I think with Bayle you just have to SEE the boss fight and know what's going into it with Igon and hell Bayle himself but I think it's actually one of my favourites with just how intense it is
I like Bayle's fight because it's a mixture of the predictible and the unpredictible. He does one moveset where when he charges forward he let's off a little dragon breath to let you know what's coming but in another he just charges forward w/o giving any time to react. Unlike Midir, Bayle always keeps you on your toes (Although I must've fought Midir over 200 times by now lol).
I lost my father in October and I felt so lost. My life literally fell apart around me. You're channel really helped me through some tough nights. You helped ground me and remind me that it's okay to feel. It's okay to be a guy who weeps and gushes over video games and their music. Truly thank you Marco.

That quieter part in the middle of "Placidusax" reminds me of the moment that he dissapears and turns into a cloud. There is a mystic, dreadful quality to it. The choir asks the question: "What will you do now, brave warrior? Be ready for anything.." h
Ngl, the dlc has some of my absolute favorite that FS has ever dished out. First place is probably Promised Consort and 2nd place is those who fight for a common cause. I genuinely can't pick a 3rd lol
I’d personally put Midra, Lord of Frenzied Flame at number one, followed by Those United in Common Cause and then Divine Beast Dancing Lion. 4th probably belongs to Bayle, then Messmer/Promised Consort/Rellana sharing 5th
Godfrey is really particular because as a soundtrack I agree with you, it sounds like noises, but contextually, and that's the beauty of Fromsoft, it's a great piece of art, especially in the Horas Loux phase, because you really sense the feel of being chased, you're the prey, he's the hunter. Alone, the soundtrack isn't amazing, but the fight makes it amazing. And same for Bayle.
About dancing lion, yes, it DOES make sense, that's exactly what I feel when I'm listening to it. That primal urge to fight, to succeed, to triumph, to release all your anger. Such a masterpiece.

