The DMC reboot needs its own series man. I’m one of the very few who will admit it’s actually a good spinoff. Just got lots of backlash due to the timeline of the release
+1 bro, DmC was a lot funnier to me compared to DMC3 or DMC4. By his time it was absolutely ridiculous that the principal "argue" against this game were Dante's hair, nothing more else. Now everybody, grown men, can't stand that stupid argue BUT, even with that been said, there's ppl who till this day continues trying to find a way to bitch about it. Incredible. Curious data: Vergil's downfall, DmC's DLC, have a masterpiece storyline that complement the game, not to mention his playability; is in that DLC that you can play like Vergil and feel an actually true grown of his power, that thing that he's always looking for and finally reach. DMC5 Vergil have many of the DmC Vergil.

DmC is incredible and his gameplay addicting. After years is still very beautiful to watch and play and doesn't look too bad graphically even compared to 5 (which is obviously better, because it's a modern game). Please you all, try the game and don't trust who says it's sh1t. Make your own opinion. It's a very different kind of experience and a fresh breath. They took tons of things from DmC for DMC5, so if you like the latter you will like a lot of things DmC has to offer.

For a younger dante this suits better imo and it's more realistic, like DMC5s outfit. The original saga still have a terrible story (if it wasn't for DMC3). It was never considered a good, full of plot holes they filled with DMC5 copying entire narrative choices from the reboot, who actually explained ALL these things at the start of the game. Return to dante's home, vergil's jealousy and doppel and other shit were all Reboot's choices. Calling it shit is a contraddiction. Also, Dante during the reboot actually matures and is quite better (not perfect), and you can see Vergil Fall. Imo making too much comparisons is stupid, considering how bad was also the original. It is better, but not A LOT better than reboot, which present a more cohesive story respect even 5

If you compare the variety of combos that Capcom's Dante has against what Ninja Theory offers, the comparison is unfair. I admit that Ninja Theory had an interesting level design and even better than Capcom in some missions, but I play Hack and Slash for combat and not for level design and in that Capcom is unbeatable, Devil May Cry 5 has the best combat system among all games of its genre, without competition, not even Ninja Theory's attempt at DMC can match in this aspect. So on balance we have with Ninja Theory a better level design in some missions and with Capcom a Dante with a much larger repertoire of combos and more charismatic characters, I definitely prefer DMC5 than a sequel to the reboot attempt.
This makes me wish Capcom to make a Devil May Cry multiverse. Just imagined OG Dante, DmC Dante, Cyborg Dante, Noir Dante, Patriot Dante, God Dante and many more. But i guess Capcom can't spend too much money and knowing how aggressive the Devil May Cry fans are it will never happened 😔
Technically those Dante's you mentioned does exist they just never clearly say it. There's technically alternate version of Dante's in DMC 2 novel I think it it was in that novel where like mundus was coming across alternate realities of Dante's and each reality he defeated them I believe like it's confirmed somewhere in one of the novels.

in my country (Brazil) a lot of people like this game and recognize its value, for some it's even the best, there's no reason to treat the game as bad only for the characters, there are few of you who recognize this.
You're the person who is comparing them to deem one as the "loser". You don't have to, and this video isn't doing that either IMO. I for one played the games way out of "order" and from the get-go knew DmC would in no way be an attempt to hold true to devil may cry, but rather its own totally unique take on a hack-and-slash. So I just embraced it for the parts I liked, bad ass heavy metal, very intuitive controls, and some downright hilarious scenes. and I think it's fair to say even if it's not a devil may cry game, dmc 2013 knew what it was and was confident about it. I barely ever comment, especially on comments, but for some reason felt compelled to see if I could show you another perspective

The way I see it, all the genuinely good parts of a game like that will be overshadowed by your own perspective if you constantly compare it to what you think it "should" be whilst playing. I loved the game's visual style to bits and REALLY took a liking to the music. Can't stress it enough lol. Gotta go still one of my fave songs

