So... this man went to Austria and experienced racism. He came back to England and decided to accuse all British whites of being privileged. I’ve never heard such rubbish. British people are not Austrians. His expensive education obviously overlooked some basics.

That's the anecdote that has shaped his view of society. First, it was just one woman, second, it was Austria. So, what, ALL whites are the same? Isn't that a little bit of a racist assumption?

I am Irish, if people want to see what happens when a society starts branding people by some sort of social yardstick and where that ultimately leads to .... I give you Northern Ireland.
Catholics and Protestants slaughtered one another for years, why? Both sides held on to partisan views of history, that is why.
3,000 dead out of population of 1.5m if you extrapolate this to the UK today that would give you a body count of 134,000 dead.
Start segregating / separating / identifying people by the colour of their skin taken to it's logical conclusion is well Northern Ireland, except its not religion this time.

Saying somebody possesses privilege is not a stereotype though is it? I can say all good looking people have some privilege - that isn't stereotyping?
Stereotyping would be saying - because that person is white, they are bad or they hold X view.
How can people not grasp this....

@@Alex-pt5no "Stereotyping would be saying - because that person is white, they are bad or they hold X view"
So, exactly what critical race theory the phrase 'white privilege' comes from & references explicitly says then, that all white people are guilty is the message, guilty means you've done something bad & are bad. All white people are bad & must apologise for some sort of 'original sin' is what the WOKE are pedalling while calling all white people inherently racist (without any hint of irony at all, because they simply don't see the fact that what they're saying is racist), this has been their message for a very long time now.

I don't think it's specifically racist, but racist can use it as cover for their racism to make to look like they're just advocating for justice and equality. I understand that there's racial equality and racism may play a role, but it's not that white people are granted unearned privileges (as the narrative generally goes), but people of other races are viewed of as less. Calling it white privilege just ignores the power structures that stigmatise certain races and shifts the blame to white people in general, and most people are just trying to live their lives and don't really want to rule over anyone.

I'm white male working class. I've shattered my back with a lifetime of heavy manual labouring. I should have been retiring in a couple of years' time - but our government just added years to my working life, even though I can barely get out of bed in the mornings with the pain.
My hourly rate of pay is only £1.20 more than it was 25 years ago.
The cost of fuel has doubled in that time - I have to drive 25 miles, on a very dangerous road, every day to work.
I need a substantial, safe car - but I can only afford a 14 year old one.
Because I don't have £30,000 spare to buy an electric car, I recently had to pay almost £300 road tax.
Now the government has introduced fuel that will eventually f**k up my car and put it off the road.
I still won't be able to afford an electric car. I'll simply have no car to get me to work.
I won't even go into the truly hard, working lives of my parents. I'll just say that they were certainly never "privileged".
I do not feel "privileged". I've never been racist - however, this nonsense is stoking hatred and divisiveness. Is it a good thing that we're back to defining people by their skin colour? It is as plain as day that this is cynical strategy of the far-left to cause conflict and social upheaval. They thrive on chaos.

White privilege is what rich people who inherited a lot of money and got good job thanks to connection created, to spread their guilt of not deserving what they have to other white people, so it's not just them, but other whites too. It's harder to say "I fucked up" than "we fucked up". As someone has already pointed out, Albie despite his organisational stance comes across as a (barely) closet racist. Namely basing a skewed reality on his own experience. Erich Fromm wrote that the fascists of the future will call themselves anti fascist (paraphrased). (Churchill is quoted as repeating this too). Fromm is a psychologist, a humanist philosopher AND a socialist. He also wrote between the wars and on his experience as a Jew who fled the Nazi atrocities. He created something positive out of his experiences. He didn't sublimate with more hate and spurious conclusions 😔 very frustrating indeed...

Bravo Calvin, always the voice of reason ! Funny how no-one ever talks about black on black racism, e.g.: Rwanda, the Hutus vs. the Tutsi’s or as Yasmin Aliya -Brown has documented, the racism of her fellow Ugandan Indians against Ugandan Africans, or how about the Mosque that just got bombed in Kunduz killing & maiming hundreds of minority ethnic Hazara people because of their “Shia” beliefs…….yeh, it’s a fcuk’ed up world my friends & as a working class ( poor) white male pensioner, don’t any of you effects dare call me privileged 🤬
