This roughneck is exactly what I'm looking for! I bought a 250 steak grill last summer, and just love it! I was a hasty bake fan for life! I can't wait to get my hands on one of these!! Thank You, Hasty Bake!🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 Update 12/26: I could finally afford one, and received mine days before Christmas. After the burn through, put it to work the very next day smoking an 11lb. pork loin. It reached 250 in no time, and I was off to the races! Even though it was my first cook on it, it only spiked once(it was my own fault since my excitement kept me awake all night, and I fell asleep during the cook😆😆😆) But was easily saved by leaving the lid open for a few minutes. I was extremely impressed how well the roughneck could breathe! The airflow coming out of the exhaust port was IMPRESSIVE, and the way it held temps with a hickory split & a half basket of charcoal was top notch! I admit, I've only been smoking meat for 2yrs, but this was the easiest cook I've ever had! Everything turned out perfectly! A Huge Thank You, & Merry Christmas to Kent & Shan, And Everyone @ HastyBake! God Bless America, And God Bless Our Beloved Veterans! We cannot Thank You Enough!!

Looks great! I was thinking I was going to buy a drum this spring, but might be getting this bad boy instead.
Update- placed my order. Thankfully my wife is understanding and loves Kent! 😁
Update - it's assembled and currently have a pork shoulder on there smoking away. It is holding temp very well.

@@kevinthomas4861 Kevin I am really enjoying this smoker. I have used it often and with great success. The size may be a bit small for some but just cooking for my family it is fine. Overall usable space on each level of grates is approx. 18"x18". I have used it with and without the deflector and enjoy having that flexibility. Overall I give it a big thumbs up!

I saw this video and your video about smoked salmon on the Roughneck. I had 14", 18" & 22" Weber Smokey Mountain charcoal smokers. I sold all three and got my Hasty Bake Roughneck Cowboy Smoke Box. Stainless steel grates (upper & lower), wheel & handle kit, stainless steel ash pan. It arrived with the wheel / handle kit, lower rack & Roughneck Thermometer already installed.
Having a fire door makes life so much easier. I can slide a propane log starter in under the charcoal basket or access the basket without taking it all apart.
It gets kinda windy here in Texas, so I found my WSM in multiple pieces, scattered all over the back yard two or three times. The 110 pound Roughneck isn't going anywhere unless we have a Cat4 or Cat5 hurricane blow thru here.
I almost bought a cover for it and then realized that was kinda ridiculous. It sits out on my covered patio, but after only a month or so, it is starting to develop it's own patina. It sits out there alongside all my stainless steel built-in kitchen and my Yoder pellet smoker in all its glory. It has become one of my most treasured possessions and pieces of cooking equipment.
I have been smoking pork butts, meat loaf and chuck roasts for BBQ beef sandwiches. When the chuck stalls, it goes into the crock pot that's already idling with my own blend of beef broth, herbs & spices. Maybe a big ol' turkey breast next. Brisket, too.
I wish they made the Legacy or Gourmet Pro in Corten steel, also. There are things you can do with those grills that you can't do with a gas grill.
I'm truly enjoying my Hasty Bake Roughneck "Kent's Cowboy Smoke Box". I look forward to cooking on it frequently.
Thanks for all the wonderful material you and Shannon produce here on your channel. Chalk up one more Hasty Bake sale to your credit! 🙂

Brilliant. Nonetheless, made me think of my first homemade smoker(the one actually worked.) But being married to a vegetarian, smoking veggies and tofu, well you figure it out. Nonetheless, I will be passing this along to our church hospitality crew. YES, they take post-church- service victuals quite seriously. No tuna casserole for lunch after our services. It's obvious that this smoker is a generational item. Thank you again.

Hi Kent. I drove to the Hasty Bake Store today to buy a Roughneck. When I got there, I found that they couldn't source the cast iron grates, so now the grates are stainless steel. I have been cooking on stainless steel for a long time, and know that if its too cold, t1ha food sticks, and if its too hot, the food sticks. That is a deal breaker for me. Please let me know when the cast iron grates come back, and I am a buyer! I also got 5o see the new all stainless Roughneck. Nice looking.