The reboot version of Dante's fighting style is brash, reckless and straight up merciless. But canon Dante's fighting style seems to be more refined, stylish and looks like he has a bit of grace in his movements.
TBH the only thing the remake has over dmc5 is its levels are more aesthetically pleasing , which doesn't say a lot since the gameplay in a series like dmc is more important.
I was expecting DmC to be terrible due to the online criticism. The game play is actually very good. Its not as technical as DMC 4 and 5 Dante gameplay, but they did do some nice things that shouldn't be over looked. For one, they gave Dante`s melee attacks a real sense of weight. Every hit you make has a satisfying violent thud to it. I do kind of miss that. They also did a good job making the environment a tool for your combat enjoyment. You can slam demons into amusement park rides, oncoming trains, ban saws. ect ect. Even enemy demons were capable of friendly fire to other demons which was sweet. This is really something I thought they would expand in in DMC 5 but I didnt notice it. I could list just as many things that DMC 5 did better than DmC but I still don`t think DmC is deserving of all the hate.
Don't get why people hate this game I played the game for myself and honestly it was pretty awesome the combat was pretty good I loved this game. People who hate this game need to atleast play it once.
i am a fan of DMC, since i played 3 for the first time. I also disliked the Reboot... well for reasons. lol But as a fan i can confirm that the DMC fanbase have really stubborn ones. Who know what is wrong and what is right. And they don´t even know what they want. I mean, they wanted Vergil to be Nero´s father. DMC5 confirmed it and now they call the story fanservice and horrible. And DMC5 is just a DmC2... They clearly don´t know what they want. (sorry for my bad english, i am german)

Every games has it good and not too good side. DMC is a good game, but me personally, i liked devil may cry 1, 3, and 5 better than DMC, simply because they sticked to Dante's original story and character, and i loved it.

V was in concept a great addition to the story of 5 but like every other DMC game Capcom didn’t do much with him. Read the Visions of V comics, it made me cry during a few parts. Still doesn’t excuse bad story from the game though
Tbh DMC’s dante has way better mechanics in terms of how you use the weapons, DMC5’s Dante is way more difficult to make great combos and what i hate the most is the fact that you cant choose which weapon to use, you gotta go through all the 4 weapons of each that you have and during a situation with a lot of pressure it just gets messy and takes too much time, also, the fact that you cant lock an enemy without compromising something is not the best approach (this is for all the DMC5 characters) if somehow capcom merged the game mechanics of DMC, with all of the DMC5 i think the game would be complete and no one could be able to ask more.

@@c0mplex_Ale Im not extremely skilled, thats true, but my point i think it still stands, cause it only happens to Dante, Nero is more easier to control his mechanics, even with the breaker system, cause that was intentional so that you can mix more your combos and not get attached to a single system, but in Dante’s case, is not like that, dont believe me? play Ghost of Tsushima, is a fairly difficult game with a lot of mechanics, and you can use them all at will like a reflex, same with Nero, is meant to be like that, to feel instead of look. Even Dante from DMC 4 is better at this. And like i said, im noy highly skilled, but it took me way more times to beat the bloody palace with dante than what it took me with Nero (V is out of the question) another example of mechanics made right, play SIFU. You also missed firearms and Aquila's 3 most useful moves... which are basically B'n'B of how you deal with crowds it his game... PS. I find DmC haters comments here absolutely hilarious. According to them the game was bad because: 1) Dante starts the game with black hair and gets white hair only towards the end; 2) In one of the early trailers Dante smoked; 3) Controls of the game are made more convenient than that of earlier DMC games; 4) Game does not explain you what Devil Trigger does and leave you to figure it out yourself; what a ROFL There are things about this games that fans legitimately could've complained, like: a) switch of style of main character and his weapon from anime-ish to different one; b) switch of environment from antique/greek-ish inspired to basically London; c) over-reliance on air combos; d) number of annoying unskippable cut-scenes (although that was the norm for the era); e) meh boss fights; f) disgusting antagonist

DMC is the story of Dante way before DMC 3 and DMC 5 is the story after DMC 4 so comparing them would not be a wise choice. DMC 2013 came after DMC 4 but that doesn't mean it is the continuation of DMC 4.