I absolutely loved hearing what you thought of all the boss themes from Elden ring. One note I would like to say about one of the peices, "The Elder Inquisitioner" is that it is a DLC boss and is tied to Midra in a way. The ruling class in the DLC, the Hornsent, viewed Midras collection of knowledge as taboo. This may be because he had knowledge of the Flame of frenzy. So the Hornsent sent an Inquisition to perform a Damnation like no other. They set upon Midras manse and destroyed it, executing the inhabitants, and subjecting Midra to eternal damnation. Leading midra to suffer and bring about his transformation into the lord of frenzy flame and for its influence to spread throughout the surrounding woods. The Elder Inquisitioner is found at the entrance to the frenzy plagued woods. He summons the spirits of his comrads to fight alongside him it an attempt to stop you from entering, or maybe he is stopping any of the infected beings from leaving... including his former comrads who have succumbed to the maddening frenzy.
my personal top list would be 1. promised consort 2. radagon + elden beast 3. mohg lord of blood 4. lord of frenzied flame 5. starscourge radahn 6. messmer the Impaler 7. malenia blade of Miquella 8. divine beast 9. st. trina (not a boss theme ik) 10. united in common cause tbh anything other than the top 4 is interchangeable. the top 4 is distinctly better in my opinion tho and each of them is eligible for the greatest fromsoft ost title
1:37:51 Whoever said that is very ignorant of the themes in the game. We as the player are in the middle of all these ideologies and by the end we change nothing, we are just pushed around by these ideologies. Kind of like real life politics.
I do think it’s also ignorant when people try to say Elden ring is a social commentary on modern politics. Like honestly thinking from soft is making a statement about irl genocides by simply having a genocide in its world. Someone brought up the differences between DS1/2 and Bloodborne/DS3 soundtracks and I kinda wanted to say: I think I have a bit of a hot take on that topic. I think you could probably take ANY of the DS3 or Bloodborne pieces and if you put it into DS1, it would be the single most iconic and talked about piece of that soundtrack. Pretty much every DS3 song would "win" against a DS1 track in direct comparison. That's probably not too controversial an opinion. BUT when I sit down and just put on a playlist to listen to in the background I will always choose DS1 over DS3 or Bloodborne. Because the OST as a whole is better to me. DS1 jumps around more in terms of atmosphere. Taurus Demon and the Gargoyles are kinda in a similar area, atmospherically, but Capra Demon is completely different, Quelaag is different again; Gwyndolyn and Moonlight Butterfly or Priscilla sound completely different AGAIN, and then there's stuff like Nito or Pinwheel; or Gwyn. And as a result I can tell them apart a lot more. I will be honest, ask me what the Pthumerian Descendant's OST sounds like, or the Witch of Hemwick, or the Shadows of Yharnam, and I just straight up couldn't tell you off the top of my head. I've been failing against Shadows of Yharnam on BL4 for the last few days for hours, and yet I couldn't hum the melody. And some of the ones I do know are very repetitive to be honest, like Darkbeast, Bloodstarved Beast or even, sorry to say it, Gascoigne. I remember distinctly listening to the OST in the background and after 10 minutes I thought "wait is this still the same track?" Now, obviously Bloodborne also gives us stuff like Ludwig, Laurence, Living Failures or Cleric Beast that I absolutely love, easily in the top 10 of all FromSoft songs - but a lot of it is very same-y. If I have to listen to 2 or 3 hours of Bloodborne or 2 or 3 hours of Dark Souls I, I will choose DS every time. Same with DS3 too, to a lesser degree. I don't think any of those are repetitive the same way Darkbeast is, at least. But the OST as a whole is too... I don't know, creepy-sad church music. Each of these, even the less interesting ones, would beat my favourite DS1 tracks in a direct comparison. O+S, Nito, Pinwheel or Taurus Demon can't possibly beat even something like Shadows of Yharnam, even though I think they might be more memorable. But if I have listen to the entirety of the OST? Ugh. No. Elden Ring is actually significantly better at that. Sure, you have a lot of forgettable songs like Fallen Knights, or the basic boss themes of, say, Mad Pumpkin Head or Erdtree Burial Watchdog and stuff like that. But overall, a lot of bosses have themes that feel more like they stand out against the rest of the OST despite fitting into the overall theme. I am never going to confuse Astel, Renala, Morgott, Mohg, Fortissax, Elden Beast, Erdtree Avatar and Rykard with each other; but there's a pretty good chance that I might confuse a lot of the bosses of DS3 and Bloodborne.
I'm not sure I get the Fire Giant slander. Whenever I hear that track, I just want to get down on my knees and pray for an elder god, or something idk. It just feels so in your face and so heavy, I think it not only suits him perfectly, it's also fairly unique, with the emphasis on low strings and flutes. Now, it does work better when fighting him, but so does every other Elden Ring track anyways. I'd say he deserves to be in A tier somewhere. (Also, unrelated, but the boss itself is also overhated as shit. Also low A tier in this regard)
1:39:35 Elden Ring is far more chaotic, those are the wrong words. Fortissax is just too aggressive throughout the entire track, there is no breaks, i feel Godrick did this way better, it is always so heavy and aggressive too but it introduces many small dynamic elements that break up the constant noise and gives it shape.
I find it somewhat funny that for me, the dlc had among the most forgettable theme. Even though it hadn't been long, the only music I somewhat remember is the first phase of Bayle
@@andrei-cezarbleaje5519 I meant Maliketh's ost, it's overall more cohesive and has a better ending. Fortissax's theme problem is from around 2/2,5 minutes onward it's way over the top. Dramatic almost all the time with no breaks, barely any moment to catch a breath. Just non-stop high gear which becomes a blur at some point. It's just not that interesting, some would even say.. boring. Still good ost though. Even if Ancestor spirit is not as good it still stands out from every other soundtrack. Just because you think Fortissax's ost is better, calling Maliketh's and ancestor's themes boring is an absolute L take.

Fortissax is just too aggressive throughout the entire track, there is no breaks, i feel Godrick did this way better, it is always so heavy and aggressive too but it introduces many small dynamic elements that break up the constant noise and gives it shape.
Midra, easiest S-Tier in the whole thing. Lich-Dragon Fortissax and Elden Beast deserve an S too.
My S tier :
Fortissax
Mohg
Radagan
Godskins
Malenia
💀
I think the best ost from ER is Slave knight Gael's theme
Slave knight Gael is not even top 20
I don't think Gael is in ER
@@divinehammy2626 i think that’s the joke…
I find it somewhat funny that for me, the dlc had among the most forgettable theme. Even though it hadn't been long, the only music I somewhat remember is the first phase of Bayle
Got surprised by you suddenly speaking French, I'd be glad to hold a conversation with you in French if you want to learn more 🇨🇵
Where? When? At what part he spoke french?
You can't start with the best track.
It's downhill from there
Makes most of the soundtrack sound like a mix of chants and drums
The Godskin theme is one of the best in the game, yet it's so underrated because how horrible the fights were before we discovered sleep.
Godskins in 1v1 are actually very good bosses, specially the apostle, but the duo certainly isn't. But yeah, the ost is amazing.
*Insert God of War reference here.*
Godfrey S+
Godfrey and Radagon are easy S+ tiers.
You make me sad with Godfrey.
Lord apparition should be an s
day 5 of asking Marco to react to the limbus company ost
Fortissax under maliketh and ancestral spirit ?
The sections aren't ordered! He just put it in whatever tier
Yep, as it should be
@@balalaika1233 how ? explain to me how those 2 boring themes are better than the masterpiece that is for lichdragon fortissax .
@@balalaika1233 well i like that perma dramatic moment
Big sad that Godfrey only got C😢 lol regardless, love you Marco!
