The video reads like an ad for a terrible idea.
The video literally mentions "free healthcare for billions" without giving a hint of how it could be financed.
An easy take would be to have counter points from a generalist doctor or a nurse, that would enumerate the hundreds way this is a bad idea.
Or maybe this is a great idea, but the video fails to convey how it could be one.
@@s3_build I don' think it's a problem with the video. It's a problem with the company. Just looks like they are creating a fancy box room phone, and not actually solving any hard problems.
@@mfrancis107Agreed. It feels like an investor pitch for a product that seemingly is just combining existing technology rather than solving hard problems. This feels like a product that will just end up as another experiment doomed to never escape San Francisco. As much as it would still be great to have these to relieve some load from the medical systems around the world, the costs to do this as well as maintain such a network would be astronomical. The hard problem to solve here is the business and finance side, not necessarily the product side if we take their claims at face value.

If you're interviewing a company, you need to ask the hard questions.
Are any deployed?
If yes, where? and go test it. If no, then when? rough time frame?
What will it cost someone to use?
Will insurance play a role?
How much will a pod cost to build & deploy?
Do they have any partnerships (or push back) from hospitals & clinics?
I like S3, but come on Jason, don't just pedal their fluff propaganda, ask the hard questions.
To be honest, I don't feel the need to ask questions/reiterate info that every other video/article about a company covers. You can get the answers to all of those questions on news features or their website.
The whole point of doing this show for me is to ask questions I want to hear about, not reformat the same questions every other video asks.
As I've said in the past, and what I'll continue to say until it's clear to everyone is, check back in on a given company or the channel in a few years. You'll see the progress then.

How do you sanitize it between sessions?
That video concentrated so much on the superficial stuff, like the size of this box. Who cares? Tell me what it can and how you plan to make it work as well as a hospital. Like what if the patient needs an MRI scan? Are you going to build an MRI scanner into the device? What if the device needs to look into your throat or do a prostate exam? What's the plan for that?
Want to make it "cheap for everyone"? Show me a retro fitted shipping container. Want people to "live for a thousand years"? Where is the bio nerd telling us what the rest of the industry doesn't get?
Love this channel though, keep up the good work!

This is incredible. Instead of waiting for an appointment for a simple blood test you can just go to these boxes and get sorted. Same for vaccination. This box can be turned into a vaccination center with a couple of people watching and probably do the task alot faster and more efficiently.

Sometimes life is strange. Friday night I was told to go to the ER because a virus I got teamed up with my asthma to throw my SpO2 and heart rate into the danger zone -- ironically this is the week we have an episode all about improving and democratizing access to healthcare!
I'm doing better now, but my medical issues this week caused a delay in the release of this weekend's episode. I couldn't be more excited about the vision and brains behind the Forward team and am pleased to give y'all an inside look into what they've built so far.
Maybe next time I won't have to go the ER for an EKG and chest XRay, I can just stop at a local CarePod...

The video was interesting, but I agree with some of the other comments in that they seem to be promising a lot without clearly articulating the value they deliver today.
Do the tests they mentioned work right now? Or does it just do a 3D scan of your body and use your phone to detect heart rate? In an age of smartwatches and general convenience I feel like at home testing will ultimately make more sense than paying to place care-pods on every street corner.
I’m also deeply interested in their profit model, they mentioned that they want to deliver this service for free so who is paying?
Ultimately it is your show, I like the content you put out and I will likely continue watching even if you don’t make any changes, but I do think some of the questions are important.

Are there any MDs and/or biomedical people who have had input with any of this? They say they monitored dr’s offices but is there anyone working on this that understands the nuts and bolts of everyday medicine and all of the rigors associated with it?
Cool idea and feels like in 10-20 years this might actually work, but right now it kinda looks like vaporware in a (very well designed) box.
Who is going to maintain these? I think this is a great idea. Health screening is key to things we ignore or catastrophize and generally fear. Scanning our bodies and being curious as easily as walking into a pod seems much better than what we currently do.
I believe in the idea, but it's all investor fluff. And they don't even know that there's 8 billion not 9 billion. And then to not have the oversight to even watch the video to correct that before posting. Tsk tsk tsk .
I think the audio is not synced with the video just a little bit. But it feels jarring.
Unfortunately this video didn't offer much information or hard facts. It was mainly sales talk and fluff. That can be fine if the service or product itself is kind of self explanatory. In this case though, I feel like they said a bunch of nothing for 10 minutes. This has been the case for a couple of the last videos you have released, which isn't really something that I'm interested in, and some of the other commenters seem to agree. I'll stick around for the next one, but if it, too, is fluffy sales talk without substance I'll unsubscribe for the time being.