It's a taunt you get for 3 million Red Orbs. People found DmC Dante cringey because he's an edgelord and not a goofball like regular Dante. The simple fact is that no one wanted a reboot for Devil May Cry, they just wanted a fifth game in the series. DmC would have been better received if it wasn't a reboot and was a new IP. The only reason why DmC exists is because Inafune felt that Japanese gaming was dead, and that Capcom should Westernize their games, this resulted in reboots for DMC and Bionic Commando, Inafune would later make Mighty No. 9.
DmC animations, special effects, and sound design are honestly so ahead of its times. And outside of the context of him being dante ornot, his visual design is 11/10. the clarity and strong second, third animations in his design is just so 👌
Right off the bat I noticed things I dislike in DMC5: Too much Battle grunts/voice. I prefer the weapon sounds to shine, not grunts I could make just as easily. Devil Trigger is also much better in DmC as is the running animation
In my opinion: the reboot has good gameplay but bad story and characters. 1. They turned Dante from a cool whacky badass guy to an emo jerk. 2. Dante's insults are pretty basic and lame in the reboot. 3. The game starts with a "Fuck you" to the original DMC fans.(The "Not in a million years" cutscene.) 4. Dante's VA sounds like he's being held at gunpoint while voice acting. 5. The story is basically a modified version of DMC2. 6. Angels being an important part of the story but never showing up in gameplay.(Except Eva.) 7. Vergil being kind of a reskinned Dante. 8. Dante smokes in the game. (The least Dante thing to do.) 9. The cutscenes in Vergil's DLC don't match with the gameplay. 10. Vergil can't pronounce "Yamato" correctly.

I played and finished it. It has okayish gameplay, dmc standard but everything else are meh and character design is nightmare.

You're the person who is comparing them to deem one as the "loser". You don't have to, and this video isn't doing that either IMO. I for one played the games way out of "order" and from the get-go knew DmC would in no way be an attempt to hold true to devil may cry, but rather its own totally unique take on a hack-and-slash. So I just embraced it for the parts I liked, bad ass heavy metal, very intuitive controls, and some downright hilarious scenes. and I think it's fair to say even if it's not a devil may cry game, dmc 2013 knew what it was and was confident about it. I barely ever comment, especially on comments, but for some reason felt compelled to see if I could show you another perspective

The way I see it, all the genuinely good parts of a game like that will be overshadowed by your own perspective if you constantly compare it to what you think it "should" be whilst playing. I loved the game's visual style to bits and REALLY took a liking to the music. Can't stress it enough lol. Gotta go still one of my fave songs

The reboot version of Dante's fighting style is brash, reckless and straight up merciless.
But canon Dante's fighting style seems to be more refined, stylish and looks like he has a bit of grace in his movements.
TBH the only thing the remake has over dmc5 is its levels are more aesthetically pleasing , which doesn't say a lot since the gameplay in a series like dmc is more important.
Imo DmC has the best aesthetics and level design in the entire series. But other than that the other games are better
DmC is the first game in the series that I know and play, and the gameplay of this one is way more friendly with new player
DMC5 is friendly with newer players as well if you're playing Nero, V, or Vergil instead of Dante.

I was expecting DmC to be terrible due to the online criticism. The game play is actually very good. Its not as technical as DMC 4 and 5 Dante gameplay, but they did do some nice things that shouldn't be over looked.
For one, they gave Dante`s melee attacks a real sense of weight. Every hit you make has a satisfying violent thud to it. I do kind of miss that.
They also did a good job making the environment a tool for your combat enjoyment. You can slam demons into amusement park rides, oncoming trains, ban saws. ect ect. Even enemy demons were capable of friendly fire to other demons which was sweet. This is really something I thought they would expand in in DMC 5 but I didnt notice it.
I could list just as many things that DMC 5 did better than DmC but I still don`t think DmC is deserving of all the hate.

Don't get why people hate this game I played the game for myself and honestly it was pretty awesome the combat was pretty good I loved this game. People who hate this game need to atleast play it once.
i am a fan of DMC, since i played 3 for the first time. I also disliked the Reboot... well for reasons. lol
But as a fan i can confirm that the DMC fanbase have really stubborn ones. Who know what is wrong and what is right. And they don´t even know what they want.
I mean, they wanted Vergil to be Nero´s father. DMC5 confirmed it and now they call the story fanservice and horrible. And DMC5 is just a DmC2...

