In this video, we board the Dragon's Pearl. Indochina junk's traditional Junk Boat for a three day, two-night cruise of the beautiful Ha Long Bay and Bai Tu Long bay!
We seek adventure on Kayaks and get (kind of) stuck in sea caves, eat incredible amounts of the freshest sea food ever and get to spend a few days with some awesome people!

@@JordanandEmily Would you recommend the 2 day cruise then or do you think 1 day is fine? I loved the sails they put up on the ship, but I also loved the ones that have personal balconies a lot...I'd love to sit outside on a private balcony drinking coffee and watching the karsts go by.
@@doodahgurlie hard to say because we didn't do the one night one! All we know is we loved the length of the two night one because you actually got some free time and time to enjoy the boat/views!
our room was small and didn't have a balcony (which would be cool!) but it meant we got out of the room and socialised a lot more than we maybe would have if we were in our room a lot!

Enjoy your beautiful Ha Long Bay trip video, nice to get away from the noise and chaotic of the city. I took a similar 3 days boat tour with limited cabins 8 years ago, but we stayed 1 extra night in Cat Ba island and also hiked to the top of the National Park on the island. Great few shots of the birds trying to catch fish in the water. Thanks for sharing, great video.

@@JordanandEmily it’s amazing! It’s usually setup as a 2 night excursion. A tour bus picks you up and drops you off at a few San Jose locations and once your on board, it’s somewhat all inclusive. They take you by bus to a small boat that takes you to tortuguerro to an eco lodge where all meals are included. They tour you by boat through the park and if your there during turtle egg laying season, you go out with a biologist at night and watch turtles laying eggs. I got up early one morning and got to see some baby turtles hatch and make it to the ocean. Magical!

Are you one of those Vietnamese people, who get easily offended of the current Vietnam Flag? The reason I ask, is when I came back from my vacation from Vietnam, the Vietnamese in the U.S. we're so angry at me for buying and wearing souvenir shirts, hat, and face mask with the current Vietnam flag stitch on it. I was like, it's the pass and get over it.

Amazing captured of the flying hawk, that was Discovery Channel quality. Seeing the birds reminds me a Korean travel show, where the host tasted the water in Ha Long Bay and said it's salty, so they're definitely at sea, but there's no seagulls .......The last part a bunch of white bird flying I'm not sure if they're seagulls or pigeons or cranes????? Or probably there are seagulls but the bay is too big so they nested somewhere else away from the hawks .... Awesome video

We didn't get desert on board 😕 but maybe next time!
They charge tourists a lot. So, I asked some locals for recommendations, got an agents number, then called and tried to sweet talk him. Praising his business, telling how superb his tours are, how many good things I heard about his tours etc. Almost blew it when he asked for more details. But I got crazy low price for 2 person tour.
Such a good idea, we unfortunately just booked at the price we saw!
But we learnt when we got on board that people paid all different amounts! Crazy!

What month you visited Vietnam? I am surprised at how great the weather was, when you were in Halong bay and the other vlog when you were in Sapa
We did the top half of Vietnam in the second half of April this year.
We couldn't believe some of the stories we heard about bad weather in Sapa, we definitely got very lucky!

We had to look hard to find the 2 night 3 day trip but they do exist! I also think it might be seasonal and not something that's done all year around!

We are planning to do this trip soon. What costs are there beyond the ticket? Did they charge for water? How much are non-alcoholic drinks? Did you tip?
You will have the best time!
Water is included you just have to ask for them to fill up your bottle - for other drinks you'll get a menu onboard and can order what you like then you pay at the end of the cruise. The drinks weren't expensive and there is coffee in the morning which is included! ☺️
We did tip but I can't remember how much - sorry!!

Hello! We paid roughly $700 AUD for both of us, but there is no pricing as it changes constantly and often people pay different prices to eachother depending on how full or empty the boat is! Best to send a message to them through their website, if you mention this video they might do some kind of discount!

Sure thing! ours was $750 Australian dollars for us both, I'm not too sure how it would differ for a solo traveller but i'd assume it would be a bit cheaper! I know the price fluctuates a bit too depending on when you book and who you book through so make sure you do your research! 😃

Yep! They picked up from anywhere in the old quarter of Hanoi. We were technically a little bit out of the old quarter but they picked us up anyway 😃
