I got this exact bike a few months ago, I've been in several spills since then and have yet to break anything on this bike, it's seriously tough and dependable
Update. I've banged up the rear wheel pretty good but I just keep a tube in it and still rides alright . Honestly I believe it's user error. No other problem other than the derailer can be finicky and needs a lot of attention if you ride often
Mine just arrived today, picking it up tomorrow. I recently learned the SRAM SX Eagle is known to not be very reliable for long term use, any reccomendations for an upgrade that wouldn't involve me changing the entire drivetrain?
Great video. I have a Rockhopper Comp 2021, with MicroShift 1x9. It serves me well on urban use + mid level trail riding. The problem is the suspension. It’s coil and heavy. I’m wondering if I should simply upgrade the fork to something like a RockShox Recon or if it would make more sense to sell the bike and buy another, like a Chisel or Trek X Caliber 9. What would you do?
Go for the new bike. The fact that the Rockhopper has a quickrelease makes it not the best frame to keep upgrading parts on. You will be limited when it comes to wheel choice etc.
hey man. im 6foot8 about 325 in weight and working to get it lower. i really want a mountain bike and my budget is 1000-1200 and this bike is on sale for $999 right now for the XXL. would you know if this would work for a bigger guy?
Why is it that i keep seeing videos of the 2022 Expert 29 but the profile of the frames shape is different in different videos. Sometimes the top tube is higher up and not inline with the seat stays, then other times its angled further down to be perfectly inline with the seat stays. Is it something to do with the different bike sizes?
@@JanOleBroeske hi , thanks for answering, I am a bit mode then a starter and i want to buy this bike but i am worried about the suspension 80/90/100 because its seems unusual and little short.
First let me congratulate you for such a cool, calm and relaxing video. Second, I have a quick question, do you know if you can upgrade the SX Crankset on this bike, with a GX crankset, and still keep the SX Cassette, derailleur and shifter? Thank you in advance.
The ambience. The editing. The bike. Beautiful 🤩
Thank you, Louis!
I'm hoping to get one of these in the next week or two.
Also, great choice of music. It was very relaxing.
Thanks Jon!

Did you get it ?

Stay with the SX until it's worn out. Then maybe go to a GX
Awesome, thanks!
Let me ask, the front brake disc is 180mm and spokes are 28H, the rear is 160'mm brake disc and spokes are 32H.
Not sure about the spoke number, but maybe the intention is more stiffness in the rear, for any harsh hits on the rear.
What brand is the post where the handlebar is mounted? 2:30
Raceface Turbine R

Yea, go for it!
What year was this model?
So you put the handlebars together so that you can take it apart again? When coming out of the box bike did not have them on 🤦🏻♂️😅
Yea, the idea of upgrading them came to my mind half trough the build😂

I like these bars. Really close to pulling the trigger on this bike. If I do, I'd like to throw these bars on it.
Do you have to wear special shoes with this pedals
Some flat shoes are probably a good idea
@@JanOleBroeske like converse or a special sole

You can do that, but you need a different bottom bracket then.