Es verdad tal vez jugó en pc, falto la patada cuando los atraes con armas demoníacas, la carga con Osiris, las dos formas de esquivar, la escopeta y la otra arma qué funciona como C4 y en los videos se ve que le falta práctica, el sistema de juego te da para combos de lujo
@@alexanderflorentino5730 Y eso que para cada combo solo puedes repetir 2 veces con cada arma y ir intercalando con cualquieraientras no se repita tal y como una de las pruebas lo deja claro, con eso se puede hacer un combo y repetir nuevamente esa cadena o cambiarla mientras no se repita 2 veces y no se deje hacer daño, lo hace más frenético y creativo

V was in concept a great addition to the story of 5 but like every other DMC game Capcom didn’t do much with him. Read the Visions of V comics, it made me cry during a few parts. Still doesn’t excuse bad story from the game though
Tbh DMC’s dante has way better mechanics in terms of how you use the weapons, DMC5’s Dante is way more difficult to make great combos and what i hate the most is the fact that you cant choose which weapon to use, you gotta go through all the 4 weapons of each that you have and during a situation with a lot of pressure it just gets messy and takes too much time, also, the fact that you cant lock an enemy without compromising something is not the best approach (this is for all the DMC5 characters) if somehow capcom merged the game mechanics of DMC, with all of the DMC5 i think the game would be complete and no one could be able to ask more.

@@c0mplex_Ale Im not extremely skilled, thats true, but my point i think it still stands, cause it only happens to Dante, Nero is more easier to control his mechanics, even with the breaker system, cause that was intentional so that you can mix more your combos and not get attached to a single system, but in Dante’s case, is not like that, dont believe me? play Ghost of Tsushima, is a fairly difficult game with a lot of mechanics, and you can use them all at will like a reflex, same with Nero, is meant to be like that, to feel instead of look. Even Dante from DMC 4 is better at this. And like i said, im noy highly skilled, but it took me way more times to beat the bloody palace with dante than what it took me with Nero (V is out of the question) another example of mechanics made right, play SIFU. Then, we can speak about “Skills”

PS. I find DmC haters comments here absolutely hilarious. According to them the game was bad because:
1) Dante starts the game with black hair and gets white hair only towards the end;
2) In one of the early trailers Dante smoked;
3) Controls of the game are made more convenient than that of earlier DMC games;
4) Game does not explain you what Devil Trigger does and leave you to figure it out yourself;
what a ROFL
There are things about this games that fans legitimately could've complained, like:
a) switch of style of main character and his weapon from anime-ish to different one;
b) switch of environment from antique/greek-ish inspired to basically London;
c) over-reliance on air combos;
d) number of annoying unskippable cut-scenes (although that was the norm for the era);
e) meh boss fights;
f) disgusting antagonist

Mi favorito de la saga es dmc 3, pero el rebut 2013 me parece excepcional. El estudio dedarrollador se nota que tiene talento. Me parece una estupidez el odio que recibio y me hubiera encantado una continuacion. Lo compre en ps3 y luego en pc. Lo he terminado varias veces. En relacion a dmc 5 creo que es un gran juego, que aunque no lo quieran admitir bebe mucho del reboot del 2013 en cuanto principalmente a su exelente gameplay.

Right off the bat I noticed things I dislike in DMC5: Too much Battle grunts/voice.
I prefer the weapon sounds to shine, not grunts I could make just as easily.
Devil Trigger is also much better in DmC as is the running animation

In my opinion: the reboot has good gameplay but bad story and characters.
1. They turned Dante from a cool whacky badass guy to an emo jerk.
2. Dante's insults are pretty basic and lame in the reboot.
3. The game starts with a "Fuck you" to the original DMC fans.(The "Not in a million years" cutscene.)
4. Dante's VA sounds like he's being held at gunpoint while voice acting.
5. The story is basically a modified version of DMC2.
6. Angels being an important part of the story but never showing up in gameplay.(Except Eva.)
7. Vergil being kind of a reskinned Dante.
8. Dante smokes in the game. (The least Dante thing to do.)
9. The cutscenes in Vergil's DLC don't match with the gameplay.
10. Vergil can't pronounce "Yamato" correctly.
