I'm biased because this era was my prime youth...but IMHO the explosion of creativity around '78-'82 is unmatched. Look at this band...a melodic goth tune on a 12 string guitar and fretless bass...just genius.
Yeah. I listen to it. Still stand by my statement. It seems like music started in the 1990’s for most millennials. And I guess it did but nothing came before it.
No, this song really needs the lead guitar screeches on the record, the backing vox moans and the high sustained string synth. This live version is just strumming all the way thru, sorry
Well, Bauhaus didn't employ a second guitarist live. If so, it would sound more like the studio version. There aren't that many lead guitar "screeches" on the studio version, a few though, and there's a second rhythm guitar with a bit of low overdrive playing the muted chords underneath Daniel's 12-string.
This song still rocking today, yesterday and tomorrow 😍

Daniel Ash: Underrated guitarist!!
If musicians wrote like this now the world wouldn’t be in as bad a shape
J C plenty of good music these days, rarely does the underground pierce the mainstream. don’t b so shallow.
