critics then maybe they shouldn't create music or whatever the hell they consider to be art
Man your crazy, this album was 🔥🔥🔥
im glad you like it! thanks for the comment
Gotten tired of the whole gfxr movement back then. You can only say the same so many times.
fair enough!
A lot of your takes are boof but i agree on the overall message
we don't have to agree on everything, i really am just a random dude online. it's never that serious but im glad you felt some of what i was sayin.
thanks for the comment!
THE WORST LP IVE HEARD ALL 23 and that says ALOT!!!🗑️🗑️🗑️🗑️
Bro does not care about music he is a artist
That's fine but this kinda stuff is ruining his legacy
@@adankpancake not necessarily his legacy is his rise to this point which can never fade. All of those projects laid the foundation that he stands on with everybody he puts on is a refreshment to that foundation as it cracks its just hope that they bring something to the house. Till they go off and build their own foundations.
That Kenny omega shit was 💩 dookie!
it was hard to get through
Trashed stove god. 😆
Y’all got bad taste. My man made art piece yall judge it like a commercial product. He barely a rapper he really an artist. Open ya ears n delete this shit. It’s a terrible take and u probably shouldn’t be allowed to review any more hip hop cuz ya obv don’t get it
It's out there in the world just like any other original product. Artists are not free from criticism by labeling their work as art, when Maurizio Cattelan taped a banana to a wall and it sold in the minimum 6 figures that doesn't mean what he did is genius it means he found a way to make easy money off people who knew no better. at the end of the day it's music and i'm gonna put my opinion out there. You don't have to agree, you can simply not watch. Clearly though you didn't watch because in the video I describe which songs I liked from it and which ones I didn't. I gave praise when the album deserved it but I don't have wsgs meat in my mouth 24/7.
this guy said “jalen rose” “dunhill” and “ll bool gunn” weren’t good😂 man, i’m out✌🏾
that's fine bro
