I'm glad you're back on the road now. The winter weather should be fairly nice where you're at. I'm in Casa Grande, Arizona, where the temp is supposed to hit 80 degrees today. Not sure what I'll do or where I'll go for Christmas. I might just go to McDonald's. The Bay Area was always an exciting place to visit for Christmas. When I was growing up, we often drove to San Rafael for Christmas where the weather was always much nicer than Stockton where I grew up.

Yep if I eat out on Christmas I'll probably get Chinese food -- usually those places are open! I remember years ago not being able to find any fast food open on Christmas day

Flat side down on that air spacing mat…. You need the open parts next to mattress to allow air.

How did the under pad make things nicer?
Did it insulate from cold?

Ah it was more of a cushion from the uneven aspect of the floor (because of those rubber cover things that don’t lay completely flat)

I think you put the mesh part to the top because it allows airflow under the mattress. It supposed to stop your mattress getting moldy.

I didn't pick up on where you are from, but if you're not from the Midwest, I would warn you that winter travel can be extremely dangerous. Be careful!