I’m probably dumb but I watched this video and I’m still not sure how this box solves health care problems or why it needs to be a box and not just a room. I hope this feedback is somewhat useful.
I am glad to see what different people/companies/startups are trying to do-from THEIR perspective. This is one of many companies to be working on a product like this. And if they come off as the latest Theranos, good to know. I’ve been a fly on the wall of four S-3 filmings. The goal was not investigative journalism. From my viewpoint it was to let the founders share their stories as they’d like. And I watched as some did a fantastic job of providing the technical aspects (to the extent their proprietary information and government contracts allowed), the reason they believe in what they are doing, and the impact they believe what they are doing will have . If they choose not to do that, can’t, or only have fluff to show-their bad and to their detriment. And to everyone else’s benefit getting to see it. A biased .02 no doubt. But seeing the filming and interviewing on site first hand gave me a take that’s hard to appreciate without having experienced it.
So what part of this can't be mailed or a app on your phone? The 3D body scan maybe. Polycam exists. This seems like a step backwards.
Still tough to balance getting factual points about impact vs getting a corperation/company to comply to/from request for a walk-around.

so a fancy box that does blow test and a 3d model of your body. If they can do rapid blood tests over a wide range of tests then that’s what theranos wanted to do and that’s a product. But it looks like it’s just a walk in Clinique where the nurse is a box, and can’t do most of what a nurse does
Tbh I don’t think the hard part of medicine is the hardware. I agree with more devices over doctors for affordable healthcare, but there’s a LOT of software doctor to figure out
I do like the concept of telehealth and telemedicine as a way to democratize healthcare and alleviate some of the doctors' workload. I like the idea that these boxes give a sense of privacy like a doctor's office, but I feel like there is a lack of health data security. If these are deployed at malls, I can envision someone stealing health records by stealing the hard drive or sniffing the public wifi. Can the physical and cyber security of a healthcare clinic match one of these pods? And where is this data going to and who has it?
So here’s the thing the government will never let this happen because pharmaceutical companies influence the government and their political agenda. If you start making people healthier that means they’re taking less drugs and the pharmaceutical companies will not have that good luck even though I think this is a brilliant idea. As a personal trainer for more than 25 years, I’d also like to have this in my gym. I think this is the future of preventative medicine.
How much? and can I order a box today?
Dang, so doctors are going to be unemployed too ? .. well the thing is the human body doesn't change or has new versions, just shit we still have left to figure out. in that case a software might work for diagnosis and it should but you guys should provide more details on tech stuff!
Kinda looks too fancy tbh, this looks like a hot concept car that i really wanna see goto production but it doesn't happen, even when it happens, shit like the new Supra comes out lol.

Amazing video! Alghtough when it comes to the company.... i dont see a future for this, since they dont want to build a platform with the necessary infrastructure and useful technologies but instead they focus on a pretty looking camera box with heartrate meter that is far to expensive for even low income people communities in developed countries. and that should help anyone in the world.. even African level low income? What I see is a really beautiful dream that can only come to be when you are out of touch with the current reality. I can see that those things are hard to keep clean, maybe gets stolen easily, hard to repair, expensive unecessary manufacturing techniques and paint where it isnt needed. list goes on... Also: i dont see not even half of their promised technologies implemented. How the hell do you want to analyze the dna in that box? Or blood tests? So what they are saying is that these need to be sent to a central facility (expensive and unrealistic) and most likely this box needs internet, given their fancy implementation. But even if you have internet at remote places, the starlink is far from cheap. Also it worries me that all those things are not dealt with, yet they already dream about it like a finished product...just not a good working philosophy. But certainly a very honorable goal.

The idea is solid. Unfortunately they are snakeoil salesmen. The whole industry is so heavily regulated that they can hardly offer you anything significant in there. It's more of a strong UI interface than strong diagnostics
At best it can serve as a sample collector for further lab testing, which would already be a massive 99% improvement over how things are done atm

Generally a great idea, but the design is baffling to me, it looks so dystopian. Also I would start talking about everyday diagnostics that are already real in the world today such as in China you get urinals you can pay a few dollars and get free urine analysis which can tell if you are low on certain crucial nutrients and potentially detect early signs of disease..
also big concern with the above and this is data safety. insurance companies could use this information against you in a big way. even your family members who did not agree to give their data away.
The guy who said he wanted to change the world seemed to specialise in standing in that glorified photo-booth wearing an inane grin.

What exactly does it do? Just use couple cameras to measure your body proportions and ask a few questions? And then AI doctor hallucinates a guess as what sort of rare disease you might have?

Yea why not? The beauty of AI is that it will be able to handle data at a scale completely unimaginable to humans. The multidimensional vector-spaces that it already handles is absolutely staggering. At that point every metric you can give it increases the likelihood of it finding a pattern that we have missed.
