Even though they have retired I still needed this video to diagnose the starter relay is my no turnover issue.

Tried it on my 1970 MGB and it worked like a charm! Sure saves a lot of running around when servicing. Thanks Mr. Twist.

I was hoping this was going to solve my problem, unfortunately UK cars are configured differently.

    Hi!
I´m restauring a MG Midget MKIII from 1970.
Currently I´m trying to remove my dashboard and replace my windscreen. The thing is; I can´t get the dash of because the Temp. gauge is still attached to the dash. I´ve tried to undo the bolt holding the gauge to the dash, but the lines from the watertemp. and oiltemp. are still attached. Especially the line from the Oiltemp. is making it hard, since this is a `hard wire`.
    Anyone an idea?
    Thanks a lot!
    Thomas

Have you heard of a starting handle, these old cars all had them thus saving the need to hot wire your engine. But good points in the electrics and method generally.

darn, that is so disturbing how easy it must be to steal my mga, nevermind that it doesn't have any door locks :( starting to scare me a little. Any suggestions on how to make it harder to drive away with? Not sure who would want it in Hong Kong, but hey, you never know, right? Thank you for all the other vids as well, I find them extremely useful for when I have to troubleshoot my MGA!

You could install a switch on any ignition wire at the key hidden under the dash. Or install a battery cut off switch, with easy access. No battery power, they go nowhere.

I have a 1973 MG Midget and I believe it’s missing a few things under the hood would you be able to help me out by telling me what I’m missing. And could you send me your email so I can send the photo?

Just hide a kill switch somewhere. Mine is to the fuel pump, that way if someone nicks it the they get it started (thereby alerting you) and get 10 seconds away before it dies.

can't steer with the steering column locked on most cars. Also, this is not highly classified stuff!
