      @RJ1J 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@rngiscurse I heard them talk about this on Sky. The stewards are going to have a special briefing with Max and Lewis before the race. Basically, they're gonna warn Max that if they think he runs Lewis off the road, he'll have many points deducted from his driver tally, meaning Lewis would win the championship. The sport would so fucked if they let Max get away with what Schumacher and Senna did.

With a season of new and relatively new tracks, races giving us more drama than we expected, and a dead tie going into this, this might be perfect to end on:
      - A track which hasn't given us great racing in the past (which has often led to surprisingly GREAT racing this year)
      - A redesign for that track, so now there's a lot of new variables (new stuff? Hello Qatar, Jeddah) for something that's familiar.
      - The last two winners basically having a 1v1 with 18 other drivers around
      - The possibility for better following and more overtaking than ever.
And honestly, the fireworks at the end of the race are the best way to wrap up the season.
DAMN am I excited for this. Might be the best birthday gift I get this year.

Holy crap, I just had a wild thought:
If they can follow so well, including possibly into Turn 9 (the banked left at the end of the 2nd DRS zone), and with Max and Lewis so close so much of the year... in the last lap, if you're one of them and you're in 2nd right behind them, do you go for broke and try an absolute insane divebomb through one of the last turns?
Imagine this happens and now you have the two of them basically trying to get their damaged cars moving to just about force them around the last few corners and try to finish in the top 10 and get that point they need.
They're DONE with the cars, we're getting something totally new next season. There's millions of dollars on the table for whoever takes the title... The risk/reward balance starts looking like taking a major risk at the end would be worth it.

Too many fast turns in row cooks tires (did we see Austin? Yes, driver behind couldn't get DRS detection because of that before long straight, losing 3 tenths just in last fast sweeper alone).
In reality you just don't want "unnecessary" slow turns (hotel part). But having hairpin, straight, haircut, straight, hairpin un hairlifter turn is what makes people happy and drivers satisfied.

2:07 is incorrect. Fast corners don't keep cars closer because of a lesser effect on grip. In fact the dirty air is even worse in fast corners. It keeps the car closer because there is less of the concertina effect which happens in stop-start type corners where the car ahead accelerates out of the corner before the following and the gap is spread. The opposite happens in braking but it's not enough to allow for overtakes. Only when corners are flat-out corners could you say that cars are kept closer because the dirty air doesn't have effect on the grip.

The old hairpin didn't have enough runoff to not force F1 cars to take the chicane, and they couldn't extend the runoff due to the grandstands and Ferrari World right behind it. I hopeful this gives Yas Marina a better reputation going forward, because that is an awesome-looking circuit and the backdrop is really stunning. I’m also hopeful that the “Brazil should be the last race” lobbying will stop too.

It cn hardly get worse, can it? Abu Dhabi's GP tend to be a proper snooze fest IMO, and to host the finale there always felt bizarre.

@@09csr It's all money, unfortunately. They (whoever is responsible for putting on the Abu Dhabi race) pay a premium to guarantee the final race is there. I believe it's something like $10 million/yr.
But I really hope this leads to there being some great racing. It LOOKS like it should be a phenomenal final race, but has often just turned into a yawner.

I still think it should be passed into F1 law that sao paulo is the last GP on the calander but hopefully the GP might not bore me to tears this year. Saying that im sure with max and lewis i would be on the edge of my seat if they were racing round a circle.

heart wants max to win gut instinct says lewis, The track will favour the mercs with this layout as the RB tends to be better with mechical grip and the merc has that mighty power plant.

Max has never raced any different. He has no strategy other than I will go and drive as fast as i can. thats his attitude from day one. not an inch of space for anyone. he will run lewis off track every chance he will get.
as lewis said, i guess we have to build our car much faster then.

So many comments from people that are only watching F1 since this season or last season, that is really awesome! And ofcourse the Netflix series helped a lot, but also the amazing rise of Max Verstappen and the way he is able to dethrone Hamilton. I hope the simplification of the track doesn't make this an easy win for Lewis (or Max, but RB is at a disadvantage here). That would really take the live out of a season that attracted a lot of new motorsportfans. At least we know they will be at their absolute limit!
